Buying one starter and 4 figures didn’t work for me. I was so excited when I got the email too!
It didn’t work online but when I purchased at the store it worked
Thanks for the feedback!
what are they? my kids are young so I am not familiar with these games..are they figurines for video games?
Part of the promotion terms state: “Discounted items must be of equal value to item purchased”. I’ve done these Disney Infinity deals at Toys R Us a few times, and this is what I have found:
Figures qualify together (regardless of price, so if you have 3 priced $14.99 and 2 priced $9.99, you would get all 5 for the $14.99)
Power Discs qualify together
Starter Packs qualify together
They are probably getting low on what stock they have left, but this deal is especially awesome when you are able to find the figures for really cheap (like $5.99 or less – then you can get all 5 for that price, as long as it is the highest of the 5).
It looks like they only have the Star Wars Starter Packs now, but you can always buy 5 for the price of one ($20), and then sell or donate 4 of them. $20 is not a bad price. Even on Amazon right now, these run $15+ for just one.
With the limited stock they have left, I would say the best bet would be to order 5 Starter Packs for $20, and then in a separate order (because it won’t let you use this deal more than once per order) buy 5 figures. For $35 plus tax and shipping you would be getting 5 starter packs (sell or donate extras), and 7 figures (2 come with the starter pack).
You might also want to check if this deal is also in-store, because sometimes the selection is different.
Keep in mind that stock is not being replenished. Disney is no longer coming out with new products for this, and they have dropped server support. Don’t panic! This simply means that there is no longer an online option for this game – there is still plenty to do. Basically, you can no longer go online to download other “worlds” that other players have created or to upload your own creations for others to play. You can still create.
For anyone on the fence: this is a great game, with a little something for everyone. There are the playsets (each Starter Pack comes with one), which are essentially “story modes” where you have specific objectives like most video games. Then there is the Toy Box. Within the Toy Box are several things to do – you can build a world (kind of like Minecraft), build onto and decorate/customize your “home” (kind of like on The Sims), race, fight, explore, etc. The Toy Box is also a great first video game for little ones still learning the controls.
Thanks for the super helpful feedback Tara!
