My hair dresser told me that you can send an old CHI in to the company and for about $32 they’ll send you a brand new one. Something to check out if you can get a whole new one for really cheap.
really. I have had mine for 7 yrs and two months ago it fell of my bathroom counter and broke. It still works but one of the plates falls out and so i have to use it in a special way. I call chi to see if they could repair and they said no. i think Ill call and ask about this. thank you 🙂

i am a hairdresser and this stragihtner gets very hot but the plates are ceramic plated not true ceramic plates like a chi or ghd ( which are the best) chis are only about 80 when there are sales at jcpenny or kohls( get it when kohls cash comes and there is a 30 percent off online code i go mine for 51 plus 10 kohls cash =41 even cheaper than the wholesalers i get stuff from ) anyway these flat iorns pull and tug the hair more where as a chi or ghd goes thru with no pulling i always say like butter lol! flatiorn markups are redicilous! these iorns you can get at tj maxx or marshalls for 24-34 usually they are the kind they sell at the booths in the middle of the malls where the people are flat iorning hair( they all have the handle design ) also even though the bottl of chi infusion is small it should be applied in tiny amounts start with a dime sizes amount for hair first emulisfy in hands top and bottom and start from the bottom up leaving the product on the back of your hands for the root aera or it will weigh your hair down ! less is more !:) Remember Chi and GHD you will not be dissapointed and if you have one of these and you use a chi after you will know what i mean and follow directions of temps for hair types too much heat without protection will damage even the most beautiful locks! good luck!

i dont believe so unless there was a merge i havent heard about alot of times thses bogus companys try to marlet the names similiar so people think they are getting the better product and if your not that fimiliar with it you think you got the real one just marketing ploys

i am a chi girl all the way or ghd chis are less expensive and although theyy average around 100 you can find deals and it is so well worth it i love this iorn and im sure 80 percent of hairdressers would agree chi turbo is digital a bit more but the basic black chi is an awesome product check out kohls when they have their 30 percent off online coupon codes ! ghd is an even better choice but they are quite more expensive and chis arealmost just as good:)
I am a hair stylist as well. I love chi and paul mitchell flat irons. they work great and have never had a problem with them!

you are absolutely right there is no way this brand is that much they are the same as the ones they sell in the malls and they jack the prices up to make it look better i just posted about this save your money for a chi!

I bought this on Sunday when it was posted. It came super fast so I’ve used if for 3 days now. This was soooo worth the 49.99!! I was just using a Revlon ceramic 1″, and there is a major difference with this one. I go thru with just one pass and it comes out silky and leave me feeling like it does when I get it styled in the salon. I haven’t owned a CHI before, so I can’t compare it to that. If you have a cheaper iron now, you will notice the difference right away. I don’t have the heat temp set to the highest, about med high.

Yeah, I know Helen of Troy isn’t a premium. I got it to straighten my hair for college graduation back when I only wore it that way for special occasions. I kept using it regulary once I decided to go straight just because I already had it and it got the job done. I’m hoping having a better model will cut down on styling time. How do you care for/clean your plates?

What flat iron spray would you recommend (I’m Caucasian with thick, naturally curly, stubborn hair)? Bonus points if it’s under $10/bottle and easy to find. 🙂 I was using Ion but I can only find it at Sally’s and it leaves my hair a little too slick and shiny. I’ve also tried a couple of kinds of Matrix and I used Treseme exactly once before realizing a flat iron spray with water as one of the first ingredients wasn’t going to work well for me. I tried Nexxus once at a friend’s house but that wasn’t a fair trial because it was just for a touch up.

Just remember if it doesn’t come from the salon or the company it is counterfeit. The company won’t stand behind it. (Say wiring causes a fire).
that is not tru any longer as target kohls are stores that sell them and when you buy the product you register it as long as it has a registration card youre all good i havent tried the pm one yet but havent heard anyone complain about it yet !
My chi just broke last week and my sister in law is a hairdresser as well and told me to get the new Paul Mitchell one, she said she likes it MUCH better than the Chi and will never go back. I got the PM and personally like the Chi better, but it gets the job done. I picked this one up just for the simple fact I would like a back up.
