DIY Scarecrow Wreath from a Straw Hat
Looking for an EASY and UNIQUE homemade front door wreath for FALL? 🍁🍂 Grab a straw hat and make this simple Scarecrow Wreath using some festive Fall embellishments and your creativity! I love that this wreath can be displayed for both Halloween and Thanksgiving!
DIY Scarecrow Wreath From Hat
Supplies Needed:
Large Brim Straw Hat
Faux Fall Leaves, Pumpkins, etc.
Straw Raffia (for Hair)
Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
Buttons for Eyes
Felt for Nose & Mouth
Decorative Ribbon
Floral Wire or Bread Twist Ties
Scissors
Directions:
Unravel raffia and gather into equal lengths. Trim ends if you need to. Secure raffia in the middle with floral wire or a twist tie. Decide which side of the hat will be the top and place the raffia over to top of the crown. Fold and glue rim down over the raffia. Glue flowers and embellishments on the top of hat. Glue face details. Finally, glue ribbon and a flower detail to the bottom of hat. Hang on your door to enjoy this FALL! 😃
Notes:
- I decided to use a floppy beach straw hat and picked it up on clearance this week for almost FREE with a $10 Kohl’s reward. You could use a more rustic looking one if desired.
- The raffia I used was from Dollar Tree, and my faux flowers and pumpkin are from Walmart.
- You could always improvise with the face and use what you have on hand at home.
This is SO cute on my front door!! What a FUN and FRUGAL way to add a touch of Fall to the entryway!
