I guess I’m getting married, again, in the near future…
Congrats!
how odd… me too
Best wishes to us all!
Best to keep our registries private – if friends or family see it it could raise some questions!
Me too! Congrats ladies 😉
Too bad I’m already hitched… lol Great deal Collin! I’ll pass this along to my engaged girlfriends
😉
How do we know if we qualified?
Just got engaged last month but planning for a wedding next year. Thanks for this!
I am getting married next year July but I think I am still going to do this now and just add more items as the date gets closer
Yay! I got engaged in September and haven’t made a registry yet. I just signed up for this on Amazon, but didn’t see the promotional advertisement that was posted, nor did I receive anything about the $20 gift card. Any ideas?
Thanks Colin. I didn’t think of creating a registry on Amazon!
I don’t see anything on the Amazon site about this gift card promotion. Has anyone found anything from Amazon that promotes this? This seems too good to be true.
Bridal guide is promoting it…
https://bridalguide.bmetrack.com/c/v?e=63F106&c=27A90&l=266FDD8&email=Yd%2FHqrAAanKmMgt1KA79t5KPYjJSpe52&relid
I’m wondering if you have to use the Bridal Guide link to sign up to get the gift card. The link Collin provided is her affiliate link (understandably so) and it loses the tag that’s on the bridal guide one. I don’t want to risk not getting a gift card for my enrollment, so I opted for that.
I know what you mean.
My guess is this offer was for bridalguide.com email subscribers.
That’s why I can’t find anywhere about this promo information and it’s only screen shot I could see.
Great (bait) advertisement for the magazine and Amazon. They are well protected with their terms and conditions. (While supplies last)
This offer is super confusing as there is no mention of having to sign up via any specific link. In any case, I went ahead and updated all links in the post to direct users to this link: https://bridalguide.bmetrack.com/c/v?e=63F106&c=27A90&l=266FDD8&email=Yd%2FHqrAAanKmMgt1KA79t5KPYjJSpe52&relid
Sorry for all the confusion. I wish the directions of this offer had been outlined more clearly.
What happens if we already signed up from the links you posted before?
The link only takes me to a page now, when I click on the page for it to send me to the registery, nothing happens (I can only go to Bridalguide.com with the link or to the terms and conditions of the Amazon free gift card.
You wish the directions would have been outlined more clearly? Like you think it should have said that you can’t alter the link and try and make money on this? I can’t believe you would do that. Actually I can, but really, you had to alter this link to? Now my legitimate offer no longer works and people have been scammed that clicked your link thinking they will get a gift card. I have been recovering from surgery and just haven’t had time to do click the link on the email I received the first of the month. I will now be more careful not to click your links and just go directly through the websites themselves. I have been disappointed a few times over things that I have had legitimately that you posted and I lost out on, but this one just hit me in a bad way today.
I know what you mean.
My guess is this offer was for the email subscribers of the magazine. That’s why I can’t find about this promo information from the magazine site or Amazon site. Only the screen shot.
Great advertisement for the magazine and Amazon. They know these kind of promotions will leak to the non-subscribers.
They are well protected with their terms and conditions. (while supplies last)
That’s my wild guess for today.
Oh, Collin, I thought you have deleted my original post since I didn’t see my comment was posted.
My husband for 18 years would laugh if I asked to remarry me over the $20 gift card.
Lol!
This must be a “new” thing for retailers. Not the registry, but gift card promo. I have received 2 other offers in last month for $20 gift cards as well.
what did you buy
I just received an offer in the mail from Target for a $20 gift card when you create a registry. I did attend a bridal show about a week before, because I actually AM planning a wedding & will be creating a registry.
What I’m getting at is that there is a tag that you lose in the process that I would think marks you eligible for the gift card…
What happens if you are really not going to get married but you create one anyway just to get the $20 gift card? Legal trouble?
No legal trouble. Nothing would happen if you aren’t getting married. Even if so, engagements break off all the time.
Amazon isn’t going to pay hundreds of dollars an hour to an attorney over a $20 gift card issue 😉
I was thinking the same thing.
No legal trouble I’m sure, but if you’re ok with lying just to get a free gift card, that’s up to you.
Fine print says if they suspect fraud they will close your account. They have closed accounts before over fraud, so if you have a kindle and like all your stuff (it’s registered to your account no account no access at all) or valuable receipts that have items with long warranties I would tread lightly.
Where do you see this promo offered?
Wedding 9/12/15! Thanks… couldn’t think of where to register
What is tag ?
I am getting married on the 14th of march
I just became engaged last night!! Thanks so much, this is very helpful!!
Congrats! So excited for you. Enjoy your engagement!
I added one for being re-married, I don’t see the $20 offer but hopefully it will show?
I didn’t see the offer either but looks like it will be emailed in 1-2 weeks if we got it.
omg good thing I waited we r getting married in July! I was going to start our registry with Amazon yesterday but ended up with a migraine over my eye so was going to start it later today!
Guys….. Read the bottom of Collins post. Lol
Yay!! I didn’t register at amazon.. never thought of it!! And I’m getting married on April 11th!!!! Woo hoo!! So much to do still!! :-)! I’m at the CRAZY point!!! I had a romantic proposal at the cayman islands last march though!! & we are HOPING for a honeymoon in Australia if things work out! So it will be worth it! ;-)!! All my bridesmaids are out of state!! :-(! So this is one stressed bride!! :-)! Congrats to all you other recent engaged or almost married!! It’s a exciting time!! :-)! I dated 9 & a half years almost!! :-)!
19 years later I’m getting married…again…to my husband 😉
You p
There’s this bit in the legal jargon if you click on the link at the bottom:
Fraud.
We will have the right to close customer accounts and bill alternative forms of payment if a fraudulently obtained Gift Card is redeemed and/or used to make purchases on Amazon.com or any of its affiliated websites set forth above.
I seriously doubt Amazon is going to look anyone up to figure out if they’re really getting married or not, but looks like there’s a chance your GC wouldn’t be valid if they somehow figured it out. FYI!
They have closed accounts before over fraud, so if you have a kindle and like all your stuff (it’s registered to your account no account no access at all) or valuable receipts that have items with long warranties I would tread lightly.
Just signed up for the wedding registry through the link – we’ll see if I get it I guess in a few weeks
So I take from some of the comments that a lot of people are going to lie to get the gift card. Wow. Kinda sad. But to each their own.
Meg , stop acting like you have not done anything wrong ever!
Nope. I do not lie to get something I’m not entitled to. This is for people who are planning a wedding not for people to say well I might get married or well I am married so I deserve it. But like I said to each their own.
It only takes me to a picture when I use the link. I just went to amazon and created one. We’ll see if I get a GC or not.
Got married last November.
It baffles me at the number of dishonest people who are willing to commit fraud to get a gift card…. And then brag about it. And yes, it’s fraud.
Exactly!!! They are dishonest and proud of it! These are the people who are probably just as dishonest about the way they coupon too.
Yes! It just bothers me how some people justify it too. “Well I’m already married so I deserve it too.” Well, no actually you don’t. People like that (in all aspects, not just this promotion) take the offer away from people who legitimately meet the guidelines and deserve it. Not trying to sound holier than thou, but people’s moral compass is way off. You win some and you lose some, so if this offer doesn’t apply to you then move on. Congrats to all of the people who are actually getting married! Marriage is a beautiful thing ;0)
I think the GC is a good idea. I signed up for a Kohl’s baby registry when a $25 GC promo was offered. I received many of the items on the registry and I shop there quite a bit now I never had before. Plus at Amazon you have to spend $35 now for free shipping unless you have Prime or an offer.
This is wonderful! I’ve been planning on an Amazon registry and just haven’t started. Thank goodness procrastination worked in my favor for once! LOL!
I tried but it wasn’t valid — bummer!! 🙁
has anyone recieved their gift card yet??
Has anyone received theirs yet
its been two weeks has anyone recieved?
I was wondering the same…I haven’t gotten mine and signed up like an hour after this was posted two weeks and a day ago. Unless it went to my spam folder the first week and was deleted or something, but I have been checking there the past week just in case and nothing.
Contacted Amazon and the codes will be e-mail in the next few days to the ones that will get one.
I just called and they said its a non-existent promotion, wasn’t legit….I would like to know if it was or wasn’t and what the deal with getting the cards is, if those who signed up will actually get one or not.
Rreceived my code today,so it must have been legit.
got mine today..be on the look out!!!
FYI – I got my gift card today.
Finally got my gift card! So excited that with this and target I have $40 when I wanted to register on both sites anyway! Thanks Collin!
did anyone get Target yet? I haven’t…
Thanks! Got mine this morn
got my target one just now
Great items from you, man. I have take note your stuff prior to and you are just too wonderful. I actually like what you’ve got right here, certainly like what you are stating and the way through which you assert it. You’re making it enjoyable and you continue to care for to keep it sensible. I can’t wait to read much more from you. That is really a great site.
