i checked it out but i’m unclear on how to get it free. do i have to call my cable company? or is it only the app that is for free…totally confused.

I have Comcast, and the Showtime channels are not available, but I can go into On Demand to get Showtime. Maybe yours is the same. I don’t know why they did it like this. They usually have the channels available too, but there are movies and series On Demand.
Thanks for the heads up, Collin and crew 😉

In the past you just check what channel its on and you’ll be able to view. No need to contact cable company. If you need to pay you’ll usually get a display saying that you need to be a subscriber.

  4. Aly

Yes, I’m confused too. Anyone have further info?

Your cable company might only be airing Showtime On Demand. So, you need to go into On Demand from your remote. Comcast is also showing that I can get Showtime at xfinitytv.com,

    Awhh man I have dish….

You don’t have to do anything. Just change the channel to the showtime channel you want to watch or pick something on demand and it comes up. As you watch it will periodically scroll a message that you are watching a free trial weekend.

The moment I read this I went to our DirecTv dvr and searched for Return To Oz – my favorite movie. Yep, it’s already almost over. Missed it again!!! Thanks for the heads up tho, I was able to program a bunch of movies to record we haven’t seen yet 🙂 Yay!

I am having trouble finding it On Demand….. Which category do I pick once I get there? Thx

    • fran

Premium Channels, then you will see all the pay channels. Click Showtime, and you have your choice of movies, series, etc.

  14. Leslie

This only works for me through Comcast’s On Demand feature, which is fine with me. Luckily, I have nothing planned until Tuesday and am going to watch Homeland and a few of the other Showtime series. Thanks.

  15. Pam

I have charter and it works on the showtime channel but I can’t get it on demand. That’s what I wanted to see the series. Anyone else have charter?

  16. Britt

I have Comcast internet but don’t subscribe to their TV service. Does anyone know if I’ll still be able to watch it online?

    • fran

      xfinitytv.com
You should be able watch it online. Check it out 😉

I have Cox and I can only view things through the On Demand, as it says, but there’s a few movies in there I’d like to see and can then take out of the Netflix queue 🙂
