WOW! Woot.com is offering up the Leapfrog Didj Custom Educational Gaming System for just $14.99 + $5 shipping. I have NEVER seen the Didj priced this low, so I would snatch this up while you can!

I got one of these systems for my nephew and dd a year ago on clearance. They are educational and very fun. The graphics are way better then a Leapster! This is a educational and cheaper way to avoid buying a Nintendo DS for your smaller kiddos!

  2. anu1c

now what games can be played on the this system? any leapster game?

    • Shannon

Yes, any of the regular leapster games work in this too. They have their own games as well.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Leapster games DO NOT work in the Didj..only Didj games. I have both systems and the cartridges are not the same size at all. HTH!

  3. bfam

Both my 7-year old and my 4-year old love the Didj! I might just have to buy a second one at this price!

  4. Erin

how does it compare to the leapster??

    • Tilla

in our opinion, mommy and 6 year old, leapster is WAY better, and there are way more games available.

  5. anu1c

and how does it compare to the leapster max? thats what i bought for my daughter on clearance abt a month ago. I havent given it to her yet, but if this is better, i can always return that one and buy this. thanks in advance.

    Question
Is the Didj Gaming System compatible with my Leapster or Leapster2?

    Answer
No. Didj game cartridges are not compatible with Leapster or Leapster2, and Leapster and Leapster2 cartridges are not compatible with Didj.

Actually kids woot can be updated anytime if the merchandise they were selling is sold out. I’ve seen toys sell out… I wait an hour or two and another toy deal would become available. I guess it’s how much stuff they have to sell…. but if you see something is sold out, check back in a little bit. Another deal might pop up that you don’t wanna miss!

Wanting some opinions…. which has better games for girls – leapster or didj? Which one do you like better? My 3.5 year old is into princesses, fairies, etc. Help?

  9. Jennifer

    I LOVE Woot.com!! I always buy the awesome t-shirts!!

  10. Kelly

I thought these were being phased out?

  11. Lynz

Got two of them. My boys are going to love them… Thanks

These things are a piece of junk. I wouldn’t waste your $19 on this. I have had three of them, returned 2 for new ones and the new ones didn’t even work. I call Leapfrog to see what I was doing wrong and they couldn’t help me. I’m pretty good with computers and gadgets and this was impossible…it kept jamming up and not loading the info you needed. Even the games at the stores have come clearenced out…..it’s because they can’t sell them because they are awful. I’ve always been happy with Leapsters, but don’t waste you money on this.

  13. Jill Williams

Oh man – I just bought 3 for Christmas presents! You only have to pay the $5 shipping once!

  14. Tiffanie

I love these! I got one for my 2nd grader for xmas and it’s wonderful. When he started division in school he already knew how because of the didj games. Nintendo DS is just lazy play with no learning involved, but these teach things the kids actually need for school and involve their favorite characters like Indiana Jones, Starwars, Nicktoons, Sonic, Nancy Drew, Hannah Montana, etc. just to name a few. It is for the older group though. My 5 yr old will probably stick with the vsmile or leapster for a while before moving on to these.

  15. Tallymomma

Well now I’m on the fence about it after reading all the comments. I have heard compelling arguments both ways 😐

  16. kat4891

I still have one left if someone want to buy it from me NIP. Thought it as a present, but it can’t be used without good I-net speed.

They are great systems for age 5-8 or so. It has much better picture quality then a Leapster does. The game content is more advanced then a Leapster as well. So if you have a younger child 3-4 stick to the Leaspter and move up to a Didj when they are a little older. My friends and I all bought them for our kids when Walmart clearanced them last year, and all the kids really enjoy them. The 4 of us Moms have had no technical problems with our systems either. I have noticed some stores are phasing then out, but Leapfrog has also come out with New games this year for the Didj, so I doubt they will disappear too soon. Besides, once you have a system and a couple games you are good to go! It is well worth the $14.99!!!!

Leapster/Leapster 2 games do not work, you need Didj games. Leapfrog often puts out coupons for them too when you sign up for the learning path online.

Thanks for pointing this one out! Just ordered one for my son’s 5th birthday. I hope he likes it!! *crosses fingers*

  19. Jessica

I had debated on getting one a while ago because several friends’ kids have them so for that price I scooped it up for my daughter’s next birthday. Now I just have to figure out where to hide it until December!

  20. melissa

this IS a great price. i scored like 12 of them at the low price of like 7$ each a few years ago at walmart. and then i gave them all away as gifts, except 1 tha tim still holding on to until my son is a lil older (probably will give it to him this year). people thought i spent 60$ on their kids. if only they knew.LOL. great game system!

  21. aysha

games are also being clearanced out on amazon.com in the toy outlet.

  22. Tilla

great price, but wanted to let you know from one mom to another…the diji is the least favorite of our systems, and is not kid/user friendly. We own the Leapster, the DS, and the Diji…my 6 year old daughter never wants to play the diji despite it having some games she really wanted. it just isn’t easy for her to turn on, put games in or use. She absolutely loves her leapster and her ds. I paid 27 for the diji with a game on clearance at costco and I’m very happy I didn’t pay high dollar for something that just isn’t a great item, and up to par with what leap frog should be.

  23. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Agree with Vicki T. My son has this and its a P.O.S. The company is of no help with these. Always with the P.C. sync headache. Please don’t waste your 20.00 on this. I am good with computers too and could not get this to work. Horrible interface with the PC.

  24. Ana Maria

Even though I have read through all the reviews/comments both good and bad I am looking forward to getting these in the mail. My hubby actually saw this offer before me cause I left this page open on my computer while I ran to the store; he went ahead and ordered 2. We will be giving them to our 2 boys this Christmas. Also, he found some $7 off any Didj Learning Game coupons; I know I have seen the games on clearance at several stores. The couponing and the Hip2Saving has rubbed off on my darling husband, which is totally awesome! 🙂

  25. Nina

I get very leary of these kind of sites. It sounds like Dailycheckout.com, which is a scam. I know from my own experience. Try googling “Woot scam”…please be careful ordering from this site!!!
