I feel like this post needs a YMMV on it because i tried to do something like this when it got posted last year and my store said that i needed to buy 3. Then would pay for 1 and get 2 free D: which isnt bad but it would make each one like $2.
No ymmv needed. Print the official CVS coupon policy. It specifically addresses BOGO store promos being combined with coupons.

I went to CVS and tried this deal today. No dice. The young lady, with manager assistance, decided on going the 50% route. They took the value of each bag as $3.50 or so and put that price on the bogo coupon. I passed and will try at another location with a self checkout.

I would call corporate. CVS coupon policy clearly states that a bogo in store sale, paired with a bogo coupon will result in getting both items for free.
This is great! We’ve got 4 weimaraners and a GSP so we go through a couple hundred pounds of dog food every month. It’s great to have some extra on hand. Just sent my husband after some with coupons and coupon policy in hand… We shall see how things go! Clearly states right at the bottom of their policy that both items should be free, so Collin’s scenerio SHOULD work. I told hubs to call corporate while he’s there if they give him any troubles. My cvs manager so nice he was giving a rain check for this am and he said couponers pay his salary !! That he will order items if he doesn’t have them !!! So nice of him 😻😻my cvs

Tried this deal today and my CVS didn’t even have them on sale. Full price and coupon maxes out at $6.55 which didn’t make one”free”. Bummer
I used the coupon at my cvs in Pennsylvania. Buy 1 for $7.29 get one free. I used the coupon too and they took $6.55 off . I got 2 bags of dog food for
$.74!
It is always hit or miss because store managers do a lot of interpreting and store clerks tend to not know policy that well at all. This deal doesn’t fly in my area.
On my CVS APP I have a 30% Pet Food 🙂 They were out but I got a raincheck.
I wish I would have had the policy with me b/c the clerk and manager said what I was trying was coupon fraud. I was so shocked I just said I didn’t want them. Will try another store for rain check.
Yikes! No one wants to be accused of being dishonest, especially if there were others within earshot. I would write corporate and let them know what was said. A similar coupon incident happened to me at Walmart. I was very embarrassed. I sent an e-mail to corporate and got a call from the manager of the Walmart wanting to know the particulars. After hearing from me, he agreed that what I was doing was legit and said he would bring the circumstances up with his personnel.
I actually got a survey when I got back to work and completed it with feedback.

in my CVS offer was BOGO but they wouldn’t take the coupon. I still purchased it as I have two dogs an need the food but I would like to contact corporate…does anyone know where to contact to those guys? This was my first time using coupons and I am little discouraged after this experience 🙁 lady at the register was like NO WAY YOU DONT GET THIS FOR FREE

I was just at CVS and was able to use the coupon on this deal, the cashier never batted an eye at it. So glad I found this deal! I’ll be going back later in the week to get a couple more bags as they only had 2 today. I printed their coupon policy just in case but didn’t need it! 😃
i’m in phoenix, az and i called about 30 diff stores and they are all out of the Beneful.. 🙁 will get raincheck or try again on wednesday after they unload the trucks 🙁

I went to 1 store and they were out but they told me I couldn’t use the coupon to which I explained it’s in the corporate coupon policy. They said the store manager said they couldn’t do it. I went to another store down the road and they had some but same thing. They said I couldn’t use the coupon. I had them look up the policy which I had printed. The manager came back and said I was right but then was only going to let me use 1 of my 2 coupons. He eventually let me use the 2nd one as we were talking. I think it’s just the managers not knowing the policy and thinking that they control it.
