Yes. I pointed that out on the Facebook post about this “sale.” They jacked up the sale price so the final cost is the same as their 30% off sale. I’ve been tracking the prices of a couple of items, and they’re the same as they have been the last few sales.
Not for me! I got one at outlet last week when they had 50%off on top of sales price of $209. It is online now 50% off on top of the sales price of $179. I am getting one for my sister!

The prices seem much higher than the ones I have seen at the Coach outlet store in Texas. I guess they are doing a Kohl’s manouvre — handing out a coupon for twenty per cent off and simultaneously increasing the price by twenty per cent. Pretty purses though — but pricy for the outlet.
I’m a member too, and I know for a fact they just jacked up their prices before this sale!! I was eyeing a over the shoulder that was $80 3 days ago now it is $160 so with the 50% off $80. But 3 days ago I could have saved an additional ??% so disappointed in Coach right now…. 🙁

I went into the Coach Outlet this past Tuesday and received the 50%. In store the deal I got was great! The purse I got was originally $376 marked down to $240 at the outlet and with the 50% off I paid just $120 for a beautiful new purse!
You shouldn’t need to get a membership invite – those are referrals. When you sign up & purchase, the person that referred you gets $10. I signed up w/out one w/ no issues.
I am in the dark. I don’t mean to insult anyone, but I don’t get the appeal of these purses. They are so expensive regardless of the sale or discount. I can appreciate buying a leather handbag. So many these days are made of manufactured materials and do not last. But these leather bags still seem rather pricey. Re: the fabric ones, why get one that will get dirty? How do you even clean it? How long would it last? So, what’s the deal? Is it a name-brand status thing?
Ya, for me, it’s a name brand thing…..One of the few splurges in my life that I do. I do have some fabric ones and bought the Coach cleaner (which doesn’t seem to work). So I suggest buying darker colors or leathers. They are good quality so splurging on one and using it for along time is worth it.

For some it is a name brand thing. for others it is not. I have a few Coach purses but all of mine were gifts or bought at 2nd hand stores. They do hold up well though. And they have a pretty good warranty….
My problem is that Hip2Save is a great site and lists all the Coach deals but says a Vera Bradley purse is expensive.. And honestly I love all of my Vera’s (have almost every color). They hold up well too and are machine washable…
All of the Coach bags I have (I have a few) have held up VERY well. I have even spilled things on them and had a dog pee on one. No stains, cleaned very easily. No smell! Now, some cheaper bags I have gotten would’ve had problems!
Melissa, i think i am in the dark too 🙂 however i never was really a brend name person. I do like good quality things but i think for this money $200-300 you can buy couple of purses at tj maxx, macys etc and dont be upset if u have to throw them up when you just get bored of this.
I’d rather spent that money on comfortalble shoes 🙂
I want to add that i never throw things away when they can be still used, if for whatever reason i dont want/need things anymore- give it away.
Even with sale prices at outlet, I still can’t afford Coach. So yes, I don’t get it either. My dh would kill me if I spent more than $25 on a purse. Heck, most of my purses are hand me downs from my sis or from thrift store. Although if someone gifted me a Coach bag I certainly would not pass it up as long as the logo was subtle like the middle row of this post. I don’t get the ones where the logo is blasted all over the bag. They are such status symbols. Whenever I go to my boys’ school I feel like I’m the only Mom without a fancy Coach purse. Sigh.
I splurged and bought myself one of the black fabric ones last year for my birthday. I am VERY disappointed in it. I treated it like gold since I normally spend $40 tops for a leather purse at Marshalls or TJ Maxx. The fabric wore out on the bottom were it was pleated and even though it was black and I treated it like “gold” it showed dirt. It was definately not worth the $90 I spent on it. Never again, I learned a lesson on that purchase….
It’s to each their own. I like to update my handbags every so often, and a higher quality brand lastes a lot longer. This is the first time I’ve bought a Coach bag, but I buy a lot of Fossil and Lucky brand. I have has some of my bags for 5 to 6 years with regular use and they still look brand new. Instead of pricey makeup or $200 jeans, or a brand new iphone5, I like to carry nice leather bags. It’s the one splurge I give myself. Everyone has the “one” thing they like, and I like purses. I know it’s not for everyone (my mom says I’m crazy!) but I enjoy it 🙂 I might say they same things about what you enjoyed splurging on.
P.S. For a lot of people it is a status thing, the name brands. I buy them because they last much longer. And I don’t anyone was offended by your question!
I love name brand but only if that brand has a solid reputation of good quality and if it’s not ridiculously expensive. I do have to say that I’m getting sick of seeing those coach logo bags everywhere. And honestly, I don’t like to pay that kind of money to wear giant advertisements on my shoulders. Plus, what’s the appeal if everyone has them? I still love the less common leather Coach bags but I can’t justify paying $500 or $600 for them
I bought a nice leather bag on sale for $150, just in case you’re interested. It does say Coach on the side, but not too big. It’s the leather studded applique duffle. I just got it today and it is super cute!

I have an answer to this, I am an educated adult and a mom and I deserve better than anyone else’s average teenager. It sickens me to see they get better cars, accesories, etc without the work. At least with an Ipad / nice purse and such then I am at the same level as some but better than most. just saying!
Ps. Dont get me wrong. i also rave on clearance and have bought many $5-$10 bags… One brand bag a year is not gonna break the bank though. It cost less than some people’s other habits as well. I used to smoke and spent almost $200 a month on that and a bar tap also $$$ , it’s just picking your bad habit. Coach purse make me happy 😀
I totally understand what you mean. I feel that way for electronics. But for me, I love these purses because I carry them for a long time. I spent $89 and got a beautiful bag. I could go to Target or a kiosk at the mall and buy a purse and in a couple of months the handle could snap (true story) or the snaps could break. Then over the course of a year I bought 8 or purses at $20 a piece. I did that all through my teens and 20’s. I probably had 30 cheap junky half broken bags.
My sentiment exactly. I bought an $80 leather purse at JCPenny last year, on sale for $40. It broke in 2 months. I splurged on a Coach purse last summer at the outlet. I bought a purse that was over $400 for only $139. They had a 50% sale and a 30% coupon. The real plus, is that the insides don’t collapse on me, and I can actually find things in my purse.
Thanks for being so open. And yes bags do wear quickly, but be careful with Coach as well. The one with the leather corners on the bottom usually wear quicker for me. Also if they have too much metal the metal starts fading after taking much sun, etc. E original signature material is always a winner for me.
Would it make you sick that I just bought a Burberry purse + wallet for ~$2500? I work hard, give my chunk to charity and love my nice things. I’m of the idea where you have a few nice things instead of 20 cheap things.

According to my local outlet store (at Houston Premium Outlets), this web site is not affiliated with the Coach outlet retail stores. They were adamant about this and seemed a little annoyed by the affiliation when I asked about an item I’d seen on this web site.
Which website are you referring to? Hip2save.com or coachfactoryoutlet.com? If you are referring to hip2save, it is not affiliated with Coach. Hip2save is just reporting on a sale.

Thanks for the heads-up on this deal. Luckily I live near a Coach Outlet. I went there yesterday (got a purse and a few accessories, love them!) and a lady with a group of teenagers were ahead of me in line and she had a printable coupon for 30% off which she was able to use on her entire purchase – full and sale price items – and then got the 50% store discount. I asked her where she got the coupon, she wouldn’t say. Does anyone know where I can find one? I’d like to get my sis-in-law a purse and could sure use the additional discount.

I called the 800# on the Q and the rep said this cannot be used in combination with the 50% off sale – BUT I was able to use it for accessories which had been marked down but weren’t part of the 50% purse sale. Got 2 wallet/change purses for my nieces, reg prices $78 & $48, which were marked down to $39 & $29 used 30% Q – final prices $28 & $21!
