My 4 year old asked me for a Kayak for Christmas! He can’t even ride a two wheeler yet! Not happening! lol

You’d be surprised what he might do to surprise you. We put my (then 3 year old) on a paddleboard and he took off on his own. Then we put him straight onto a 2 wheeler and he fell a few times but eventually figured it out. Might be worth a try? 🙂

LOL that is true! Kids do surprise you! But I think I’ll save the $154 Christmas gift for when he’s older and doesn’t change his passion every 15 seconds! 😉 haha

My sister and I were just joking about who buys a kayak on Black Friday! But apparently lots of people give them as gifts.

I wish I would get a kayak for Christmas. The one I want is just a tad nicer though. 🙂

When you live next to the river in Florida (like I do), it’s nice (and normal) to have a kayak. 🙂

If your in a northern state and there’s snow…. Not so much.

      • Tricka

Lol Kelli very true! I’m originally from NJ and didn’t even know what a Kayak was until I moved to FL! lol

Well, I live in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and we are planning on getting my dad and mom kayaks for Christmas. They will have plenty of opportunities to use them since they live on Lake Superior.

If you have a Chase Freedom card, it should get you an additional 5% back with this quarter’s category. Also, going through ShopDiscover can net you 10% back if you have access to it.

Anyone own this? I wanted one that could fit me and a small child. I am only 5’3 and 110lbs. and the child is 40lbs.

    • Michelle from Maple Grove

Yes, you can definitely fit an adult and a child in the kayak. It is more difficult to paddle, but you can get around just fine. The kids just know that they will get a little wet with the paddle in and out of the water…which is no big deal. I have even let my kids paddle and they love it!

Awesome! We have done it before…where I took 1 kid and my husband took the other. So 2 kayaks. do you have this kayak? or a diff one? I ordered one but now wonder if my husband would fit with my 25lb daughter. He is 165. I know the weight is fine. Hard to tell from the pics. Should I order a 2nd? Ahhhh. lol. thanks!

        • Michelle

Hi, we have this exact kayak and I recommend ordering a second. It is so much fun to kayak with someone else. Eventually your kids can use them by themselves. We have ours at the cabin, so they get a lot of use.

Hi, awesome article. I really like the outdoors, fishing, camping & hunting. People spend far too much time inside watching the TV. Thank you for sharing & making us inspired.
