Thanks, ordered some for work, home, to send to my son at camp and to send to friends that are in college.

  2. Alicia

How does the free shipping work? I created a rewards account, but its still charging me shipping. Do I have to wait a certain amount of days or something?

    • Lara

For free shipping you have to spend $30 or more.

      • Valerie

        Mine didn’t… I only spent $12.00

        • Heather

I spent $3 and got free shipping.

  3. Amber

How do you pick up in store? Not seeing that option…

  4. Aim

Sears and kmart local ad points are live now

    • im

got mines I had to stay up since 4am 🙁

    • Dana

Thanks! Did it after seeing your post.

  5. My Creative Days

    Great for teachers gifts!

  6. J

Is this something a kindergarten teacher might use??
Son is starting school this year and I’d love to give his teacher a bunch of extra supplies I got for cheap as I did for his Preschool.

    • Danica

Yes. He can use them to make alphabet posters, label his things with his name… Don’t get a ton because the kids can’t use them, but one pack of the fine point would be useful 🙂

    • brandice

Get them…she will find something to do with it

    • Laura

Yes! I am a kindergarten teacher and use them all of the time. That is so thoughtful and generous!

      • J

Thanks all for replying! I have enough family and friends that are teachers and know how much $ comes out of teachers own pockets so anything I can pick up to help out, I will do!

      • MommySpendsLess

My daughter’s starting kindy too! Is there anything else that would be a good first day gift? Or, maybe more importantly, anything that you wouldn’t want to get/is only useful for teachers of older grades? I know every teacher/school is probably different but do you have a treasure box or use a lot of stickers? (Treasure box trinkets and empty food containers were actually some of the main requests at my daughter’s preschool.)

I already bought a pack of the Sharpies, and was going to get the $2 BIC Cristal 24 pack of assorted pens and arrange them in a little bucket/basket like a bouquet with a little note …maybe also add a couple glue sticks/bottles and boxes of crayons to make it easy for the teacher to grab for kids that don’t have/forgot/can’t afford supplies.

I’ll probably try to follow up mid-year with a basket of practical supply items to replenish/replace the classroom’s stock (along with the usual Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week and end-of-year gift card/thank you note sort of things)….this was more just a brighten the first day/make a good first impression sort of thing 🙂

        • Jenn

I taught Kindergarten, and I used dry erase a lot for my students, so dry erase markers (plain black ones), sharpies, post it notes, glue sticks, Crayola Crayons (they have the best color). Check your child’s school supply list and use that as a guide. Stickers are always welcome. Talk to your child’s teacher and see if there is a treasure box/reward system. Also puzzles, books, and indoor recess games/activities also make nice gifts. I had a set of floor puzzles that I would rotate for the kids so they had “new” puzzles once a month. I agree that getting Kleenex tissues at midyear during the cold season is an AWESOME gift.

          • MommySpendsLess

Thanks! I wouldn’t have thought of games and I think there’s a bunch on clearance at Target right now!

  7. Jessica

Thanks Collin, I love this site, you have saved me so much money since I found you here. I ordered fine and ultra fine for my daughter for school in August. I am recently unemployed and other wise not able to afford the brands we had gotten used to in the past. You ROCK !!!

    Sincerely,
    Jessica

  8. Porsche'

my hubby uses these at work! i got 8 packs of each! thanks for the heads up these dang things get expensive!

  9. Judy Wydrzynski

    Great deal. Thank you.

  10. Brandi J

I just bought 3 sets of each for my yearbook students. We love Sharpies!!!! Thanks for the tip!!!

  11. Carla

Such a good deal, but I have no use for them?! Not a teacher, finished w school, child is only 3….wish I had a reason to get them!!

    • brandice

Not sure if this is in your budget… but back,to school drives are coming up. Great item yo donate

      • Carla

Thanks for the advice! I would love to donate. I wasn’t aware of back to school drives?! Never heard of it. I’ll have to look them up in my area.

        • Jenn

Often the big box stores will have back to school supply drives. Other places to check are local social services/churches/YMCA.

  12. Annemarie

Wahooo this teacher got 3 packs of each for 9.56 shipped!

  13. Becky

Awesome deal! Love them for my classroom, especially the extra fine point.

  14. Sara

Thanks so much for the post! I had a Staples reward to use so I paid $1.73 for 2 packs! Woot woot!

  15. brandice

    Thanks got them

  16. Allison

These are GREAT for “Happy January” bags! When I buy school supplies, I pick up a few of the super-cheap ones for next-to-nothing. Then in January, when the teacher is out of “fresh” supplies, I surprise them with a cute baggie of new supplies! (January is such a “grey” month otherwise 🙂

And if you give teachers 28 boxes of Crayola at the end of January, she will very likely cry from joy. You know, if that’s your thing 🙂

    • Tara B.

Allison, that’s such a great idea! I will have to borrow that this year- thanks for being awesome! 🙂

    • J

      Love this idea!

  17. Laura

Can you also get this deal in the store? Just like the other deals from staples

  18. Laura

Thank you Collin! Got some for bts and some for “art box” for Christmas

  19. Maria

How do you get free shipping? Still charging me shipping although Im logged in my account as Staples rewards member. Help. TIA.

  20. Amie

Did everyone get an email confirmation right away? I placed the order on my phone about 25 minutes ago and have not received one. There is no record of the order in the my order section of my account on their website. I’m trying to call to make sure the order went through but I’ve been on hold for 12 minutes now.

    • im

same here. I didn’t get an email confirmation and chatted with them about it they told me to call them. Nothing didn’t come off my bank acc

      • Katie

I ordered about 25 minutes ago and have not received a confirmation yet either. I also just checked my account and my order isn’t even showing up. Hopefully it’s just a little behind and will still go through!

      • Alicia

I am waiting for it to show up on my orders and/or an email. Is anyone else still waiting?? Been waiting 30 min now

        • Sarah

I just got my confirmation email at 10:38 a.m. and I placed my order at 7:40 this morning.

    • merky117

Read your comment and realized I didn’t get anything either. Checking the website and an order doesn’t appear and I know it went through cuz it said it would be delivered to my house. I hope it goes through!! :/

    • Anne

I placed three orders since I didn’t see any show up even after it completed my order with an order number. I was on a chat session for 45 minutes where I was then told to call the 1-800 number since he couldn’t help me and it was a technical issue.

    • Jessica

Same here! I hope they are just running behind and not end up being cancelled since its out of stock now!

      • Melissa

When I checked my account it says “sorry an error has occurred” and I have no pending orders so I’m pretty sure I’m not getting it 🙁

    • Amie

Just to update 🙂 After sitting on hold for 20 minutes I finally got to talk to someone. They said they were having some issues with their order process and it was running really slow. They checked and said they did have my order and everything was fine, it was just taking a little longer then normal. I got my email confirmation about 5 minutes ago!

    • Brenda Goldberg

Me too. I am wondering if we’ve been hacked? I did live chat. Gal couldn’t even pull up my account….

  21. Corina

Hmm, the instant coupon is not working….$5.00 as I am checking out with free store pick up. Any tips aon what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

    • Corina

Somehow when I added one of each in my cart , the instant savings did kick in. Thanks Collin! These will be a part of my teachers gifts for this upcoming year.

  22. Tara B.

Thanks, Collin! Put in my teacher reward card and it dropped to $1 per dozen for me. Hope everybody else has good luck! 🙂

    • Hilary

Any idea where to enter our teacher rewards number so it stays in our account for future use? Thanks!

  23. Jessica

Thank you! I got two of each, my son is starting “big boy” school this year so I thought his teacher could use some extra supplies.

  24. Amber

I have seen several ask about the free shipping. I could not find it either, so I tried the live chat to try to get help. She was not very helpful either. I actually had to hit the back button on my browser AFTER starting the check-out process, then it took me back to the product page. There was a blue box there that said ship to store. After choosing that, it was reflected on my cart. That might be the long way to get it, but it worked for me 🙂 There’s also a section about it under the FAQ in the help center.

  25. Christy

If you’re a teacher, you LOVE Sharpies!!! I just bought 9 packs! I’ll be giving them to my fellow teachers at the beginning of the year with a tag saying “it’s going to be an “Ultra Fine” year”! Thanks for the heads up on this deal!!!!!

    • Cat

      Cute idea!!

  26. Tera

Got it!!! Woohoo just in time for school. Teachers always request these as extras…

  27. Lisa

Thank you so much. I got one of each to send to college with my daughter.

  28. Jane

Are these available to purchase IN-STORE also?

    • Beth

      Yes

      • Laura

For the same price of $1.50?

    • Laura

That’s what I would like to know!!

  29. Beth

bought 6 each for in-store pickup beat the crowds

  30. Jenny

Thanks for the deal posting! I just opened your link and it worked perfect! I ordered 2 packs of each with free shipping since the nearest Staples is 1 1/2 hours away!!!

    • Maria

How did you get free shipping? I’m a rewards member too but Im still charged shipping.

      • Heather C

I had the same problem. I found a button in the bottom left corner and had to enter my staples number and phone number. Then shipping automatically came off. HTH!

  31. Heather C

When I “slept in” until 6:15am and saw how many comments were already on this post- I thought “oh no- I missed it- and I’m the ‘sharpie queen!” but….easily logged on to my Staples.com account and ordered 3 sets. I’m super excited. What a BARGAIN. *hugs to Collin & the crew!*

  32. amie

Ordered mine early this morning, along with a few other School supplies from my list. I am knocking them out. I will NOT be back to school shopping during the busy days ahead! Now to find one more yellow poly pocket folder with brads.

  33. Rachel R

I just tried to order it told me “out of stock!” Anyone else?

    • Latoya

Same here, put credit card info in and clicked continue and it said out of stock.

  34. Allison

    Out of stock! 🙁

  35. Anna

Sharpie® Fine Point Permanent Markers, Assorted, Dozen is out of stock.

  36. Cindi

    No longer available

  37. v

Great deal on these. I’m trying to better organize my couponing. I use a desk rolodex for easy access to the many websites I have registered on.
Having a variety of colors will definitely help when I write the “password” portion in color. Will help me easily pinpoint it when needing my log in info.

Thanks for posting. Also got the rewards set up…so free shipping is the way I had to go. Nearest one is wayyyyyyy to far to get to.

  38. Carla

    Out of stock of both

  39. Kerri870

It says they are out of stock for me. Bummer!!

  40. Lolita

I just got an out of stock message for the Fine ones.

  41. Michelle

Product is out of stock. I fidgeted too long!

  42. MommyB

BOTH ARE OUT OF STOCK 🙁

  43. Tina

This is only my second time ordering from Staples, and I have a question.

After I placed my order, it took me to the page that says, “Thank you for your order; order # listed. An email confirmation will be sent to you shortly at: my email address” I haven’t received a confirmation email yet and the order isn’t showing in my acct. It’s only been about 30-40 minutes since I placed the order. Does it usually take a while to receive a confirmation email?

    • J

      Mine is the same

      • Cat

        Same here

  44. Amy K

These are now showing Out of Stock… 🙁

  45. CC

Anyone know how long this sale runs for? Some friends tried to order and it shows “out of stock” too. Maybe they will get more in?

  49. Stef

Too late! This item is out of stock :-((

  50. lori
