We had one of the older versions of metal pools when I was a kid (20 yrs ago) and the tiny pump didn’t keep the pool clean. We hooked an old hot tub pump and filter up to it and it worked much better! We had it for years and years. It was a pain to put up, so my Dad simply never took it down. We winterized it the way people do the larger pools and it was awesome!
Be advised, my local walmart refused to honor the price on walmart.com, so I had to order our pool online to save $150 and it took 2 wks to come in…
You can get the 18×48 for $239 as well. We’re hunting for one, so I’m debating! https://www.walmart.com/ip/Intex-18-x-48-Easy-Set-Swimming-Pool/22061255
@ Heather we have had both types of pools over the years. The metal frame pool was much more durable and ends up being the same swimable circumference as the inflatable. Takes a little longer to set up though
We have had this pool for the past 4 years and it still holds up well. Perfect size for my young family. We will probably upgrade to a larger pool as the kids get older (right now they are 5yo and 20mos). The only thing we changed was the filter. Last year we purchased a sand filter instead of the small filter it comes with. The small filter was OK but it seemed like we had to replace the paper filter pretty often. And the paper filters were $5 each at our Walmart. Now we don’t have to replace any filters. Just check the chemicals weekly.
