I go to your hip2keto website. However, I am a vegetarian. If you have any more vegetarian friendly that would be great. I do cook the meat recipes on there for my husband and kids.
ahh.. u wrote my mind..!! i m a vegetarian too ( eggs but no meat).. but husband is non-vegetarian.. so when ever i browse hip2keto.. i don’t find much for myself.. 😕
Read my mind! Vegetarian too.
I’m also a vegetarian keto-er! Please keep us in mind!
Thanks for the feedback all! We will definitely work on creating more vegetarian-friendly options over there! One of my favs is the “fathead” pizza dough with yummy cheeses, fresh tomatoes and basil. SO good.
I have been a hip2save girl for the last 9 or so years. I love this site! I personally feel like hip2keto is crossing a fine line. Health isn’t something to be taken lightly and you are in a position that can easily influence people. That shouldn’t be taken lightly either. There are some serious health risks involved with this kind of diet and suggesting people “take a look” or whatever, is like a commercial opening the door for people to maybe try something they have no idea about, but trust that it should be fine because “it works for Collin” or “Collin seems to be fine”. I’m not trying to be negative, and again I LOVE HIP2SAVE, but using this site to influence someone in a health decision to follow a specific diet that could have negative effects might need to be reconsidered. I’m glad you found something that works for you, but keep in mind, people can be desperate and in a situation that they don’t have what it takes to really research and make their own decision and may take advice from you and get hurt.
Agree
I agree as well.
Keto diets can severely disable your immune system and are not safe.
Thank you so much for following Hip2Save and for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback on Hip2Keto. I will be sure to pass this along to the rest of the team!
I lost 20 lb on Keto by eating much more delicious foods!!! ARE you kidding: Keto in!!!! I wish you are having app for Android. Thanks you for everything!
I don’t think this is in any way influencing anybody. Just like there is information available on any topic, health, disease, food, this is a way of getting information out about Keto for anyone willing to learn or at least know what this is all about. Now, you making statements about Keto damaging immune systems without research or studies to back that up is what is damaging. Keto diet is one of the oldest ways of treating epilepsy. It isn’t a diet. It’s a lifestyle that people chooses. I for one, likes to read and learn about different things and to me this is an excellent avenue for anyone interested in knowledge. It is generalizations as such that you make that are what is the problem. I do not practice Keto but I have a sister with epilepsy that thanks to Keto can have a normal life. This is not medical advice. For any health issue people know to talk to their doctors, do their own research and find out if it’s backed by science or not.
I am with you. Completely agree.
people on keto eliminate sugary and carb junk from their diet, make smart food choices, loose weight, keep their diabetes in check. We dont eat breads, pasta, rice, cookies and all that junk, most of us eat spinach, mushrooms, zuchinis, avocados, olives, cukes, cheeses, wild caught fish, organic chicken and meat and much more. what’s wrong with eating healthy??? serious health risks with eating healthy? yea sure, there is serious health risks people take when riding car or taking a plane, but the biggest risk when people cant control what goes in their mouth.
I’ve always eaten this way before I even heard the term Keto… Though no meat too.
Well said, Sara…I feel the same way.
Unless you have followed the diet yourself, you cant make that claim. I have been ketogenic for 14 months. Down 100lbs, off all meds, healed my gut issues and my lab work is perfect. Watch the movie on Netflex called “The Magic Pill”. The keto diet has been around for years, big pharma is not in charge and the world is sick!!
WOW! Congrats on your huge weight loss and getting off all meds. That’s so awesome! 🙌
I agree with Sara. I do love Hip2Save, but, I don’t agree with all the promoting for Hip2Keto!! Sad to see the influence as many people can have health risks doing keto, if the words that ‘they must seek their doctor before trying’ are used, I don’t know why you’re even promoting it for one to have to seek medical advice 1st? When you say it that way, it almost sounds as if it’s not safe. It just doesn’t sound right to be influencing so many people with this. I get that it’s working for you, and that’s great.. but, why couldn’t it just be kept low key on maybe your personal Instagram page or a Facebook keto group. Just my thoughts. Still love Hip2Save, just don’t like the mix with the new advertising for Hip2Keto.
Straight from the hip2keto website-
“But hey — keto diets aren’t for everyone. And before you ever start a weight loss or health journey, please speak to your physician. It’s the safe and smart thing to do.”
Very good explanation and I 100% agree!
I have been diagnosed with IBS-C. Will this diet help me? I am so frustrated with the problems/pains that I have with IBS-C
This is exactly what I’m talking about. You need to discuss diet changes with a health professional, not a coupon guru.
Hi Ben! We would recommend you check with your health care professional before making any changes to your diet.
No. I have it too, and nothing sets me off like meats high in saturated fat: bacon, burgers, anything greasy. I do the opposite: low saturated fat in everything you eat.
Love hip2save and hip2keto!!
I agree with Sara and I think Ikombe is biased. What Sara means is some people may trust Colin for what she is doing with hip2save. Therefore that may blindly follow her in any other topic.
I don’t know how I am biased on a diet or lifestyle I don’t practice. She made a very generalized statement about how it is harmful to immune system with no backing by research or studies. That’s the issue I have with that. I have seen from my sister how this way of living can be helpful to some people. And because my sister is successful doesn’t mean everyone will and I will not use her example to make generalized statements. As for Collin, she is simple putting out information out there to help people not commanding anyone to do. I will like to see people complain that Hip2Save promotes consumerism. How what she does with hip2save different from what she is trying to do with hip2keto? At the end of the day it’s the same goal of helping anyone out there who needs that help. Not all coupons work for everyone likewise not all diet things will work for everyone.
The Keto diet is life changing! Do your research and if it’s right for you, this is a great site for recipes and tips. I love that Collin is bringing awareness to this lifestyle and opening eyes to different eating choices that are healthy and sustainable. I recommend watching “The Magic Pill” on Netflix. It was eye-opening to the benefits of this way of eating.
THANK YOU!!!!! I LOVE THIS!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
❤️
I had bariatric surgery 6 years ago. I have not done well with it. I have children that have severe behavioral and mental health issues, which has my stress level sky high( and I am a stress eater). In addition to that I have a spinal cord injury and can not exercise or even walk more then a few feet etc. After bariatric surgery you should eat… very high protein, low carb, and small amounts of healthy fats(olive oil, fish etc). In looking over the recipes I found several that I could lower the fat in and still enjoy some variety. So thanks for posting and I will be checking out the recipes !
I am just here to watch Collin get chased by her dog in her bacon outfit!!! I am literally laughing from watching it over and over.
🤣
I absolutely LOVE the new Hip2Keto site. I’d been on the fence about trying this lifestyle again because it felt hard and overwhelming. I did Atkins many many years ago and was wildly successful but the switched to weight watchers. I find myself eating way too much processed foods for convenience though and any time I eat a lot of carbs I feel so sick and bloated. This site has inspired me to give the keto lifestyle a try and fortunately you’ve made it so easy to find different things to eat that I never would have even thought of because my mind isn’t full on keto yet. I love it and I love you all for venturing out and giving your readers another amazing avenue for deals and recipes and ways to inspire and encourage each other! I think you’ve made it very clear that keto isn’t for everyone and they need to check with a doctor before starting any new changes to their diet. Hopefully you keep this site up and keep the keto coming!!
Been strict keto for 14 months down 100lbs, off all meds, healed my gut issues and my lab work is perfect. Watch the movie on Netflex called “The Magic Pill”. I will never go back to the standard American diet!!
Thanks for the comment Jamie! It’s much appreciated. ❤️
I guess Im the only one that has never heard of Keto?!
It’s unhealthy to be overweight also!
I love hip2save & Hip2Keto. Colin is to easily Criticized for trying to help people by passing along what works for her. She never claims to be a doctor Complain somewhere else!!!
Agreed!! No one seems to complain when she posts deals on cookies, soda, and other processed foods, but heaven for bid she post about about something that helped her with a disclaimer on it!! Calm your selves down, she isn’t forcing anyway to live this way and she recommended you consult your doctor before making any changes!
I’m 31 and on Keto diet for one month. I lost about 15 lbs, which I didn’t need to. I was 130, now I’m around 117. I want to gain weight, not lose it! Any advice from Keto fans here? I decided to just eat more of the stuff I eat on this diet.
Ketogenic Diet Science & Support is a wonderful science backed Facebook page that can assist you with needing to gain. There’s people in the group that need to lose, maintain, gain or are there for other medical reasons. It’s a very friendly group.
Love it but hope you still post recipes on here! Bc I won’t look it as much as this site
I have done my research. I have a Master’s degree in Biochemistry. Just wait five years until you all have gallstones.
And low carb is NOT the same as Ketogenic. I eat low carb but Keto is not safe unless you have other more serious issues such as epilepsy.
I lost mine gallbladder because of wrong food choices. Monica read “Keto Clarity” before of predicting; stay positive and Keto on!
I have to agree with Sara. I do not understand why some of the comments have to be defensive. She is not attacking the Hip2Keto but as I see it – stating her opinion and I see her point. As to keto: I was debating. After moving to the US, I went from size 4 to size 8 in 3 years. Several IVF cycles with tons of hormones didn’t help, and quitting smoking moved me into size 10-12. Kid you not guys, I cook from scratch. We do eat sweets, but I honestly do my best to avoid boxed stuff. Unfortunately, we do not buy organic foods due to their unreasonably high cost. But I cook from scratch, and we enjoy our little organic garden every summer. We do not eat fast food and I honestly use treadmiill in attempts to keep it under control. But I keep gaining weight. Thats why I even considered keto. However after some thinking and discussing it with my hubby, we decided that we will try to decrease our portions and increase our physical activities. No matter how appealing loosing weight quickly is, I believe human being food intake should consist of carbs as well. Rice is not junk food, like someone here stated. Many grains are healthy and IMO should be in our diets. So for me personally, I will try to lose weight by portions sizes and working out more. Kudos to those who successfully manage and enjoy keto. But looks like it might be not for me. Just my 2 cents!
I’m reading Trim Healthy Mama right now and their thoughts make amazing sense! Definantely a lifestyle change though. Look it up!
Wow so hard to stay away from bread….hoping to try out this diet partially to get rid of my bloated belly along with exercise! But can you please post more vegetarian recipes.
Love all the recipes
Keto is not for everyone. Some ppl lose weight and feel more energized on keto while others (like myself) feel sick and have health issues after cutting carbs out and eating more fat. What works for one person doesn’t have to work for another…it takes time to figure out what your body needs and how your body gains/loses weight. Personally, I find keto way too restrictive so on a daily basis I follow the slow carb diet instead and eat things like rice/pasta/potatoes/bread for a weekly cheat meal. Win-win for me.
Thank you for posting your recipes and ideas! Personally, I do not think that you crossed any lines. There are so many keto/low carb blogs that are so helpful to many. I love the ones that I am on bc it is so nice to see so many recipes. I never imagined all of the food choices until joining and networking on these sites. I would also like to say thank you for being so open and honest when talking about your battles with past eating disorders. I am so happy that you have been able to overcome them! I never once felt as though you were trying to persuade anyone to eat this way, instead, giving ideas and support to the thousands of us that do ! Thanks again for all of your ideas!
Collin, thank you for posting this. It is very helpful to me and thousands of others ALREADY doing keto. I understand the defensiveness of others, but I guess keto is just not for them. As for me, I cannot be greatful enough for the balance of my hormones, reduced acne, reduced anxiety, and increased energy after about 1-2 months of transition. I’ve lost 30/40 lbs that I needed to lose, but the natural energy I now have is a life saver. I don’t have to take naps in the middle of the day to continue, & I do not have to purchase energy boosting products. Keto can be expensive, so thank you for posting g recipes to make it more manageable for ME. I understand keto is not for everyone, but it is for many. Thank you.
I LOVEEEE HIP2KETO!!! Keep on posting great recipes!!
