Check out some of the comments left by Hip2Save readers last time I highlighted this offer…
I got my $10 glasses today!!! My script is -7.5 and when with the cheapest (thickest) lenses that the deal includes, they aren’t coke bottle lens!!! SO HAPPY! This is the best hip2save deal so far!!!! Thank you!
What a great deal. I splurged on thinner lenses and UV/scratch/anti-reflective coatings, and still spent less than $50 (including shipping)! The website was very easy to use and included a video on how to understand your prescription. My order is estimated to arrive in only 4 days, and I can’t wait! As always, thank you Collin!
I got a pair last year, and they’re awesome. They were packaged so nicely too. They’ve actually held up much better than others that I’ve bought in store and paid hundreds for.
Love my glasses! I ordered on Sunday and they arrived three days later! Chose the cheapest shipping. I have recommended this site to everyone. The upgrades are dirt cheap so my glasses have every possible upgrade available. Love love love!!!!
sounds good to me! has anyone ordered progressives from this site? I’m wondering how much more that would cost… thanks, Collin! 🙂
I looked into the progressive lenses, but did not order. The cost was well over $100, which was not a bad price… but I am not willing to pay that much without trying them on first.
i completely agree with you. thanks, Laura! If I didn’t have such a complicated prescription (progressive trifocals), I’d be all over it. I’ll keep waiting for a good local Groupon deal 🙂
I just got my first pair free and I did not order progressives either, too expensive so i converted my RX to single vision which works great as reading but I can’t see very far with them. Order progressives with zennioptical.com Much Cheaper!
So glad this is still available! I got my pair a few months ago and keep getting complements on them. My boyfriend’s glasses are on their last leg so now I can get him a pair. Thanks for all the work you put into your blog!
Are sunglasses not included? =/
I’m pretty sure you just pay extra for the tint, but they don’t offer true wraparound sunglasses, just regular frames with the option to tint. (this is why I ended up at firmoo.com for my sunglasses, otherwise Coastal.com is great)
are wraparound sunglasses better, because they protect the eye more? or is that a style preference?
Does anyone know if prescription sunglasses are included or not?
So I’m trying to figure this out. I get the free frames from this site and then take them to my eye doctor for the correct prescription? Or do I get the prescription from this site? I’m so confused, please help!
No, you get the prescription from your dr then you order the complete correct prescription glasses from the site. The are sent to you ready to wear! Each pair I have ordered have come with a hard case and a little tightening tool to keep the screws in check.
When you pick qualifying frames scroll down and there is a place to enter your prescription, choose the type of lens you want (standard are free), choose the type of lens coating you would like, if you want it at all, its not required. Be sure to order through a rebate site! I know ebates has some % back so if you pay anything for any upgrade options you will get at least a little back.
Who is considered a new customer? My daughter has ordered a pair before. Is a new address or a new person?
If I remember right is one free pair per address but that was 8mo ago check the fine print under the offer or contact customer service they are really nice.
This is so great. I am long over due for a new pair but couldn’t afford it so this is a wonderful offer! Thank You for posting!
I got a pair for my husband 2 weeks ago and paid only for a couple of upgrades but did not have to pay for shipping. Btw the glasses are really nice and sturdy
Where do you enter the promo code? I dont see it…
It is at the very end, (after you input shipping info) right before you place order, you’ll be able to see your total and once coupon code is applied it’s adjusted. 🙂
Does anyone know if this deal will still be available tomorrow? I need to get my glasses prescription from my eye doctor.
Pretty sure it will because they seem to always be offering it. If not I have a code for a free pair that I will email you 🙂 it says valid for new customers only so its the same as the deal.
The code HIP2SAVEFREE is valid until 4/4/2012
Just wanted to say….I LOVE the glasses I ordered from coastal!! Best one’s I have ever had!!
This is such a great deal thanks for sharing 🙂
I just ordered my pair! My total went from $104 to $9.99 YEAHHH!
Love my Coastal glasses. Good price, have stood up very well to the abuse two small children hazard upon them. 🙂
I just got contacts and really needed a new pair of glasses too! Looks like I just lucked out.
Thanks so much! Just got mine ordered.
I just got a copy of my script from my eye doctor with intentions to buy from a site I know of that a family member ordered from. But then I saw this tonight and hopped right on this and ordered myself an $88 pair of Converse frames with lenses and only paid $10 for S&H. I’m super excited about this as I need a back-up pair. I even shared this deal with friends. Thank you!
Would anyone know how I could order glasses for my son who doesn’t need glasses sense he has 20/20 . He’s mom(me) wears glasses so he thinks he should get some. Rather not ruin his eyes.. any clues?? thanks 🙂
You can order them at “0” for the prescription
Yay! Glasses for $10….can’t beat that deal!
I would love to get in on this deal, i have eyeglasses that are basically no good now, they are broken on one side and i can’t even see out of them anymore…..meaning the strength is no longer good.
And they have invisible bi-focal and still not strong enough.
It has been about 3+ years now i think since i have had these glasses and my vision of course has changed. I paid out of pocket for my glasses, my insurance does not cover eyeglasses.
So, my question is “how do i get a script written from any place and how much will that script cost”?
Do i just go up to an eye place and walk in and ask for a script only? Can one even do that?
I don’t know if they allow that since i am sure they would want you to buy from them you know.
Any help given is deeply appreciated.
There are optometrists listed in the phone book, or ask a friend, or call Sears, JC Penneys, and a great one would be Costco. Make an appointment and when you are done, they will give you a piece of paper (your prescription) with numbers on it that you can use to order your glasses from the website that Collin has posted about here. You aren’t obligated to buy glasses from the place that checks your vision. I would say that a typical eye appointment from an optometrist would be anywhere from $35 to $100. HTH 🙂
Thank you sooooo much for this information. Will give it a try:)
I just had my daughters exam done at Walmart in MD for $45. Call and ask around, I’m sure you can find something reasonable.
Thanks for the great Deal! just had my eye exam on Sunday. Ordered them with the lighter weight and scatch resisitant coating. Now I’ll see if I can’t get hubby a pair!
Got mine ordered got the 2 day shipping cause i cant wait $15 for perscription glasses not to bad and they are supper cute
When I go to check out I do not see any place to put the promo code. Can anyone tell me where it is located? I have looked on every single screen, added, deleted and re-added to shopping cart. I have the promo code but do not see where to put it. Could anyone give me the location of where it needs to be? If not Ill call customer service and hope they give it to me.
It’s a ways down the line — it comes up after you enter in your address and select the type of shipping you want. It will bring you to an order summary page and that’s the one with the Promo Code box.
THANK YOU.
I got glasses from Coastal and they were very nice and 10 bucks shipped…legit company!
I don’t know- I am having trouble with the lenses they want me to buy the $50 lenses with my perscription, I can get a different one for less, but can’t decide?
I would get the lenses you normally buy. One thing to note is that if your total (before the HIP2SAVE code) is over $99, shipping is free. I have a -4.25 prescription and I got the 1.5’s from the doctor last year, but I thought they were too thick. I paid $19.95 to upgrade to the thin and durable lenses and got free shipping. I think $19.95 for new glasses is sweet!
I was able to get free shipping. The glasses I choose for my daughter we 88 and I added the scratch resistant, UV, and anti reflective coating for 19.99 and just paid the 19.99 shipping was then free. 🙂
My first order already arrived (5 day turnaround!) and they are fabulous!
However, it seems that their free shipping policy may have changed. I bought a pair on the 22nd and qualified for free shipping (over $100 before coupon). Paid $29.95 for the lens upgrade only. My hubby bought a pair tonight and the free shipping did NOT apply, even though our total was over $100 before the coupon. We were charged $9.95 for the shipping, since our post-coupon total was under $100. Still a great deal, though!
Is it one code per person then, rather than one per household?
