I hate to admit it, but I’ve always been a Costco shopper… until today! After hearing about the new Sam’s Club Scan & Go App, I decided it was time for me to get a membership and check it out. With less than 25 minutes to run in and out (including signing up for a membership!) before having to pick up my son from school, I was amazed at all that I was able to get done in such a short time-frame!
I was in and out of the store in UNDER 25 minutes with the above items loaded in my CAR (note that some items were just groceries we needed and grabbed while running through the store)… WOW!
The Sam’s Club Scan & Go App made my quick shopping trip a breeze – a true lifesaver if you are in a time crunch! And what I love is that it was SO easy to access and print my receipt directly from the app when I got home so I could submit for Ibotta and Checkout51 rebates (also great for keeping track of any business expenses). Plus, I already got credited for my qualifying purchases in both apps!

You can also order ahead and pick up! But I think it has to be 24-48hrs in advance. Haven’t tried it.
You have to stand in line at customer service with the in store pick up. It still takes forever! I have had to wait up to 20 minutes just for them to bring my things and I still have to pay at customer service. The scan and go is still so much faster in my opinion.
I agree Erica! I’ve had to wait FOREVER to get my online orders and more than once they messed up or forgot an item. I prefer Scan and Pay for sure! Less hassle!!
Thanks for the info! I’ve seen carts at the front with ppls names and there’s a kiosk next to it so I thought it was just check in and go. Guess not! Now to clear room on my phone for a new app lol
My husband made that mistake. They didn’t have our order ready and couldn’t even find it in their system. They went off of the email confirmation he showed them and they literally went to go get the items as he waited. Never again would I use their order online and pick up in the store service.
It really depends on the store. We have a newer store where the club pickup works great. Place our order, pull up to the kiosk outside, enter our info, and it’s loaded into our car within minutes. Another older, busier club where my husband could have shopped quicker because they only had non-perishables ready and pulled the freezer food as he waited. I love doing it when it works right, having 3 young kids.
I used this for the first time this morning! It was great!

I already am a Sam’s member and it looks like if I’m not a new member I can’t unlock that Checkout 51 for spending $10. Is this right? Or am I missing something?
My offer is unlocked but I don’t see where it says only new members, so I think that one offer is for everyone? Just says you must spend $10 or more, excluding applicable taxes and gift cards. Hope that helps!
It’s confusing! I am an existing Sams Member and It shows unlocked on my phone. We went today and I uploaded my receipt. I just heard back and it was denied because I didn’t get a new membership. So it seems that it’s for new members and those new members are to submit a receipt this week of the said new membership, which will unlock the savings for them next week. New members are to keep any other receipt they have from this week to redeem next week….I think. I reread it a number of times and reread what the email said. It is confusing because it is showing mine is unlocked, so I did inquire for clarification. I’ll respond here when I hear back.
Love the scan and go. The lines are so long and slow moving at my local Sam’s that I couldn’t stand going now I can zip in and out.
I have been using this for a while and love it! It is nice to see my running total and my son loves to help and scan the items! How to you print the receipts?

I am guessing you don’t really need the reference code as my cashier had no idea where to enter that code and never did after she couldn’t figure it out. 😉 However it worked just fine for me to upload my one receipt for both apps when going to verify and submit for the $10 rebates! Hope that helps!

Great advantage is that you always have your receipts on you stored on the app in case of a return.
I love that about Walmart Savings Catcher too. It’s saved me so many times!
I was just in Sams this afternoon. They had a table set up at the entrance with water bottles and candy. And the super friendly employee was giving out info about scan and go. 😀

I love the scan and go. Super fast. Only negative is that you can’t buy alcohol on scan and go (for all the right reasons) and I can’t apply gift cards as a payment method yet. I like to buy those at a discount on raise to double up on savings.
Can not buy many cold meds and even lawn fertilizer. I think photos are excuded as well. Also can not go over a certain dollar amount. But it is a nice app.
Can you use ibotta or checkout 51 at Costco?
I have been using the scan and go app for months. I absolutely love it. I had to give up getting the ibotta rebates because they wouldn’t accept the scan and go receipt. Is anyone else having trouble with this? I haven’t tried lately, so maybe this matter has
been cleared up. I would love to hear if anyone is having any luck with this or how you handle it. Thanks!
I just re read above. I guess I need to learn how to print the reciept when I get home. I didn’t realize this was an option.

It’s super easy – just click on the receipts tab in the app, then click on the receipt you want to print, and then click the little upload button at top right and you can choose to print, email it, add to iCloud, etc (I am using an iPhone though). Hope that helps! I had no issues getting Ibotta to approve my receipt!
I have the $100 membership (plus membership, i think) which gives cash back based on amount spent (i think $10 back for every $500 spent) so my membership pays me around $120 back for the year. . .We buy a lot of groceries for our family of 6 at Sam’s.
Also, i get freeosk emails for free photo gifts at sams all the time. So be sure sams has your email.
If you are military (spouse included), you can receive a $15 eGift Card ($25 for the premium membership), with a new or renewal of membership.

One thing I love about my sams club is if you shop early ( I have a plus membership) they have coffee, granola bats, fruit, and cookies for free at the check point where you have your receipts looked over.
Love Sams Scan N Go app, no need to wait in the long lines anymore. Also, FYI: old expired cards work on that sample kiosk too;)
Also if you have a Discover card, check your account for a $25 gift card offer for Sam’s Club membership when you use your Discover card, (it’s good on renewal of membership too, which a lot of offers aren’t), I just did this a couple of weeks ago. I have the $100 plus membership, and I had saved $90 in reward money. I used the $90 in reward money, paid the other $10 with my Discover card, and got a $25 gift card by showing them the offer.
I LOVE the scan n go app – when it works. In my particular store, the app only works about 30% of the time. Skipping the check out lines is indeed a time saver. I just never know when I’m going to have to stand in line because the app isn’t working.
Does it take a few days for the Checkout51 deal to “unlock”? Mine is not showing up. Is there something else I have to do?

…At this time, we can only accept the original, in-store point of sale receipt from the register at the time of purchase. Invoices, e-mails, pick-up receipts, online purchase receipts, receipts printed on 8.5 x 11″ paper, retailer app records, and duplicate prints are not considered valid forms of submission for rebate credit….
How long did it take you to receive your Sam’s Club gift card for spending $40.00 on qualified items?
I just signed up recently and went for the first time yesterday- they were giving out slips at the door where if you used Scan & Go, you could choose one of 4 items FREE (take n bake pizza cheese or pepperoni, croissants, or rotisserie chicken). Didn’t scan them, just put it in your cart and give the person at the door when exiting the paper slip. Not sure if all locations do this or if it happens all the time, but YAY free food! For me and my fiancé, the pizza we got will easily be 3 or 4 2 person meals!!!
I tried to submit my scan and go receipt on Ibotta and it denied it bc it wasn’t an instore receipt. Any ideas on what I can do??
