If you have a Hastings nearby, you may be interested to know they are filing a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and all stores must be closed by October 31st at the latest, including goHastings.com. 😔 With that being said, you may be able to score deep discounts at your local store!

Remember to be kind to the employees, to us it means big sale time but they will be out of their jobs because of this.
Thank you! The vultures were already calling and coming in first thing this morning and they were not nice about it. I’ve worked at Hastings for 11 years, fortunately now just part time, I have another job. It is many of my friends and coworkers only source of income though. Very sad to see it go. We don’t know when the sale is going to start, probably won’t know until next week.
Ashley, I’ve never shopped there before (don’t have them in my area) I just wanted to say I’m very sorry to hear that another store is going out of business & more people are losing their jobs..also that there are people out there so rude. I apologize for them.
I will be saying prayers for all of the people of this company & their families that they will all be taken care of.

I am so sorry, Ashley, to you and your coworkers. My friends and I are all very sad about this. For many of us, it was our first job in college. We have many great memories there. It was a wonderful company to work for, and we all hold those times in our life near and dear to our heart. We wish this wasn;’t happening, and we all feel sorrow for those of you who’s lively hood will suffer for it.

Hastings is headquartered in my home town. Many of our friends are going to lose their jobs. I cannot remember a time when Hastings wasn’t here. It’s a sad time.
I am from Amarillo as well and can relate as my mom works for Hastings. Prayers for all of the Hastings employees!
I hope your mom finds something quickly. I know the workplace market is going to be flooded with people looking for work. Such a shame.
This is so sad. I saw it coming, but it sucks. The town I just moved from has almost nothing there and Hastings always had a ton of people. I don’t know what people are going to do once it’s gone. I pray for the employees as well.
I have a gift card that I need go use since the store will be closing. It is sad that they are closing.

I am so sad to hear about another great business having to close up shop. I don’t live near any of the stores but I have been shopping for years on-line. I could always find the movie I was looking for, sometimes even when no one else had a copy. I feel saddened for all the employees who will lose their jobs. No business is safe anymore. My prayers are with you all in finding another job and to get through this difficult time.
So sad to see my local Hastings closing. I hope local employees are able to find other employment. I like to rent movies from a store, not a box 🙁
I really hate to see Hastings close. They are the only place you can get good deals on movies, music, & books. I shop there all of the time & they are always busy when I’m there. I’m really going to miss them.
I worked at hastings in Laramie, WY for five years, the only hastings in the state, as video manager and video recovery manager. I transferred to a hastings in my home state of Missouri and worked there as book manager. I loved the company and shopped at any hastings I ran across. After returning to teaching, I would travel to one of three hastings stores within my part of Missouri – Kirksville, Jefferson City, and Warrensburg. What am I going to do now that they’re all closing?
I have been going to Hastings since they opened here, about 15 years, and I always liked to go in and browse and almost always bought something.
There are no other stores like that in my area and I’m going to miss it. It’s really too bad.
When I went in today, everything was 15 to 40 percent off and I saw that much of the popular items were nearly sold out already. Video games and accessories were bare.
I was told at the Santa Fe, NM Hastings store, which is closing at the end of October that I could redeem my gift card through this site, however, I don’t see where I can enter the information needed for redemption of this card. Please inform me at my e-mail address listed below. Thanks.

I’m only my after Christmas binge for cd and movies until spring for the last 5 years I’ve bought over 200 CD/DVD’s from hastings online sad to see they closed
