  Here is what the description states “runs on 4 D-size batteries; Larger can runs on either 4 D-size or 3 C-size batteries (not included)”.

   I bought the 18.5 gal Nine Stars trash can a couple weeks ago when Collin posted it for $34 and I love it!These cans are nice, but it did take a few extra days for it to ship from Amazon and I have prime, not sure why? But it did come very well packaged. I’m tempted to get these too 🙂

   We had this set for like 1 1/2 – 2 years. The larger one is a waste of money. It takes like 2 or 3 C batteries, and doesn’t last very long. After the last batterie change, it would open very slowly on fresh batteries. So then my Hubby, took it apart and cleaned all the moving parts. Then it would work better for a few minutes, then repeated problems. The small one still works like a champ and we have never had to change the batteries yet. Since then we have replaced the larger one with a metal step on peddle trash can (from Home Depot) don’t remember the name. So much better and nicer looking.
