Walgreens: "Jingle Cash" Promo Deal Scenarios

Hip2Save may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you via trusted partners and affiliate links in this post. Prices and availability are accurate as of time posted. Read our full disclosure policy here.

I received an email from a reader this morning basically stating what sweet deals they’ve gotten at Walgreens with the “Jingle Cash” (Register Reward) promo going on. Here’s a recap of the Jingle Cash promo running thru 12/11:

Super Jingle Cash (Register Reward) Promotion:
Spend $25 = $5 RR
Spend $50 = $10 RR
Spend $75 = $15 RR
Spend $100 = $20 RR

Even sweeter, from what I’ve heard, the totals listed above are calculated before buy one get one free sales are deducted, manufacturer’s coupons and in ad coupons… if that is in fact the case, you should be able to score some very sweet deals!

Check out one deal scenario I’ve put together that will be valid starting tomorrow, 12/8:

*Buy 2 toys priced at $9.99 each = $19.98
Buy 1 Crayola Pop Art Pixies $5.99
Total = $25.97
Use the $4/1 Select Toys priced at $9.99 in ad coupon found in the 4 day weekly ad
(will deduct $8 for purchasing 2 $9.99 toys)
Use the $$4/1 Crayola Pop Art Pixies Product Facebook coupon found here
Pay $13.97
Get back a $5 RR (for spending more than $25 Before coupons)
Final cost only $2.99 per item!
**These type of toys would make great stocking stuffers!

And here’s one more deal:

Flex-A-Min products Buy 1 get 1 Free
Buy 2 Flex-a-min Triple Strength Bone Shield Glucosamine Chondroitin Formula Plus Vitamin D + MSM Dietary Supplement Coated Tablets 80 ct $29.99 = $59.98
Minus buy one get one free sale = $29.99 for both
Use 2 $5/1 coupons found in 12/5 RP
Pay $19.99
Get back a $10 RR (for spending more than $50 before coupons and sales)
Final cost $5 each! Not bad for a product that retails for $30!

Let us know what deal scenarios you come up with!

(Thanks, Melissa!)

I was just there, not sure how I even got to the $25 before coupons, but I got the $5 cash for next week!! They always have some great stocking stuffers there, so that is what I plan to do with my coupon.

  2. Kelly

It is $25 before coupons or anything! I did this yesterday!

  3. louisa

Does buying gift cards count and generate the RRs?

    • richmelony

It did not when I bought some. but I called Walgreens and Catalina and they said they would look into it. the store manger called me today and said I could come in for the rewards:) I was happy! I made two transactions and will get $35 back. I did not see anywhere where it says that you could not get them. Plus I was able to use RR to help pay for the giftcards and other items I was buying.

      • David

This is not legal. The fine print on the Register Reward strictly prohibits using RR to buy giftcards.

        • Melissa

No, I think the person is trying to say they bought X amount in GCs and should have gotten the Super Jingle Cash. It doesn’t say in the ad GCs are excluded. You can’t turn around and use them (Super Jingle) to buy GCs with.
OK, N/M I see where they said they used RR to pay for GC…that you absolutely cannot do!

      • richmelony

The amount of the other items I was buying was more then the amount of the rerwards I used. As far as a reward printing out I asked the cashier and she thought it would and when it didn’t she told me to call about it. When I called I told them that I bought giftcards and thought that is the reason why it did not print and they too thought it would. I was buying the giftcards even without the jingle reward. If it was not for the cashier telling me to call I would not of thought of it.

        • Jermy

I work at Wags and they showed us all a email that the DM sent us saying that Gift cards, stamps, phone cards, cigarettes, etc. will not generate jingle rewards. :(.

          • richmelony

That makes sense. I wonder why the people I called did not know that. Walgreens even had me call catalina and they said that I should of gotten one. They should have had it stated on the ad.

            • louisa

I agree! Walgreens should make it clear if GBs will generate RRs or not ๐Ÿ™

      • Jan

Doesn’t the nationwide television ad for this promotion show an image of a gift card being included?

  4. Nicole

Diapers/training pants are BOGO free this week so if I buy 6 it would be $53.94 before the free ones, 26.97 after free ones, and 16.97 after $10 RR for spending over $50. Thats only $2.83 per package!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So, the Jingle Cash is earned on the amount spent BEFORE in-store promotions (BOGO) also?? I was trying to figure that out…and was hoping that was the case!

      • Melissa

Yes! I bought BOGO free toy and BOGO Nature Made vitamins along with some other stuff, my subtotal was well over $50 BEFORE I used my manf q’s and then the register deducted the free items!! I paid about $18 for everything and got the $10 Super Jingle!!

    • Mom of 3

sweet deal! Thanks so much for sharing. After a round of the stomach flu, my supply of diapers has dwindled! ๐Ÿ™

  5. Carlene

It wont let me print the Crayola Pop Art Pixies Product coupon. I liked them on FB and then when I click on the Crayola Pop Art Pixies Product coupon it tells me my computer is not allowing cookies when clearly my computer says it is. Bummer . ๐Ÿ™

    • Megan

I was having the same problem when I tried to print them using Firefox but when I opened the page in Internet Explorer they printed with no problem at all. HTH.

      • FIFSTER

weird, I printed them using firefox….I wonder why some people have problems and some don’t, funny how that works.

      • Carlene

Thanks so much!! It worked when I opened in IE.

  6. FIFSTER

Has anyone actually seen the Crayola Pixies at Walgreens? The coupon says they are available at Target, Toy’s R US and Michaels. I didn’t find them on the Walgreen’s website either.
If Walgreen’s doesn’t carry the Pixies’ then the deal is no good.

    • Marcie

      my store here has them.

    • Sara

I checked tonight- I saw one by the crayons/markers, but the sign for them was by the books in the toy aisle.

  7. Carrie

My Walgreens made me purchase 25.00 AFTER coupons to get the $5.00 ๐Ÿ™

    • Kristin

The cashier that was checking you out? Or the register did not print it?

    • Laney

Same here. My total before coupons was over $50 & my final total was $28. It only printed a $5 Jingle Reward. I have called corporate to let them know. My store manager said it was after coupons, but the Wags website says otherwise. I’m bummed tonight!

      • Maria

I read somewhere on one of the posts that if you ask your cashier what your total is before you hand over the coupons, then that would help trigger the RR. So maybe it’s something you should try. Last Sunday, I bought printer ink and wasn’t expecting the Jingle cash to print because I was using RR’s to pay for it. The manager rang me up and even explained the jingle cash. I said huh, I wasn’t sure if it was before or after q’s. And he said, he thought it was after, but apparently not!

        • Amanda

The trick (told to me from the best Wags cashier EVER!!!) is to have them scan everything you’re buying- THEN give them your Wags rewards card. That way it takes the amount before instead. Hope that makes sense.

  8. Lacy

I got many great deals this week! In fact, I couldnt figure out how I got a $10 register reward when I only spent $24! And on top of that, I got another $13 back on top of that! That means I only spent 1 dollar for over 60 dollars worth of product!

    • Melissa

Actually….no you spent $24 in YOUR money and converted it to $23 in Walgreens ‘money’, loosing $1 (break even would have been getting $24 in return, anything over $24 would have been a moneymaker). I can’t tell you how I hate when deals are posted where the ‘earned rewards’ are deducted on that transaction! What do you do when you spend it?? You can’t count it twice. Most of the time, when I do deals, I’m rolling what I’ve already earned, so I’m either coming out even or increasing my RRs or ECBs. Very rarely do I loose drug store ‘money’, unless like I did yesterday and blew a $9.99 ECB to get the Zhu Zhu pets free @ CVS.

      • Maria

Melissa, why do you have to rain on her parade? She is excited with her deals! Let her have it.

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

        It’s “lose”, not “loose”…

    • jen

I agree. Its double dipping to count the RR or Catalinas you receive in one purchase and count them again when you spend them on another purchase. I don’t think she was trying to rain on her parade, just making the point that counting them twice is double dipping and not an actual accounting of what was spent.

  9. Misty

I am planning my deals now, I want to go to the store tomorrow and get to $100.00, before coupons, so I can get a $20.00 jc to buy a pillow pet. Both my daughters want one, and since you can only use 1 of the special Jingle Cash per transaction, I am hoping to get lots of rr deals to spend on toys later, and stock up on things I need. If my math is working right, I am going to buy $101.35, before coupons, and after $35.00, and leave with over $50.00 in rr. Wish me luck.

  10. Leslie

Let’s hope we can all find some good deals next week to use all of our jingle cash we are earning.

  11. Ann

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the 4 day ad online? I have the weekly ad but can’t see the coupons and deals specifically starting tomorrow.

    • Jaclyn

This website always has the ads. It has the 4 day ad & also next week. ;)www.iheartwags.com/

      • Ann

Thank you for your help. I’m making a strategy tonight!

  12. Toni

Booo! Didn’t know dairy was excluded ๐Ÿ™ Total was 25.15 but I bought some milk :((

    • Gloria

I did the same thing with eggs. ๐Ÿ™

    • amanda

I did that too ๐Ÿ™ wish they had more clear exclusions…

  14. Amy

I was just there and they first took off all of my coupons, and then I got jingle cash. bummer. I guess it depends on the store?

  15. Michele

  17. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

My total at the start was $83.00 minus Walgreen coupons, manufacture coupons, $20.50 in RR for a total of $41.00 and got $15 RR for over $75 purchased, $5 RR for buying 4 Scunci hair products, and $4 RR for Nivea Men’s body wash so for a final total of $17.00!!

I was very surprised I got $5 RR for every $25 spent before coupons.

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I would really like to know whether this is before coupons or after coupons before I make my list?? Should I just ask my individual store. It looks like some said they didn’t get Jingle cash until after coupon amt??

Has anyone from MI tried this & if so where are you located??

  19. Lisa

Woo Hoo! Had a great run!!!!!!!!!

6 Wags Brand Pull Ups (different sizes and will exchange as I need so I didn’t clear the shelves in the size I really needed)
3 wipes (had $2 peelies WYB Wags Dipes, etc on them, so free! But watch it, they only scanned at $1, and the manager overode it as $2)
2 Pixie Pop Arts (They had the stationary set, the charm bracelet set and the H2O bottle set)
1 can cashews (for Chex mix, yum!)
    6 Candy Cane pens (fillers!)

$75.33 before coupons, $5.xx AFTER coupons (used some RRs from Natrol deal). And I got $15 RR back!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!

    • Mom of 3

that’s awesome Lisa! Congrats! And thanks for the info. on the W wipes…I wouldn’t have known if it wasn’t for you. Clean hineys are in my future! ๐Ÿ˜›

    • Nicole

Lisa, were the coupons for the wipes on the boxes of wipes or on the diapers? I didnt see any at the Walgreens I went to today but I will stopping at another tonight. Wondering where to look for them. Were they only on a certain kind of wipe? Thanks!

      • Lisa

The $2 peelie was on the tubs and I also saw one one the refills. i bought the tubs because they were only $1.99, so basically free. The coupon scanned at $1, I guess because of the BOGO sale, but the manager changed it. AND they are manufacturer coupons on Wags brand, so technically, you should be able to use as many q’s as dipes…technically ๐Ÿ™‚ but a big YMMV. Good luck!

        • Nicole

Thanks for the heads up on the coupons! I did this tonight. Had to dig for some wipes with the coupons but I found them. Coupons did ring up at only $1 but the cashier changed them to $2! When I got done she said wow, do you want to do that transaction again! Great deal! Thanks again!

  20. Jennifer

What was the email when RR did not print? My Revlon, Hallmark, and $5 for $25 did not print.

  21. kristen

I went to 5 Walgreens today and finally found the Pop Art Pixies. When I got to the register the sales associate said they were no longer taking internet coupons. I just said okay and canceled my order. Is this against company policy? Should I have complained?

  22. megan

i do not like these super JRs. they only last for 6 days and you can only use 1 per transaction. serious pain.

  23. Kellye

I just had a GREAT trip…but I bought eggs. If only I had bought 3 boxes of gelatin…the super jingle cash would have been mine. I figured it out too late. $26.41 before Qs but with eggs….$24.43 before Qs without the eggs. Not bad, though. $8.59 OOP, then $7.50 back in JC. I had hoped for $12.50, but NOW I know. Hope everyone else catches it BEFORE!! Merry Christmas!

  24. Cali

    Here’s what I did today!

    6 Walgreens Brand diapers (Bogo) $8.99 = 53.94
    – bogo sale $26.97
    – (6) $1/1 Wags brand diapers from Redplum.com (zip 97045)
= total oop $20.97 and got a $10 Jingle cash!!

I didn’t see the $2/1 wipes peelies but I got a RR coupon for $1/1 when I bought the diapers. If you are needing wipes there’s a $1/1 Huggies IVC and a $1/1 huggies manu from the insert a couple of weeks ago. Makes them 99ยข per tub or .015 per wipe.

  25. Jill

I have a question. I used a $1 off Glide floss coupon, and no register reward came out. I asked the cashier and he said you don’t get them if you use a coupon on Proctor and Gamble products. That made no sense to me, so I called Customer Service and they said the same thing. Is that really the case? The Customer Service lady also said that anytime I use a manufacturer’s coupon it cancels the register reward. That I know isn’t true. It makes me like CVS and Rite-Aid even more.

    • crockett_riley

That’s at bunch of baloney. This is why I hate corporate sometimes.
Logically, if it was true then why would they advertise right beside the ad for an item that there is a coupon in Sunday’s paper? I would call again….and email:)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I just ran into a similar problem. I bought toothpaste (among other items) that advertised a $1.50 Jingle Buck. I paid for my bill using a $2 Jingle Buck and didn’t get the new Jingle Buck. When I asked why I didn’t get the $1.50 Jingle Buck, the manager said you can’t use a Jingle Buck to pay for an item for which you will receive a Jingle Buck. I asked if this was a new policy, & he said no, it’s always been like that. I argued that that were impossible b/c since Walgreens began it’s Register Rewards program I’ve been using my RR to pay for items that earned me new RR. He swore up & down that couldn’t be. I think Walgreens changed its policy, but has failed to inform its customers!

  26. Shannan

does anyone know if the Super Jingle Cash will roll? it looks like they are continuing this promo next week also, but will be a bummer if I can’t roll it!

  27. Jamie

Just wondering…I went to the wags site and because I dont have my ad any longer, I printed the coupons from online. Will they take those? Also, the ads that come in the mail, are they the same as the ones in the store?? Like do they have the same coupons in them?
