Can anyone comment on the Kansas City location?? The recent reviews are pretty terrible and I am not sure we would book for those prices with bad reviews!
I’m not sure what bad/poor reviews you’ve seen. Big Brothers & Big Sisters had a benefit 3 years ago with day passes for $5-10 with your Savers shopper card so we’ve only gone for the day. We had a GREAT time. My tall son was 3 at the time and could ride almost every slide. They have life vests there to borrow if you want. There’s a huge kids playground place for kids of al ages. There’s a lazy river. There’s a 0-3 area with about 6 inches of water and a few tiny slides. My husband and I had a wonderful time. Living within 30 minutes of it, we have not spent the money for an overnight but many coworkers have and rave about the rooms as well.
Just that the rooms were outdated, the service was very slow and food way overpriced. I hate the idea of the rooms being sub-par when you’re spending $200-300/night. The reviews were very consistent with those very things…slow service, outdated rooms, poor customer service. I wanted to get a feel for this particular location because I have heard great things about the other locations.
I am only really concerned with the lodging aspect. We are very familiar with waterparks, pools, etc and I know are kids will have a good time doing all of that. We are from year round warm weather, so I was trying to find somewhere with a great indoor attraction for our kids. This seemed to be about the only option! We are only visiting family for a few days, but want to make sure the room is comfortable and clean.

Oh, you could consider the coco key water resort which is at i70 & 435 on the Missouri side (east side of Kansas City….great wolf is i70 & 435 on the Kansas side).

Omg, yes I hope so!!! We usually go every year, but we had another baby last year so our budget super tight this year and couldn’t go. My boys are pretty good sports, being considerate not to complain but I can tell that they are pretty bummed about it since whenever the commercial comes on, they stop everything they’re doing to watch.

My boys would love this, my 7 year old told his grandpa (my father) earlier this evening “Great Wolf Lodge is where I want to go”. His grandpa had never heard of this place, so my son told him how he knew about it and he said “Grandpa it looks awesome, that’s why I want to go.” I was very excited to see this giveaway tonight and hope we win. I am a stay at home mom of two boys, so quite often funds are tight so this would be a wonderful surprise for them. Thanks for the opportunity.
I saw this post and checked rooms at the Lodge in my area, glad I did because they were having a sale. Just booked a two night stay over Thanksgiving for $460 for a Family Suite. Can’t wait to enjoy the long weekend at the lodge with the kids. We have never been before so I am really looking forward to it. I have heard a great way to save on food is to bring a crock pot and cook your food in the room. The rooms have mini fridges and microwaves so you really don’t need to eat out. I would cook my own food anyway, much easier to let the kids enjoy the waterpark while I prepare the meal instead of dressing for dinner!
