Walmart: Better than FREE Olay & Herbal Essences Gift Packs (After Rebate)

Remember the Allure magazine rebate offer I posted about here?! Although many of you were able to take advantage of this great deal, the gift packs did end up selling out online. Well, I have good news for those of you who missed out! According to more than a handful of Hip2Save readers, you can snag the Olay and Herbal Essences Gift Packs (which include includes a one year subscription to Allure Magazine or any one of 5 other publications OR you can opt for a $9.99 refund) for just $5 at your local Walmart store. They are supposedly marked down to just $5 – make sure to do a price check as Walmart prices do tend to vary by location.  If you can find these gift sets for $5, then after the $9.99 rebate, you can turn this deal into a $4.99 moneymaker (or an even bigger moneymaker if you have manufacturer’s coupons)!

I just got back from Walmart and got some good deals on personal care items. They have all their “gift sets” marked down to 50% off. So… I got two Herbal Essence sets (1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 gel, 1 body splash) with an Herbal Essence coupon for buy one shampoo and get one styling product free. The sets were $5 each and I got $3.23 off the second. So I got all of that for only $6.77. Then I got two of the Olay sets — one that had 1 Ribbons body wash, 1 Secret body splash, 1 razor, 1 puff, and a caddy. The other had 1 body wash, 1 body lotion, slippers, caddy and 1 febreeze candle. They were $5 and $7.50 respectively. Used a buy an Olay body wash and get an Olay hand and body moisturizer (up to $7) free. So… $7.50 for all. Lastly I got another of the $5 body moisturizer sets and used a $2 off coupon. So I paid $15.27 for 2 shampoos, 2 conditioners, 3 Secret body splashes, 2 small gels, 3 Ribbons Olay body wash, 2 Olay lotions, a febreeze candle, a sample sized Pantene, a razor, 2 caddies, a poof, spa slippers and those special little socks that keep the lotion on your feet. 🙂 I like to break it down by average cost per item… $0.69 each. Woot Woot!
