Too cute!!! I can see my son now….

Right? 🤣 kudos to the mom who found that cereal container. That’s awesome

  2. Heather

So much sugar…these are a sometimes treat for my daughter… but I’ll stick to the small size.

    • Allison

I know, right? My kids love them sometimes, but that cereal container makes me cringe. His poor teeth!

    • Alyssa

Sometimes there are sugar-free, or at least low sugar ones! I think a lot of them have Diet Coke slurpees, that have only a few calories 🙂

      • MommySpendsLess

Personally I’m more concerned about artificial sweeteners than sugar… not that either of them sound good for you huge quantities, not to mention the artificial colors.

This is more of a gimick than anything though. I bet the kid in the photo above would be super excited over the novelty of getting a huge Slurpee but not even try to finish it.

I figured most people who did this would be filling up one large cup to share.

        • Erin

Yes artificial sweeteners are even worse than the regular sweetness, they are all chemicals

    • Erin

Totally agree my son is 11 and I never get him more than the medium size one, this is way too much

    • Tim

Thank you for all the sensible comments on this thread. I feel sorry for the kids that are allowed to glut on slurpees because of a cheap gimmick. And sugar free? Oh Lord…zither chemicLs.

      • Jennifer

        Sometimes artificial is beneficial …
my son has type 1 therefore he would have to have a pretty big shot to have even a small slurpee, sugar free let’s my kid be a kid without having to take shots. (I would never let him have a big cup like that though lol, however I would fill a cup like that up and take his picture, before going home and splitting it up for several to share.)

Now we need a deal for a big cup/container.

dollar tree has gallon size for $1

  4. Linda

Make sure you have a babysitter scheduled for when the sugar kicks in. 😉

  5. Sarah L

Whew! Would take a family if 5 or more to drink all that!!

  6. Natasha

Super fun event for the kids but do they really need that much?!! I think I will bring a large cup and split it up between all my kiddos. Four kid slushes for $1.50, can’t beat that.

  7. Jill

Does the cereal container work? Anyone try this? All 5 of us covered for the cost of 1!

  8. Cindy

As long as the container fits within the 10″ cutout, they (usually) have at the store, it will work. Last year the clerk at the 7-11 we went to, gave us a hard time because my son’s container was so big – it fit within the cutout- but it was BIG. My son (12) was so excited to have this huge container of “sugar”. We put a lid on it, went home and put it into smaller containers. He had one, and the rest went into the freezer (for slushies). After the first day, he never wanted to eat the rest of it. He said it was too sweet for him. Such a waste!

This year, we will probably just take a slightly larger than normal cup, but nothing huge. Not wasting it, this year.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing your experience Cindy!

  9. Jaz

    I have my trash bag ready !!! 🙂 🙂

    • Lo

      Hahahaha

  10. K3llyb

I pour any extras into popsicle molds and freeze them for later. Then the whole fam can easily enjoy it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great idea!

  11. Mommaof6(7thOnTheWay)

All of my kids have their containers (similar in size to the one pictured) ready. Boys will be boys.

  12. Ashley Nesbitt

Will a 2 quart Kool aid container work?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It cannot be larger than 10″ in diameter.

    • Veronica

We took 2qt pitchers last year with no problem.

  13. Teaira& Ashton's Mom

I filled up a sparklers water despensing jug up,the worker was cool because it was 5pm and nobody had come in to take advantage of the deal..I put it in my deepfreeze and thawed it out for a summer picnic with a bunch of family and friends

  14. T

Did anybody think that’s just probably the advertising pic to give people the idea 💡 That u can literally bring any size cup but I would hope people ain’t getting a big as cereal container full of icy to their kid

  15. Jacob Witmer

If I bring an entire TANK, will it still be $1.50?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Lol! It cannot exceed 10″ in diameter.

      • stevemosebar77

Actually at my local store there is NO cut out. I brought a 2.5 gallon container, took it home and split it between my 4 kids and the neighbors 3.

  16. Jamie

Come on negative Nancy’s, I highly doubt his mom let him drink the entire thing! Not to mention his brain, talk about major brain freeze!

  17. Eric

How did he fit that cup through the 10 inch in store designated cut-out?

  18. Missy

My 2 boys bought a5 gallon bucket from Lowe’s with a lid and they allowed them to fill it. They only filled out half way because it was too heavy to carry. They would never drink it all themselves, they couldn’t. They shared

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Cool! Thanks for the feedback Missy!

  19. Julie Davis-Olson

Last year the date fell on the day of our block party, so I got some large containers & brought them filled with every flavor they had back to the block party with the small bathroom size cups, so everyone could try every flavor!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      How fun! Thanks for sharing!

  20. Haleigh Oneal

Is this also in Oklahoma or is it just in some places

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Not all stores are participating. You can always call ahead to your store to be certain!

  21. Beba Icct
