Super Easy Wall Art from Reusable Bags
Do you ever notice those cute re-usable bags found at the Dollar Spot at Target with different characters and themes? Here’s how you can make super cute wall art with them in just a few minutes using blank canvases and thumb tacks.
DIY Canvas Art from Dollar Bin Bags
Supplies Needed:
- Pre-Stretched Blank Canvas
- Dollar Bin Re-usable Bags – Dr. Seuss bags found at Target
(They also sell various Dr. Seuss reusable bags on Amazon too) - Thumb Tacks (the flat metal type)
Directions:
- Cut bags leaving enough room around the edges to wrap behind the canvas.
- Attach bags with the design facing outward using the thumb tacks on the back of canvas where the wood portion is.
Here are the ones I made a few years ago to hang in a reading nook area for my kids. I also painted some matching cardboard paper mache letters from the craft store using craft paint and hung them all with mounting tape. Such a fun and easy project!
This idea would be so fun in a nursery, classroom, or kids bedroom! I’ve seen other themes and character bags throughout the year so keep your eyes open if looking for a specific kind other than Dr. Seuss. With the excess portion of the bags, you could maybe even make a cute homemade banner by cutting it in triangles.
This is a great idea!
Thanks Emily!
Super cute!

She loves Doc Mcstuffins and Dora The Explorer, too and hope to find reusable bags of these characters to create this special wall art! This wall art and cupcakes will be a fun birthday present for her! Thank You very much Lina and Collin!!!

You’re welcome 😀
I did this with my daughter’s choir shirts that she didn’t want to wear anymore. I bought a 2 pack of 11×14 canvas from Hobby Lobby using their 40% off coupon. The whole project cost me less than $4.
Oh that’s a cute idea!
This would be a cool idea to do with old race shirts!
Are these bags the fabric kind or the paper gift bags?
Ya like the plastic fabric kind. Not paper gift bags
