I got this ….We’re sorry, but you can’t use Deal Bucks for this deal

    • Kelsey

Oh dang! It’s still a good deal though.

    • Laura C

I got the same, very clear, message at checkout. At least they made it obvious to us so we don’t have to be wondering. Half off anything at Amazon can still be a great deal though, I’m thrilled with it!

      • Kelsey

Yeah at least they’re making it clear now but I would think that they would still honor the orders they said were going to be $5. But oh well.

    • Amy

I never got the message that said you couldn’t use deal bucks so hopefully it goes through ok as I used a Mastercard gift card from Christmas with a $6 balance left on it as payment. Everything still listed as pending.

  2. Annalea

Aww! WTH? It won’t let people use the $5 Deal Bucks credit for this deal anymore. 🙁

    Oh well… $10 for a $20 GC is still a great deal.

    • Laura

I was also charge 10.00 it’s a awesome deal but they shouldn’t of showed you were only pay 5.00 at check out.

  3. LaToya

I don’t see my $5…I just signed up so I am new…and it says deal bucks can’t be used on this deal.

go here https://help.livingsocial.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=15162 to see the reasons for the charges…
Why was my card charged twice?

Sorry for any confusion…but rest assured LivingSocial would never intentionally charge you inaccurately for a deal purchase.

If you’re looking at your bank account online and see what appears to be two charges for your deal – you’re likely seeing two things:

the ‘actual charge’ for the deal, which will remain, and
the ‘authorization to charge’ for the deal, which will drop from your account in a few business days.

        Here’s how it works:

When you purchase your deal, your bank immediately places an ‘authorization’ for the full list price (no credits or Deal Bucks applied) of the deal on your account. This confirms that you have the credit line or funds available if using a debit card, to make the purchase.

If you make multiple purchases of the same deal or change/edit your credit card while making your purchase, you may see multiple authorizations on your account.

When the ‘charge’ is processed, any credits due (Deal Bucks, referrals, etc…) are applied and the ‘reduced’ price is what actually gets charged to your account. Following the successful completion of the purchase, the ‘authorization’ is removed from your account leaving only the one line item for your purchase.

We hope this clarifies things and alleviates your concern. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact us.

I just checked my debit card statement & they charged me $10 instead of the $5 I agreed too! WTH!!

    • Laura

in their FAQs sections it has an answer that I think matches this…here it is copied and pasted

You are not able to use deal bucks for this deal…just save them for the next one, this is already a HOT deal!!

Get an extra $5 when you sign up: https://livingsocial.com/redeem_invite/21446504-erocks?ref=lnk

We have 3 in diapers/training pants so we are loving this deal!!!! Especially when you combine the Amazon Mom deal with this….yay!!

    • Sandra

Darn, all I could find under LivingSocial offers was one for Segway rentals in my area. I clicked on it and then went through and purchased the Amazon deal. I don’t see any Swagbucks yet, so maybe I could only get them if I bought the initial deal for my area (Segway tours)?

Oops, this reply should have gone under someone else’s swagbucks post. Sorry!

      • Amanda

Oh I get it!! Click on any of the deals but buy the gift cards! Thanks!!! 🙂

  6. Laura C

Go through your Swagbucks! Someone posted it earlier in the comments, but it took me a while to figure out how to do it.

Go to the “Earn” tab (across the top of the Swagbucks screen) and then go to “Daily Deals” and click on any of the Living Social tabs. I clicked through the Living Social deal for racing tickets in Richmond, and then once there I bought the Amazon gift card. Within 5 minutes I got the Swagbucks in my account!!!

    • Amy

Thanks for posting these. I found out you could get the SWAGBUCKS but someone told me you had to log in again after your purchase so I think I missed out on it as it has been an hour and NO SB. Hopefully it will work for someone else but doing it how YOU described.

      • Nichole

My husband and I did it through the exact same link on Swagbucks; one of us got our Swagbucks instantly and one still has not. I have no idea what to do about that. Cancel the order and try again? I couldn’t find a way on Swagbucks to contact TrialPay.

    • M

GOT IT!!! Thanks so much for the post!! I can now get a $5 gc from Swagbucks!! Awesome deal!!! 🙂

      • KP

What city are you in to find the Living Social deal on Swagbucks?

    • Nicole

Thanks. I always forget about the swagbucks!!

    • Stacey

Help…trying to go through the “earn” tab, but my daily deals is just giving me the ones in my area??? No option to select any “living social”???

      • Amanda

        That’s my problem, too!

      • Nichole

Are you on the Trial Pay tab? That’s where the Living Social deals are.

        • Bonnie Lacroix

I am there and it will not pull up Living Social…instead I get Groupon?

    • Amanda

I still can’t find the swagbucks deal!!

    • Rei

      Awesome! Thanks!

    • Anonymous

Hi, could you please let me know how to get swagbcuks and also sign up using someone’s link? I’m new to living social, so I’m happy to sign up through someone’s link, but also want to go through swagbucks and get the 280 swagbcuks as well. In which order should I go through?

      Any help is appreciated!

  7. jwhogan8989

Okay. Got my deal done, but too bad about not being able to use the extra $5 on this deal. Hey, half off is better than none off on Amazon, right?

Now, here’s another opportunity to earn an extra $5 when you sign up and help me out as well. Click the link: https://livingsocial.com/redeem_invite/21444799-jwhoga?ref=lnk

  8. Kelsey

So if you’ve had three people sign up under your link is your deal still free??

  9. Kelsey

This is under their FAQs :

Can I use deal bucks to purchase my Amazon Gift Card?

Sure! If you’re one of the lucky ones to have deal bucks on your account, these will automatically get applied towards the purchase of your Amazon.com gift card.

Getting an Amazon.com gift card with deal bucks? Now that’s a really great deal!

    Thanks for LivingSocial!

  10. lisa

    My deal bucks won’t apply

    • Amy

I never got the message that my Deal Bucks won’t apply. Curious to see what happens as I used a Mastercard gift card with a small balance left on it for Christmas as payment.

    • Smitha

      Same for me too

  11. Dena

    Thanks…another way to save:)

  12. Delene

Thanks Collin!! I did the deal thru a link on Special offers on Swagbucks.. So I also got 280 Swagbucks too 🙂

  13. Sandra

Did anyone get any email confirmation from livingsocial? I have not received anything from them and it shows my Amazon deal as “pending”.

    • Amy

I read the FAQ and here’s what it says………

“Alright, I bought a deal. Now, how do I use it?

First, wait for the deal to be over. There is a running clock on each deal and once time expires, we process everyone’s credit cards. You’ll receive an email the following day saying your deal is ready to be used. Either click on the link in the email to print your deal voucher, or sign into your account at livingsocial.com. Click on “MY DEALS” at the top of the page. Print your deal voucher, follow the redemption instructions, and go be social!”

      • Sandra

        Thanks Amy!

  14. amanda

Does any one know if this is going to be mailed to us. Because I cant seem to see my address, and I wanted to make sure.

    • Amber V

It’s for use on amazon.com. It will be like groupon, where you can print or view the certificate to obtain the code that you can apply to your amazon.com account.

  15. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

my friend invites are not showing up.

  16. mrspatota

FYI– In my area (Baltimore/ DC), Living Social is also in the daily deal section of swagbucks. If you go through their link, you’ll earn 280 swagbucks!

  17. RK

Can you purchase from multiple cities (i.e. San Francisco and Orlando)? It says one per person, so does that apply to Living Social site wiide?

  18. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow, I came on here for helpful comments, not expecting to see a flood of referal link request! I think we should consider that this is Collin’s site that she puts her hard work into, that we do not pay a dime for…she should get all of the referal credits she can; after all we are getting an amazon GC for half price. That makes it a win win for all of us.

    • Emily

      Agree!!

    • TERESITA BABCOCK

The majority of us have signed up through Collin’s link already! I’m pretty sure she isn’t going to be pist when she has $100’s of dollars worth of credits for the 10 minutes it took her to post this. Collin reaps the benefits of us using her links on all these types of refer a friend type deals. It takes 2 seconds to scroll through all the referral links anyways. I appreciate all that Collin does for us, I certainly don’t want to find the time to search the web for all the deals and I think it’s okay to help each other out once in a while!

  19. Erin

It wouldn’t let me use the $5 towards the deal of the day 🙁 Oh well, 50% off is still awesome!

  20. Kari Bross

    Found it finally

  21. Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I used Amanda’s link so she can get diapers! Thanks Collin but I’m sure you have lots of credits for this site. And…..lets not forget that Collin does make money off her blog. Not that that’s a bad thing, we can all start our own blog and make money too if we want to!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Agreed! Plus this site is to help everyone, it is called Paying It Forward?? I am sure many of us have emailed Collin with deals to post and so do fellow bloggers. I appreciate EVERYTHING Collin does for us but if we can help one another shouldn’t we?

  22. Angel S.

You can get 280 swagbucks if you go through swagbucks special offers trial pay tab to take advantage of this:

    • Jami

Still can’t find the swagbucks deal!

  23. Kristin

Yay! $10 for $20 at Amazon – woohoo! I missed out on the last deal that was posted like this, so I am super excited! Thanks, Collin!!
