I asked after the free Redbook, but forgot to go back and review the comments (I apologize)…have any of you ever added the $2 magazine deals that come up after you confirm this freebie? Some I’d love, but I didn’t know if it was a hassle to cancel, etc. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Hi Stormy,

I did it once and found that they tend to renew your subscription way before it’s due. Then they charge you the full subscription price.

I’d suggest putting it on a gift card that will have a zero balance at renewal time. That way no surprises for you.

I sign up for those $2 deals all the time … they send you a postcard letting you know your subscription is ending and will be renewed if you don’t contact them … you just call the number on the postcard. It’s automated (pretty confusing the way they word it) but outside of that, I’ve never had a problem.
