This might sound silly but what exactly is this toy? I have an 8 year daughter that’s really into science would this be some thing for her?

There’s a good description plus reviews on Amazon that you can look at

      • Melissa

The one I found on Amazon didn’t have reviews or a good description? Same thing on target.com

Its a carboard puzzle of sorts. You join pieces together and they make a spaceship.

      Thanks for sharing!

Cartwheel is so disappointing this year. I remember going almost everyday last year for these deals, or making my husband go if I was working. This year we haven’t even gone once for any of the toy deals! Hopefully since they started earlier it will start getting better!

    • janet

Kayla I know what you mean exactly. I have been looking but nothing yet very disappointed but I guess it’s too early.

    • Melissa

I’m with you. I haven’t gotten a single one this year! I can’t complain though since they don’t have to do it. I’m still hoping for some better deals soon!

    • Meg

      I agree!!

Word of advice, if this is anything like the cardboard building toys my sister got my kids you will be sorry! It was cardboard hell! Very hard to line up and a huge pain in the butt. Save the thirty bucks and get a free box and they can make their own fort or ship. Kids are creative.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your feedback on this Esther.

Is anyone else having trouble with cartwheel toy 50% off items being in stock?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the tip Erika!

I have very few kids on my list but I was able to get a good deal on some nice toys last year. This year… I have yet to see one toy I would give… Not even one that I would keep in a gift closet. Horrible.

    • Nl

I feel like it’s just items that are not selling well

    • Tara

Agreed…..these arent on the hot list and frankly I have never heard of or seen some of these before :/

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer. Sorry to hear that Ami. Thanks for your feedback. Hoping the offers to come will be exciting to grab!

  7. Tara

I like the concept of having to build it but I cant believe painted cardboard could cost that much. We just moved so we have plenty of cardboard boxes lol :p

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      😉

  8. Dallas

So disappointing target! Come on where are the good toy deals?

  9. chrissy

I bought a cardboard spaceship at cvs last year on clearance for under $5. Kids had fun coloring and playing in it for about 3 days then it went to the trash.

    • Jennine

I love groupons sticker on their boxes. “Can I hang out at your pad till recycling day?”

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for sharing Chrissy.

I picked one up today for my sister who doesn’t live near a target. Her 5 year old little boy loves building things and she is certain he’ll be thrilled with this on Christmas morning. Yeah, to an adult we may just see the cardboard aspect of it but to a kid this might as well be a real spaceship he gets to assemble himself 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So true! Thanks for sharing this Sara!

  11. Lucy

Saw video , im convinced my daughter will enjoy it. Buying it tonight

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome Lucy!

  12. Laura Larsen

Picked one up this morning. FYI it is a huge box so my target only had space for 2 on their shelf. I cant imagine there would be a big stock of these anywhere with their size. So if you want this you might go early to look for one.

    • Ava

That’s true. I went early this morning around 8:15 and picked one up. There were only two on the shelf.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the heads up Laura! Good to know the size!

  13. Erin

Hi! I’d just like to say I really appreciate the posts on these target hall off deals! I’ve already purchased 3 off them!

If you haven’t used this toy before, you are in for a surprise. All the parts you get to put the cardboard together are reusable joining pieces so that children/Adults can build a new and different creation by using other materials around the house instead of just putting them in the trash. By using the same joining part from your child’s first MAKEDO set they are being encouraged to recycle materials around the house which is not always so easy to do with toys these days.

When you buy a MAKEDO product you are definitely not buying it for the cardboard, you are buying it for the pieces that connect it all. The cardboard Space pod is just to give the children an idea so that they can start building straight away. Then once they are done they can find new objects and let their imagination run wild.

You only need to take a quick look at the MAKEDO site and you will see for your self that it is a product worth getting.

Hope you have as much fun with the product as I have!
