Thanks so much! I’m on the South Beach Diet and no longer use “regular” flour. I can’t wait to try this! Thank you!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How do you use it? Same as regular white flour or wheat flour?

      • Amy

You can use it as a flour substitute, but if you can handle gluten it’s best to stick with wheat flour imo. Alternative kinds of flour don’t work quite as well in most cooking/baking, and tend to have a different flavor/texture. HTH! 🙂

      • emilytwinmom

I have to eat gluten free and have had awful luck with this flour. Most of the Bob’s Red Mill alternatives to “normal flour” make things taste funny, especially baked goods. Don’t go for it unless you have experience with this flour and have found the secret to making it work! I sure haven’t!

        • tracy

You have to mix it with other flours. check out the “Gluten free baking classics”. Awsome cook book for GF baking. The book will tell you how to mix the flours.

Does anyone know if there are any available amazon diaper codes this month. I have been looking in Parents and Parenting and it doesn’t look like either one has any. I am just wondering if anyone knows of where I can get some or which magazines, if any, have codes this month? Thanks! marissa_rostad@hotmail(dot)com

    • Liz

I was bummed that both my parents and parenting didn’t have any codes 🙁

    • Laurie

Ditto. Guess they got wise to us all raking in the bargains on Amazon’s diapers! I still have some from last month that don’t expire til 3/31, all YJ 20% off. I’d be willing to trade a couple of them for a couple YT codes.

I also have a coupon that expired 2/28 for a FREE can of SIMILAC, if anyone can use expireds, email me at farmerjo78 at yahoo dot com and you can have it.

I think mine came in baby talk this time.

      • Megan♥

Yeah, my Parent’s didn’t have one either…only Baby Talk, which had the $10 off. 🙁 I hope they start giving them out again!

how do you use Brown Rice Flour? What can you use it in?

    • kelly tillotson

my son has food allergies—so i make a homemade rice milk since he cant have cows milk. you can by rice dream–but its not that healthy for you. by using the rice flour, rice protien powder and powdered calcium i can give my little a much healthier alternative!

anyone with a gluten intolerance probably uses it in baked goods? i havent experimented too much other than rice milk

      • Leah

Hi Kelly! I’m not saying this to be mean or hurtful in any way, but be super careful feeding your baby only rice milk. A lot of kids suffer from rickets as a result of being fed rice milk. My mom didn’t like feeding us cows milk products, so she gave us goats milk. I know it sounds weird, but its the closest thing to breast milk and is a lot easier for babies to digest. It was easy for my mom to do that since there was a goat farm right down the street from where we lived. But again, I’m just sharing my knowledge.

I am looking for coupons for any Gluten or wheat free foods … can any one give me any suggestions….

    • emilytwinmom

Udi’s baked goods have had coupons on coupons.com, and mambo sprouts has a few. As someone else suggested try writing to the companies, you’ll be surprised! I have found that some bloggers that are dedicated to blogging about gluten free products host giveaways from time to time, I even won a pkg of josef’s cookies on one!

  9. Julie

@Pam – Check out Mambo Sprouts, sometimes they have gf q’s.

  10. Amanda

Pam-email the companies and request them, I have had a lot of luck that way, they usually will mail some out to you!

I read this post because I am a celiac and have to use gluten free flour, but this isn’t the best flour to work with unless you are a really experienced baker! I wanted to offer up my recommendation because it took me two years to find it and I wish someone had told me earlier! I use The Gluten Free Pantry’s All Purpose Flour, you can substitute it cup for cup with “real flour” in recipes. It tastes and bakes just like gluteny old flour! It gets a tad weird if you are baking something with upwards of four cups of flour in it, but that’s a lot of flour for anything to handle. I use it to make cut out cookies, fried chicken and shrimp, chinese food, cookies, everything!

I promise I’m not a rep for the company or anything, I just wanted to spread the word to other celiac sufferers 🙂

Can someone explain Amazon’s Prime membership? Is this also what is being called the mom membership? Alot of deals posted include being a prime member. I went to Amazon to check it out and it costs $79 a year I think. Is this worth the savings and do you have to pay the $79 upfront? I have never purchased anything from amazon and now that I have a 6 month old I’m wondering if it is cheaper to buy diapers on Amazon. I appreciate any help on the subject. Thanks so much..
