Just a heads up…I waited to long and got the out of stock message. However when I selected store pickup I was able to get them for this price! The nearest Staples for me is 3 hours away but I just happen to be going there for an inservice this weekend!!!

There’s a little red tab that says PICK UP TODAY – but it goes away real quick to show the out of stock screen, just go back to the page and quickly click that box.

Because their down I was unable to order. How many other people missed out because of this. When I called customer service she was less than helpful. Will never order from Staples.
Try not to let the one experience make you miss out on great deals. I’ve always had great experiences with Staples. This is a great deal, so hard to get. There will be more.

They will not fill your order even if you received a confirmation of order. Just got off chat with Staples rep. They state there is nothing they can do. I think it is poor form and bad business to not honor the confirmed orders. But what could I do? I am calling the store now but I find it appalling that they do not honor the confirmed orders.
Yep I never got my confirmation email so I called and they said my order was cancelled cause they were out of stock! Said it’s an online offer only! Ugh terrible service, they should atleast honor it in store for the confirmed orders!
Unfortunately, Staples Corporation has a history of really business practices, toward both customers and employees. They sometimes offer great online deals like this, but I consider myself lucky if it works out. I have much better experiences with real people in my local store.
Whoo hoo. I had OfficeMax so I could get my penny folders. I had three orders, so I got enough folders for all of my students!!! It’s a good teacher day 🙂

I tried doing the check store availability (for the Sharpie® Fine Point Permanent Markers, Assorted, Dozen, Item: 463710, Model: 30075PP) and the pop-up that opens is for Sharpie® Fine Point Permanent Markers, Assorted, 8/Pack, Item 883555, Model 30078, $6.49. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
I think I may be out of luck, but I’m glad so many “hip”sters were able to get the deal. And for those of you that are purchasing them for your child’s teacher…my mother is a teacher at a small Catholic elementary school which obviously has limited funds. She always ends up purchasing supplies using her own money. So thank you for those that think to get teachers items like this!!! I know she always appreciates when she gets practical gifts like this. Teachers can only have so many “#1 Teacher” mugs/magnets/picture frames/etc., but they can never have enough supplies:)

I got an order of each in, got an order number but am yet to receive an email and it is NOT showing up under my orders. Anyone else have better luck? I printed my screen with the order number just in case.
I did the same as you, got the order number and all but have yet to receive an email advising it is ready for pick-up. Does it take up to two hours before it is ready?
Same here. Received thank you & order # but no email confirmation. I’m new to Staples, so I’m still learning how things work.
I did a live chat which said my order was in draft and that I needed to complete the credit transaction. I called the help desk and was told that the sharpies were OOS so my order wouldn’t be processed. Rep said ordering is a 2-step process. First, you place order and you receive order #. Then, they check stock, verify and charge your card and send you an email confirmation.
Since my order was placed, I asked if Staples would honor the price when they get sharpies back in stock, but she said they would only honor the price if my card had been charged which, in my case, it had not been. Rep was very helpful and pleasant and noted my acct that I wasn’t completely pleased with their current system of not honoring prices on placed orders simply because something goes wrong on Staples’ end. Hopefully they will listen.
Same thing happended to me. The Online rep. called my local store and requested they honor my orginal order since online was out of stock. They have agreed. I can not go get them unitl 5pm, so we will see what happens when I actually pick them up…but now I know there is a coupon, I will be bringing that also! The store had like 50 or 60 in stock of each kind and even asked me if I wanted more then the orginal 2 I had ordered. I agree, you would think in this day and age the order process would be better online.

I have a preschooler this year how much do you all budget to spend on supplies? Will $50 have me covered or is that too much? Wanting extras to donate as well.
collin just posted a price point for back to school supplies the other day. look through to find the post. $50.00 FOR PRESCHOOL seems like a lot… it is nice to bring extras for the teacher but a heads up through out the year they will need additional items for special parties/ projects… etc.
I’m sure preschool varies widely based on state/school/teacher but my daughter needed hardly anything for preschool. She was going to a 3 hr/day program and didn’t even need a backpack/lunch box. Her required supplies were a 2 pocket folder for bringing paperwork to/from school and personal things like family photos and a change of clothes in a Ziploc bag.
There were several optional items requested like white and colored copy paper, fat pencils, scissors, etc. as well as extra magazines, empty food containers for their dramatic (pretend) play area, dress up clothes, etc.
During the year they had several parties/special events that she needed a costume, a shirt of a certain color or food provided for.

I called the fayetteville, nc staples store and they price matched the online price. just had to pull up the web page on my phone.
I called the 1-800 # and spoke with a Susan from Staples and she said this price was an error and that NO ONE will be receiving the markers. Even if we received an order number.
Just got a call from Staples online telling me they are cancelling 5000 orders – and she was mad that she has to call everyone. Mind was even a pick up in store one!
She’s not going to have to call 5000 people herself. That’s not true.
Not sure why they just wouldn’t send out an email…thats what other stores have done when something like this had happened
