Operation Homefront: Free School Supplies and Backpacks for Military Children (Must Register!)
Calling all you HIP Military Families! Once again, Operation Homefront is partnering up with Dollar Tree to launch the 2014 Back-to-School Brigade where school supplies and backpacks are donated to military children of Deployed, Wounded, and Active Duty Service Members of any rank along with Activated and Inactivated National Guard or Reserve Members. Most of these donation drives typically run mid-July through the first week of August.
Supplies and backpacks are available on a first come, first serve registration process and registration is required. To find out if your closest Operation Homefront chapter has opened the registration process, head over here (scroll down to see all open registration locations). Or if you prefer, you can call your local Field Office; states without a Field Office can call the National Program Manager at 210-659-7756. Note that not all locations have started the registration process so check back often if yours has not.
If you would like to donate supplies, you can purchase supplies at one of the more than 5,000 Dollar Tree stores nationwide and place your items in a collection box located in each store. Or, you can also make a monetary donation here.
(Thanks, Rosa!)
Thank you Collin!!!!!!
You are welcome! 🙂
Thanks so much for always posting things for military. I shared with my deployed military friends.
I’m happy to! 🙂
I registered and I added my three school-age kids, but I was listed as ineligible. It must be excluding some ranks.
I just registered as well, and it came back as ineligible.
I donated at my Dollar Tree yesterday while shopping!
