How is on cleaning stairs? Is it awkward or top heavy and prone to falling over?
We have had our Dyson Animal for almost 11 years–ours is the old style, no ball. We have 3 kids and 2 long hair large dogs (Newfoundland and a Great Pyrenees) and use this sweeper EVERYDAY–some days it never gets put away. Two years ago we replaced the clutch/belt ($40?) after watching a YOUTube video. We do clean out the roller bar underneath quite frequently and also take an air hose to clean out the cyclone part. We bought ours at a box store and also bought the extra 5year warranty. Once a year for 5years we were able to take it back and have it looked at and cleaned. The warranty also covered the on board tools too. We broke the crevice tool and it was replaced for free.

Got mine new when my husband used to have a store discount. I have a dog and cat and this thing gets the hair amazing. I’m constantly vacuuming my 2 year olds crumbs. I vaccum once a week and it gets everything and its pretty full when i dump it . Seems gross but you know it works well.
