So if I buy 2, can I get 2 $%+Ups as well as the 2 $5 single check rebates? Thanks in advance!

    • sne3103

      I meant $5 +Ups!

    • rebekah

I looked up the SCR and it said there is no limit. That should mean you can purchase 2 and receive both the UPS and the SCR. 🙂

      • sne3103

        Thanks Rebekah 🙂

  2. kathy b

is the 5.00 rebate right on the receipt?

    • Ana

No, You go online and enter your receipt there. It takes no time at all to register with an e-mail and mailing address and then just add your receipt info. At the end of them month AFTER you have entered all your qualifying purchases (only the ones you get rebates for) you request a check and it comes in the mail to deposit in your bank. The only trick is to NOT request it mid-month as you will not be able to participate in other rebate offers for the rest of that month.

The 5+UP is on the receipt though.

Thanks! Those are cute lighters 🙂

  4. Tonia

    thanks!

  5. Beth

The only thing I don’t like about these deals are the fact that sure it is free in long run but money has to come out of my pocket first. Then I have to wait for the rebate and then use the up reward for something else.

    • angela

Beth: I always purchase the item with the up reward first then make another purchase using the up reward that way i dont forget to use it:-)

      • Joy

Beth don’t do like me.. and let not (1) or (2) or even (3) $2 up rewards expire by a day.. but I let (4) of them expire.. grrrrrrr!!!!!! Anyone ever have any luck with contacting corporate about getting mercy on credit for your expired UP rewards? thnx..

        • Tana

I had 4 expired up-rewards, and the clerk said it was okay to use them. That was in Salem, OR.

    • Kim

I agree with you. It’s free someday, not when you’re in the store!

      • PG

Also, I want to mention here too…

In some states lighters are considered tobacco products so you can’t use +UPs to buy them. I’m reading reports on several sites of people being unable to use their +UPs to buy these. Just be aware when you go to the store that you might live in one of those states. 🙂

    • Erin

Yeah, I think a lot of people get excited thinking it’s “free,” although it’s five dollars they wouldn’t have spent at RA otherwise. It’s probably more accurate to think of it as five bucks you get to spend twice.

      • Amanda

It’s free to me! I need a new candle lighter anyway so if I eventually get $5 back, it becomes free! (Plus, you don’t even have to pay a stamp to mail off a rebate, you just do it online!)

  6. Ana

I did the buy 30$ get 10 +UP deal this weak. I’ll use it to get this lighter free AND convert 5+Up rewards into cash!

  7. Ana

Does anyone know in what section these are found? I have no clue….

    • Megan

I asked and it was behind the counter up front where you pay. The cashier invited me around to look.

  8. Diana

I read it somewhere that we cant use UPs to buy it as its a product for Cigarette.

    • Amanda

      This is for candles.

    • lovedeals

You are right Diana. My friend just tried and you cannot use +up to buy these lighters.

      • cbeths

Thats strange. was it the cashier who stopped the transaction or the register wouldnt take rewards as payment?

      • mel

It says “Candle lighter” on the package, so how is it considered a cigarette product???

        • PG

Yes, see my comment above. In some states these are considered a tobacco product and you can’t use any sort of reward or coupon to buy them. In other states, it’s no problem.

          • mel

ah, OK! Thanks for the clarification. These would probably be considered tobacco here to, so I’m going to pass.

    • Erin

Glad to hear it! If no one can use these to roll their Ups, there might actually be some left on the shelf!

    • Jennifer

I just tried this in NY, and the cashier said it is considered a tobacco product and wouldn’t accept my +up as payment.

      • lindsey soren

Tried using up rewards to buy in southern Oregon and my up rewards beeped at check out!!!

  9. Ebony Cullars

    I tried this and I can’t use +UPs on this !

  10. rebekah

I did this deal, and it worked great! Thanks Collin! I bought 2 and got the 2 $5UPS. I had to scour the store for them. There were 6 different endcap areas w/ “candle lighters”. I finally found them on an end cap across from the candle and incencse isle. I actually never new riteaid sold insence.:)

  11. shela

they are considered tobacco here too, no discount applys. they are actually $10.29 where i live. so after taxes, up and rebate, there about $1

  12. sne3103

Has anybody successfully used +UPs on this in PA? Would love to know…thanks!

    • bob g.

you cannot use your +UPs in PA. just got back from my rite aid and they are considered tobacco products here in PA.

      • sne3103

Oh no.. thanks for letting me know…

  13. Susan

Is $10 the shelf price or a sale price?

  14. Lindz

Quick question about +UP… If you buy one item for $10, can you use a $3+UP and a $5+UP? Or can you only use one per item like at Walgreens?

    • Danielle

There is no limit to the amount of +UPs you use, as long as you don’t exceed the purchase price (i.e. cannot be redeemed for cash) However proceed with caution as the above posts indicate that in some states +UP rewards cannot be used to purchase this as it is considered a tobacco product.

  15. Megan

I got one of these and I am totally impressed. They are refillable! I just used the last of my other lighter last week and told my husband I was waiting for a deal. I love it when these deals happen exactly as I need them! Picked up the free o.b. too!

  16. Brenda

Note: The SCR book states that there is NO limit on how many SCRs you can get on the Zippo lighters.I did have to show my driver’s license to buy them, though.

  17. Terri

They were 9.99 at my store in NY. Neither my 20% off discount applied to this item, nor could I use ups to pay for it. Bummer on that part, but still free 🙂

  18. heather

I bought one and I will be taking it back. It hardly works. so be sure to check that it works just in case you need to return the ite.

  19. Crescent City Couponer

Couldn’t find these in New Orleans.

  20. lizWG

I did this deal in WNY and worked like a charm. I rolled my first UP into a second purchase. Limit of 2. Thanks. Great lighter!

  21. Amanda

So where are the monthly deals listed? There is no tag under the product at my store, so I am hesitating to buy it because I’m wondering if it’s a regional deal. It’s definitely not listed in my weekly flyer, and I can’t find anything on the website. I think I would just have to buy it and see if the $5+UP Reward comes out. (And if not, return it.) If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great!

    • Amanda

Also, KrazyCouponLady said this was only until 1/14. So was it a weekly deal or is it a monthly deal? But a commenter said her store had a tag that said it is until 1/31.
