My Hubby and I LOVE to cook – to the point we get a little nuts when the food magazines show up in the mail (Food & Wine, Bon Appetite, Sunset, All Recipes, Cooking Light, etc). For us, Martha & Marley Spoon has been our favorite. Our kid is not picky and usually hates kid menu items because they taste bland to him – and this service was so cool because he could “help” with some of the steps and see on the recipe card what needed to be done.

As a single mom of 3 with a big demanding job and a house that takes a huge level of effort to maintain, I’m grateful for Marley Spoon. I initially subscribed because it was too good of a deal to pass up. However, I maintain my subscription because it adds so much value to our lives. In the past, I’ve spent my entire Sundays preparing meals for the week – wasting valuable time that could be spent making memories with my kids. We live in a rural area and I don’t have time to shop for fresh ingredients, to meal plan, or to consider our nutritional balance needs at the dinner table. Marley Spoon has taken so much stress out of my life. Highly recommend. 😀

I got my box yesterday and made the seared steak and crispy potatoes for dinner tonight. It was delicious! And very clear and easy to follow, which is good because I am not a cook! Absolutely worth the price with the discount. Bonus, it was also really easy to cancel online.

What a great wedding gift idea for my wonderful future daughter-in-law! My poor darling can’t cook a lick and hopefully this will boost her confidence to show her she’s not “hopeless in the kitchen”. And boy will my son be super greatful!😆😉 Thank you so much!!!

Or you can call your son and tell him a surprise is coming for him! Every man should know how to cook.

        Love this comment!

Agreed my son’s girlfriend is the same way but he is learning to cook for her, with her, etc…They do it together and it has made them laugh and enjoy lots of unexpected fun in the kitchen. It is not her responsibility to care for your son. It is something they could learn and do together though.

The reviews are pretty bad for this box. Lots of people reporting missing ingredients, rotten food etc

  7. darlene

Just went to sign up and they want to charge $31.50 for first box after the $30 credit is taken off not $18.

    • Erica (Silly Sidekick)

Hey there Darlene! Be sure to click the 2-person plan and your total should drop to $18. Hope that helps!

    • Jack

You have to change the meals from 3 to 2 per week on the two person plan. It did the same thing for me too and took me a minute to figure it out.

They don’t deliver to my zip code 😕

I’ve used Marley Spoon for a year and we love their recipes. I get tired of coming up with recipes & they have a nice variety to choose from. You get an 8.5×11 recipe card so you can make the meal again on your own. I have made recipes again & it usually costs me just as much or more to buy all the ingredients separately (including buying a container of spice when all I need is a tsp), grocery shopping etc.

Here’s the thing about this…we subscribe to Dinnerly now, as it’s the cheapest out there and we are on a super tight single income, part time budget. I noticed one day, that some of my ingredients were marked Martha and Marley Spoon, when clearly I’ve never utilized them and they come in a Dinnerly box. Even in the above picture, the meat, it’s the same…Land & Sky. I have it in my fridge right now. So with that said, I’m not sure how much of a difference in complexity/ingredient wise you are getting when you pay more for a more expensive meal box. Something to consider, especially when one uses the others branded materials. I have been happy with Dinnerly and at $5 a serving, $38 including shipping a week, it’s great for my 4 year old and I, and to get her helping in the kitchen.

I will also add, the recipe layout looks similar as the online photo above. Not sure if they are owned by the same company or if they utilize the same bulk purchaser to buy ingredients or what.
