    WOW!!!

  2. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

i wonder what flights exactly you can get and how far you can fly. this seems almost to good to be true

    • Andrea

if you go into the link that has more details, it shows a list of 110 cities you can travel to and from so it seems like you can travel a far distance with this deal !

  3. Andrea

I am sooooooooo excited about this. Me and my husband are planning a special trip next year and we need to get airline tickets and this would be perfect !!! One free ticket, it can’t get better than this !!! I just hope I can do everything correctly in order to get it. How does the Perks rewards work?? Do you have to sign up for something before ordering your stuff? I am not sure how that works, and does anyone know which airlines you have to use, or is it just by destination and not airline?? Thanks !!

  4. Christina

Anyone know how long we’d have to use the ticket???

    • Andrea

of what I understand, it looks like you have a year from the date that you get the reward to use it, so I guess about a year !

    • Christina

Never mind… answered my own question; answer is ONE YEAR.

Also… please be aware that you only get the BASE ticket free… you will have to pay for other stuff like taxes, baggage fees, etc…

  5. Pam S.

I also can’t find what the participating airlines are.

  6. Shannon

Since it says you have to book through a particular site, it makes me wonder if they charge full price for the first ticket making it about the same, cost wise, when you watch for sales and book through the airline themselves.

I got two of these ‘free companion fare’ deals through American Express, and there were plenty of black out dates, I didn’t see any non-stop flights, there were plenty of ‘red eye’ type flights, and the ‘first companion’ fare was super high. I’m not sure if it is the same company/deal…just an FYI to read the fine print before you book your trip. My sister used one of the certificates with her boyfriend going to Colorado on a ‘last minute’ trip already, and she didn’t have a problem (sitting with him). I don’t think I’ll get around to using the other certificate, though, because there are 3 people in my family. I would have to get the exact same flight(s) booking it separately for one of my family members.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        I received the same gift from American Express and took advantage of it to visit my sister in Phoenix. Simply went online and picked out a flight and the good thing was I was able to earn double miles. I got miles by using my airline credit card and was awarded miles for booking my flight through the redemption site. Now i will just need to find a place to store all the white out and sticky notes I will have to purchase to qualify. : }

  7. Christina

Has anyone done OfficeMax rewards before. Do you get MONEY BACK in the form of a check, or do you get a store credit on a gift card??? I’m asking b/c I only want to do this deal if I’m getting my money back essentially.

    Thanks!!! πŸ™‚

    • Grace

I’m wondering the same things about the rebates. Also, how long does it take to get them? Even if it does come in the form of store credit, I think I could put it to use around Christmas. They have Ipods, and I think video game stuff, so I could just roll that into gifts.
I’m planning a trip to Walt Disney World at some point in the spring and this would be great to use. Even if the ticket is only valued at $150, the tickets to Orlando from Phoenix are only $219. And now that my daughter is no longer a lap child, it just makes things more expensive haha

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

“Bonus Rewards, along with any other Rewards a member may have earned during the same period, will be issued in the form of a reward card redeemable toward future purchases. Reward cards expire 90 days from date of issuance, except in Florida where they expire one (1) year from date of issuance.” Boo πŸ™

    • mandy

Thank you for the link/research. I seriously considered it until I read that. What a rip off!

    • Suzy

Thank you for the link. I was wondering how the zone part worked. Interesting article.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

this is not the same program… I have been rewarded from this company in the past from amex and I could not find a lower price for the two tickets

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think I got the same American Express promo and the deal was great was able to fly to Orlando Fl at great savings even after comparing the prices at southwest

  8. Andrea

how do you sign up for max perks rewards without having a buisness??

    • reeses_dream

I would like to know this too!

      • Andrea

maybe you put in stay at home mom in buisness name and that works, it does show an option of whether or not your buisness has same address as home, so sounds like that would work, but who knows…..getting discouraged though, lots of people saying this deal is a rip off….. no good. =(

        • reeses_dream

I just signed up…used my home addy as my business addy, got my perks # and I’m placing my order. I feel like it’s a great deal even without the plane ticket. (I still put in the promo code and we’ll see….even if I don’t use it…I’m getting a lot of stuff for under $10!) and I can use the “reward” for ink for coupon printing! LOL

        • Collin

          Hi Guys-

ANY one is eligible for a MaxPerk’s business membership…you do NOT have to own a business to choose this option (I did verify this fact and was told by customer service that it was completely fine to sign up for a business membership even as a stay-at-home mom). You can sign up online, at your local OfficeMax store or by calling 1-866-MAXPERKS.

  9. Martina

This deal sounds awesome, but you won’t actually get to sit with your companion unless you pay the upgrade fee:( In the fine print it says, “Receive one coach class, roundtrip companion airline ticket with the purchase of the first coach class, roundtrip, airline ticket. Blackout dates will apply.”

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That is not a first class seat… It means you get two coach seats. you can sit next to each other…

  10. Holly

I received one of these deals from another company. The company name doesn’t sound familiar but the map they showed is identical, meaning it might actually be the same company. I wanted to use it for a flight from AZ to TN. The base fare they gave was over $500. I think that it is totally not worth it unless you are flying last minute or something.

  11. Christina

Will we get CASH back??? Or merely a store credit that we have to use at Office Max??? Because I’m not going to find $150 extra worth of stuff to buy in 90 days (which is how long it will take before the rewards expire).

  12. Gwendolyn

So to get the free airline ticket I have to purchase a first class ticket with my order??

  13. Andrea

I was so excited about this deal but if I can’t purchase a base fare ticket of $250 or less in order to get my free ticket, then I am not interested, because I don’t want to pay more for my first ticket in order to get a free ticket…… then the deal, doesn’t seem like a deal at all. =)

  14. Megan

Stay away from this “deal”! It’ll cost you bunches for the first ticket, sign up for a fare-watcher instead and save yourself the headache.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I got the same deal from Bloomingdales a while ago and I was able to save over $100 on my two tickets when compared to Expedia and the airline directly.. loved it and I was in the need for some office supplies… gotta get out of Cleveland this winter…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Do you work for Farewatcher?

  15. Hayden

I won a similar ‘free flight’ through a (terrible) timeshare sales pitch. It was not a good deal. Like other people have commented — you end up paying more for the ‘base fare’ than you would if you bought through orbitz or aa.com …etc….which makes up for the ‘free’ ticket not really making it free at all. Just be careful all! I’m passing for sure.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I think that might have been a different company. time share and office max are two different animals.

      • Hayden

To clarify — the ‘free’ ticket was with a company very similar to this one. It was not through the actual timeshare — the timeshare just bought these ‘prizes’ or coupon vouchers to promote their product — just like Office Max doing.

  16. sarah

Here is the direct link to the company terms and conditions with these tickets and on that page you can see the zones for flying and the cost of the first ticket you will have to purchase! Hope this helps!

My husband is a travel agent (cruise specialist) and he often has clients who want to use this type of certificate for their travels. 99% of the time the Internet fare for both travelers is cheaper! This isn’t worth the time, effort and expense. Either catch a good sale or use a good agent who can do that for you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

wait a travel agent is putting down this promo. I don’t think I can trust a travel agent, programs like this take business away from them.

      • Leah

actually, I think she’s saying booking on the internet is cheaper than using an agent or this promo

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I was able to contact someone at OfficeMax. I was told that there are over 15 airline carriers and you can travel to over 100 us domestic destinations. Some blackout dates may apply. they said around major holidays, which is fine as I plan on traveling in early December. The program is two coach seats and you can sit next to each other.

    San Francisco here I come.

  19. Al

Once someone books a ticket, could you share the deets with us! Obviously we’re all trying to figure out if this will be worth it or not for ourselves! Thanks!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I need supplies and if this saves me some money on my next flight its worth it.

  20. Jennifer

Ok, I did a little the deal a little different, and combined it with the $10 post-it rebate! I bought 6 liquid paper, 6 black sharpie packs, 5 asst. sharpie packs, 4 post-it removable lables. My whole total came to $152.09. I will get back $10 from post-it and $128.93 in max rewards. Not to shabby for a total $13.16 and a free airline ticket!

  21. Ebony

Says the tickets are non-transferrable, So does that mean I couldnt use it to book a ticket for my parents to come see me, in thier name?

  22. Ebony

    ok found this
    “Is my certificate transferable?
Certificates and Activated Travel Vouchers are transferable only prior to making an airline reservation”

But there is a $9.95 processing fee added to EACH ticket
SO whatever the normal taxes/fees are plus an extra $20…

I wish Office Max gave cash back instead of a store credit. I cant spend $150 on office supplies right now πŸ™

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

There are no $9.95 Processing Fees in this offer.

  23. SB

The “store credit” that has to be used in 90 days is the killer for me, plus all the bad reviews these types of promos have had in the past. Thank you ladies for sharing your experience. I’ll just go about getting a cheap ticket the old fashioned way πŸ™‚

  24. Sarah Tacoma

TOTALLY BUM DEAL according to Office Max. I purchased everything that you listed – but there was no Max Dollars for the Ream of Paper and a limit of 4 Sharpies and a limit of 3 of the correction tape. Which left me with only $81.00 dollars…..

  25. SuperSonic
