I know car seats expire but mine (Nextfit) didn’t expire for 8 years from our purchase date. Did you find that this one had a 3 year expiration date, are you assuming all car seats only last 3 years, or does this particular one Amazon is selling only last 3 years? I am genuinely curious because I’ve always wondered how they could make a “forever” seat when they just don’t last forever.
3 year expiration date? It has a 10 year expiration date. It’s an awesome seat.
3 year expiration? Where did you see that? They advertise it as “10 years with one seat” so that doesnt make sense. Usually car seats have a 6 or 7 year expiration date.

most car seats have a seven year expiration date, so I don’t know how they get away with saying ten years.
Yes my joke of 3 years was to point out the issue of expiration dates on car seats. What makes this car seat last longer than others?

Got 1 for 207. She doesn’t add tax since it varies state to state so the 194 is a without tax price.

How can a car seat expire does it go bad? If it was not in an accident who can it go bad?
Over time the strength of the plastic can weaken due to the extreme temperature changes car seats go through.
Because after several years the materials in the plastic and other materials start to break down and lose their strength, making them unsafe to use. The expiation date is how long the manufacturer deems the materials to hold up as necessary, and therefore differs by different manufacturers who use different materials in their seats. Also, car seats are constantly evolving and becoming safer as the technology changes, so in 10 years there will undoubtedly be changes in the way they are made, just as they have changed a ridiculous amount in the last 10 or even 5 years.
I love this seat. I have 2 of them and was able to fit both rear facing in a Mazda3.

Good luck an! It took us 8 years & multiple treatments that never worked for us. Finally we got pregnant all on our own (after we’d basically given up) & we now have our very happy & active little miracle! So don’t give up hope:)
