Remember the Allure magazine rebate offer I posted about here?! Although many of you were able to take advantage of this great deal, the gift packs did end up selling out online. Well, I have good news for those of you who missed out! I just got back from Walmart and got some good deals on personal care items. They have all their “gift sets” marked down to 50% off. So… I got two Herbal Essence sets (1 shampoo, 1 conditioner, 1 gel, 1 body splash) with an Herbal Essence coupon for buy one shampoo and get one styling product free. The sets were $5 each and I got $3.23 off the second. So I got all of that for only $6.77. Then I got two of the Olay sets — one that had 1 Ribbons body wash, 1 Secret body splash, 1 razor, 1 puff, and a caddy. The other had 1 body wash, 1 body lotion, slippers, caddy and 1 febreeze candle. They were $5 and $7.50 respectively. Used a buy an Olay body wash and get an Olay hand and body moisturizer (up to $7) free. So… $7.50 for all. Lastly I got another of the $5 body moisturizer sets and used a $2 off coupon. You can enter info online if you want the magazine. If you want the money back, you have to send in the form.
once again ONLY one rebate will be reimbursed. i used to work for conde nast and meredith and it’s very unlikely you’ll get a second rebate UNLESS you put it in your husbands/mothers/daughters/sons name of course!
I did this three times myself at my Walmart in MN. Be sure purchase them in separate transactions as you need original receipts and use a different mailing address for each rebate. They will not rebate to the same address more than once.
You can only do the magazine subscriptions online. To get the rebate it is a mail in thing.
I thought that you only needed copies–but still separate transactions.
Bought the kit and went online to get the subscrption. It said “That code has already been used”,. So I called the 1-800 number and the guy said, “Yes, that code has been used”. I am upset because I just opened the box and I want the free subscription. Has anybody had the same problem?
My code says it has already been used too. The box was unopened and the card was at the bottom…not sure how it could have been used already.
I bought 4 of these tonight, 1 Olay and 3 Herbal’s. 3 of mine worked (I actually got the magazines, I like to read too much), and 1 did not. It was in an unopened box. I guess I might as well not call, doesn’t sound like it does any good.
I did this deal this morning with the herbal essence gift packs. They were on clearance for $5.00. I used the BOGO coupon from yesterday’s P&G. The max value for that coupon is $3.23 and i also used the $1 off coupon, so I paid $5.77 for both and each contain the mag subscription which I can submit for $9.99 each.

Did these coupons beep at all? My Walmart is crazy with coupons…the past few times I used coupons the cashier calls a manger before she even scans the coupon to ask if she can accept it. What’s up with that? If they don’t beep I can used them at the self check-out.
Coupon did not beep at my store. I was shocked that it went through without even a blink from the cashier.
The coupons didn’t beep at all for our Proglide Razor Gift Sets, but we didn’t use the Herbal Essences or Olay coupons. I presume they wouldn’t because the Proglide ones went through just fine 🙂
I opted to do the magazines for Bday presents coming up…. Not bad to pay for the sets for me with coupons and use the magazines for the sisters B’day presents coming up in January. I wasn’t eligible for any more rebates had used up all addresses prior to this.

I just got back from Walmart with the gift pack that contains the Olay creme ribbons body wash, the Venus shavers, the net sponge and a Secret scent Expressions body splash. Is that the same pack you bought?

Walmart in Hoover,Al has lots of the Gillette, Olay, and Herbal Essence sets over near the shampoo section. All the coupons worked except bogo for Olay.

The WalMart in New Orleans would not accept any of my coupons unless they actually said it was for a gift set. I asked them to try scanning a coupon for an item in a gift set (such as the $4.00 off a Gillette Razor) and it worked in the machine. But the managers voided the transaction and told me they wouldn’t do it.

I also found the holiday glade stuff, for some reason my store has loooooooads of them. I wasn’t too impressed with the scents this year but I got a few, the most notable was the glass holder – all the items were marked down to $1.14, and the printable on the right@home site gives $1/1 glass holder. The sprays were $1.50/2, and the small candles were $1/2. I believe the scented oil refill was also $1/2. I’m gonna print a couple more from my husbands laptop and see if I can grab more if they go over 50% off. Also, did anyone’s store have a massive amount of those red plastic cookie tubs – a few sizes, but a round, 4″ deep carrier with a lid? I think they were $3/ea normally. My store seems to have thousands of them. I hope they go 75% I’m gonna grab tons of those. They stack well and would be great for next year.
I received a letter stating that I had exceeded my refund limit. I received one rebate of the two that I sent in. I guess it is a one rebate limit.

The form states “copy of the valid receipt.” I just sent in copies and used the original for the Olay $20 rebate. Hope it works!
If anyone has reached their rebate limits and/or doesn’t want the mags, I’m short for the Olay/Herbal Essences rebate, and I’d appreciate the receipts. I’m pretty sure my WalMart was out of these before Christmas and I’m too pregnant to bother hitting other stores.
Mine would not take my Olay coupon for the gift set with the caddy. In fact they didn’t even try.

There are coupons in the box. I bought one, opened it, removed the 2.00 coupon and bought another. Did this several times right at the register. The cashier got a kick out of it!!!
I just got my form in the mail today—I was denied any rebate. I didn’t even get 1!!!! Although online it does not state 1 per mailing address, when I called they said that. I wrote the BBB and consumer reports because they did not give me any refunds!!!! It is outrageous.
Ive tried printing the form for the rebate and it doesnt allow me to print. Can we just include our information on a regular piece of paper along with the receipt and allure card? PLEASE help =(

I tried to figure out the same thing. Finally, I just decided to use the print button right above the “rebate” page (not sure “area” of the screen that is called!) so that it would print the entire screen and I just sent in the portion that had the form on it. I hope that it works, because it’s the only thing I could figure out how to do since there was not a “print this form” tab. HTH!
So if you buy 2 gift sets and get 2 cards for the free mag sub can you use one card and get the rebate and then use the other to get the mag sub?

BE CAREFUL! Not so sure Allure magazine is going to honor these rebates. I received a letter from Glamour (head company) today stating, “Unfortunately, we are unable to process your request for a refund because the refund request exceeds the maximum allowable refund threshold.” Not really sure what they are saying here but to me it means I am not getting my $9.99 back. I bought two back around Thanksgiving time and sent everything out the very next day. I did buy two packs and had the rebate sent to two different addresses. I have not received anything at my other address so we’ll see what pans out there. I am going to call the 1-800-274-7410 number tomorrow and ask some questions but if they aren’t going to honor the refund, I am really bummed!
Jodi I got the same letters today, as stated above. I complained to them on the phone but they didn’t care. I decided to write to the BBB and let Glamour know that.
I can’t believe they wouldn’t even honor 1 request!! After all that, I can’t take the items back since an original receipt was required.
my walgreens has the holiday glade room sprays for $1.45 and there were coupons in one of the inserts for $1/1..im not sure which since i already had the coupons clipped! I then went on to find several small glade home fragrance soy candles and scented oil candles in the clearance section for $1.65-1.89 a piece and was able to use two of the $3/3 glade product coupons! the cashier was so excited and shocked when she told me i saved over $12 by using coupons on items that were already marked down! ahh sweet success 🙂

Different mags to choose from, different end date (1/31/11), and refund value looks like $12. I wonder if I submit the Febreze, will it count against my “household limit” for the Olay/Herbal Essence rebate??

So it sounds like several people who mailed off for the rebate a while back are starting to receive back letters that state that the rebates have run out. The form does say…..while supplies last. Im wondering if they are all gone? Should I even waste a stamp to mail my forms in? I wish I had known this yesterday, I would have never bought one 🙁
I bought 14 of the Herbal Essences gift sets…will I be able to do the rebate on all of them? Should I even bother trying? It’s a copy of the receipt, so I’m thinking if I don’t get the rebate within 90 days, I can still return everything to Walmart.

Just wanted to give you an update on the Allure redemption process: I received two of those gift packs for Christmas, and I decided to get the magazines instead of the rebate. When I tried to enter my codes, they kept saying “invalid code.” I called the Customer Service number that was listed and spoke with a super nice customer service rep. She had me give her both of the codes, asked me which 2 magazines I wished to receive, and put the order through for me. I was very happy!! 🙂

I am having trouble printing the refund form. Maybe it is my printer but thought I would ask if anyone else has had the same trouble. After all I am reading above I wonder if sending these in is really worth it. At least I paid very little for the gift sets!

I tried that tool bar print. I just wonder if my ink is low. I will try it with new ink or at another printer. I wonder too about sending it in at all! Maybe we would have better luck trying to get the free magazines!
I did this on four packs all with different addresses and I got a letter back for all of them. Unable to process to rebate. So looks like I’m out $40 because I bought four of them. Dang it.
I bought five of the gift sets and received one rebate in the mail for $9.99 and just got a letter yesterday stating that my other requests for the rebates were denied because it’s limited to one per household so I called customer service because it does not state anywhere on the rebate form that it is limited in any way. I also already have a subscription to Glamour and don’t want their other magazines so I told them this and was told that I would be given rebates for the other four gift sets. She said she wasn’t sure if they’d send me one total check or four individual rebates but that she’s credit the account and rebates would be mailed. Hopefully this actually happens but I do plan to press the issue because, as I said, it does not state anywhere on the rebate form that there is a limit of one per household.
I don’t know if anyone said this already, but there is another magazine rebate at Walmart. I saw that there are Christmas dishes on sale for $12.50 (from $25). It is a 12 piece set – 4 plates, 4 salad dishes, and 4 bowls with poinsettas on them. There is a free magazine subscription for Good Housekeeping (I think). It says right on the box that if you don’t want the subscription you can get $6 instead. I think that $6.50 is a good deal for the dishes, but I didn’t splurge on them 🙂
They told me they wouldn’t accept any of my coupons on the gift sets at Walmart in Palmyra, PA. I was REALLY bummed.
Does your Walmart have a self-checkout? If so, that’s what I did, just used the self-checkout and I was able to use the gillette and olay coupons!
I was able to buy two olay gift sets yesterday at Walmart. Both were marked down to $5. They took the BOGO for the one and $1 off the other one. Spent $4 for both and can either send in for the rebates of get the magazines. Great deal even if I just get the products!

OMG!!! Went to walmart bought the olay set got home and saw it didn’t have the olay rebate card in it. I know it was suppose to because it said it on the front. I can’t believe someone would do that. I consider that stealing. But whatever, my cashier entered the coupon for $5 off so it made it .42 cents. Can’t complain. But REALLY??
I’m not sure if any one is still reading this but, the walmart in Greenfield, IN had the sets marked down to $2.50 (use the $2/1 MC, so it’s $0.50 OOP, + a magazine subscription). They also had the Olay regenerist with moisturizer gift packs for $5 (use the $3/1 MC from the 12/26PG) and it’s $2 for two full size Olay face products! FYI- These items were located in the Cosmetic area, NOT the Christmas Clearance section.
