You’re welcome!
Awesome! I recommend looking up the 3 day method of potty training. Of course every child is different but it worked so well for my younger two kids and I really wish I had known about it with my first! It’s so much more than just going cold turkey – it tells you about how to pick up on your child’s cues that they need to go and how to help them recognize their own body cues. Just makes so much sense!
Thanks for the tip Renee. I’ve been waiting for warmer weather, planning on going cold turkey and cleaning puddles. I’ll have to look into the 3 day method.
We did the 3 day method with my daughter @ 22 months. Best decision ever & completely diaper free after that. No transition to pull-ups or anything. I will say that @ 18 months she would tell me when she did #2 in her diaper bc she wanted to be changed. 😉
I wait to potty until my kids have full bladder control, which doesn’t happen til age 3 (training too early is stressful and can actually be detrimental to their health too, and if you wait then they “get it” faster). Then we use the potty seats that go on top of the toilet b/c they’re a lot easier to clean and travel with (plus my kids like to use the toilet just like we do). Boys generally take longer to train than girls, so that’s also something to keep in mind! We did Pull-Ups at night and when we’d go out, then used those Gerber training pants-type underwear, and then eventually we went straight to big boy underwear. Took a while to not have accidents anymore, but every kid is different and takes their own path to developing independent use of the bathroom.
It’s out now 😞
