This is a great deal! My Jansport lasted me well past college.
Got it!! Thank u!
Oh awesome! Glad to hear how well they hold up! Thanks for sharing!
My husband’s college backpack (Jansports) was used by my son when he was in high school -(he’s now a college sophomore) and is now being used by our youngest son who is in HS. That thing lasts forever!
Really? I had to replace couple backpacks during college years
No! You should contact them! They uphold their warranty.
I always send them back for repair but it does cost me about $9 each time. So free fixing, but it’s not totally free. Nonetheless, I love the customer service and am all about reusing instead of replacing.
Thanks!
You’re welcome Kay!
Still have mine from junior high.. Love jansport!
Sweet!
These are huge!bought one for my teen and she hated the thick padding ,stiffness, and how it stuck out.I use it for camping stuff.
Oh wow! Thanks for the feedback Nina!
2 of my daughters hated it for the same reason. They love the regular Jansport backpack much better because it’s smaller and fits in their lockers.
Thank you! I got one for my son.
YW!
Such a great warranty! My sons straps by the neck were a little frayed. So I sent it back and a month later they sent a brand new one. It was even better than the one I sent too. Highly recommend this brand!
How cool! Thanks for sharing your experience Beth!
I have used the warranty for JanSport a few times. Things they can fix will get repaired and things they can not, so long as its not from abuse of the product, they will replace the bag. I have sent in bags for my most common issue which is zipper failure and they replace the zippers. I have sent them in for other issues and have always had the best customer/warranty service. One of my bags is over 22yrs old and just had the zipper fixed for the second time in its life.
I also wanted to add that Trans brand bags found at Target are made by JanSport and carry the same warranty. I have picked up their equivalent of the big student bag for as low as $6 in the back to school clearance.
We LOVE our Jansport backpacks! We have sent two back for replacement (bad zipper and something else I can’t remember) after several years of use and they have replaced them for free. We did have to pay for the shipment to Jansport (about $5 USPS Priority Mail) and they didn’t have the same design we originally sent, but we are very happy with the return policy. Hooray for great companies like Jansport! π
That’s great! Thanks for your feedback Cathy!
Would this be too big to use as a personal carryone? I know they allow purse and backpacks along with an actual carryon luggage. Not to sure if this would be “too big”
We have used ours as carry-ons. You just don’t want to pack it so full it doesn’t squish down some. We have always slid ours under the seat in front of us because sometimes they don’t easily fit in the over head bins.
Great! Thank you
I bought these for $6 on clearance at my local kohl’s. The jumbo are very large though, but for college it’s great because you can fit a laptop with an outfit /shoes.
You beat me! I got it for $10 at staples. They had some others at staples for $15. Love checking staples clearance. And my son said he didn’t like it lol
Thanks so much for the review! Good to know!
We have a couple backpacks in this style. My kids don’t have lockers at their middle school so this bag is perfect!! Plenty of room for all their stuff without being too crazy big. I will only buy this style for the rest of my kids. Too bad it’s a girly color or I’d buy a few for my younger boys. π
Me too! My boys don’t have lockers either. They both said that all the girls carry this color.
Hmm, wonder where my Jansport backback from HS I decorated with patches from Spencer’s, LOL. Those were the days π
I was pretty disappointed when i sent both of my daughters jansports in (each only purchased that year) for warranty repair and they didn’t fix one of them, said they fixed it, but sent it back with same issue and their customer service wont’ answer me. I paid 12 bucks to ship it. they are good backpacks, but they do seem to have issues yearly with daily use at schools that don’t have lockers
Oh bummer π Thanks for sharing!
My daughter has the same one with different color (Multi Blue Splish Splash from Sears) since September and it’s holding up pretty good. She likes it because it big enough to put everything in there. I was able to get a black one for free with Sears (on clearance) with surprise point for my son just in case we have to send his roller back pack in for repair in the future.
Thank you for posting, got one to use as a diaper bag.
You’re welcome Tammy!
Definitely check-out discount stores like Ross. I have always bought my Jansport bags there, and saved! The last bag I purchased there was $12.99! It still came with the Jansport warranty and lasted me through high school and college! I loved it!!
Great find Annie! Thanks for the heads up!
