Still have questions? Here are a few FAQ’s:

Does Shipt honor in-store sales?

Shipt offers special in-app pricing to help members save money (while also saving time). Though their weekly deals don’t always reflect in-store pricing, all Shipt sales are offered in one convenient place – their “What’s On Sale” category – for easy browsing.

Do I need to be home at the time of delivery?

Yes! Please do not schedule a delivery during a time window in which no one is home to receive the delivery. If no one is home at the time they deliver your groceries, Shipt will call your mobile phone to ask for options on how to complete the delivery. Should this occur, any perishable items in your order could be damaged, so please make sure someone is available to receive the order.

Do Shipt shoppers accept tips?

Tips are not required but are greatly appreciated. Show your shopper some love and appreciation by tipping any amount of your choice! You may tip in cash or within the app after you receive your delivery and 100% of your tip will go to the shopper.

If you’re not interested in keeping your Shipt membership, you can cancel your membership at ANY time by calling (205) 502-2500 so they can assist you.

Just my opinion, but thought I would put it out there to others too…I initially thought this would be great, but there are some negatives that will keep me from using it. The prices are not the same as they are in the Target store and as you mentioned, ShipIt has their own sales, so you end up paying more per item than if you shopped in-store yourself. There is also the issue that you can’t use coupons, apps like Ibotta, or Cartwheel and you can’t use your RedCard to save an additional 5%.

    • armywife621

I agree, and will not use it for large shopping trips. However, I received the 6 month membership free on Target’s one day sale and it has already come in handy. I have a toddler so if I factor in gas and peace of mind, it is worth it for small trips.

  2. Rachel

I second what army wife said, I have a newborn at home, so for small trips this is totally worth it, I wouldn’t do my large grocery shopping but orders under $50 I always use it. It saves me time, gas, and headaches in the store. To me that is worth it at the very least. I do not like they do not have the instore prices, but most things for me where the same such as baby food etc.

  3. Lolita

How much do you usually tip? That can make it a little more expensive too.

    • Rachel

I usually tip a few dollars, depending on how large my order is, and if it was anything really heavy.

    • Frecklelily

I’m a Shipt shopper. Usually is $5-$10, but anything makes a difference.

  4. Shelia

What about Publix BOGO’s ? Are those prices honored?

    • Frecklelily

Yes, most of the time those will be the same.

  5. Evan

This might be good for getting cases of water, soda, etc.. the heavy items some people have a difficult time carrying.

    • amy111

Yes! Think of the elderly, people who just had surgery, new babies or moms with kids. It can really come in handy for some people.

  6. Cindy

Every time a Shipt order comes, it still feels like a mini miracle! It is more expensive. I have found on average, about 10 percent more. But I find that I make up for that through less food waste. Rather than overbuying because I am afraid I am not going to make it back to the store soon , I only buy what I need for 4-5 days at a time. Plus, we eat at home more instead of getting fast food because I am out of groceries but don’t have time to shop. There are sales through Shipt. It may just be that the items are different than what’s on sale in the store. I also like the spend $$, get $ promos that are available because the credit it simply applied to your next order. No paper catalinas, etc, to have to keep track of. I can understand where the extra cost would be a no-go for some people. But I can’t imagine living without Shipt now, especially with Target being added recently. I love Archer Farm brands products. Being able to select items and get a delivery after the kids have gone to bed is especially fabulous. My husband travels a lot for work, so evening grocery runs are usually not an option for me.

I love my membership to Shipt! Game changer! I realize I’m out of a few things later at night and i can have someone shopping for me as I’m getting the twins ready for bed and then it’s here right after they fall asleep and viola – one less errand to run in the morning. Yep, I pay a bit more. I’m ok with it. I still do major shopping trips on my own, but when I look In my fridge and realize I have not hot dogs or Mac n. Cheese and my cat litter is running low? SOLD! I will pay an extra $3-$6 for that. Only downside is they don’t deliver wine ….. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    • Frecklelily

It depends on where you’re located. In Florida, we do deliver alcohol. I’m a Shipt shopper, but I haven’t done certification for alcohol deliveries.

This has been such a help for me. I am elderly, chronically ill, and without family in the area. It enables me to stay in my own home. I would encourage those who have elderly family members to consider this as a gift to them. While some elderly aren’t that great with computers you could do the shopping long distance for them. Also in my area multiple stores use shipt so you aren’t limited.

    • Brittany

      What a wonderful idea!

  9. niki

Just a heads up that Shipt delivery people are not required to bring the groceries into your house. If they do they’re going above and beyond so be sure to tip them. But, if your delivery person declines please don’t penalize them. The delivery person may just be trying to keep his or her self safe.

  10. Karen

I’m a Shipt shopper and Target doesn’t mark up the prices. So what you pay in store is what you pay in the App. Tips are greatly appreciated especially carrying large items, delivery into your home and working in 100 plus temps. Usually range from $5-10. Also, you tip your pizza delivery driver, why wouldn’t you tip someone who grocery shops for you, delivers and sometimes brings into your home? Fazes me, that some people just done’t tip 🙁

    • Christopher

Pizza delivery drivers are tipped employees, they make whatever the tipped employee minimum is (usually less than $3) and the rest is tips. Most places with a delivery fee don’t pass that on to the driver either, screwing then out of potential tips because people use it to justify not tipping.

I’d still tip because it’s something I could have done on my own but was too lazy to but it’s not really comparable.

      • amy111

I don’t think it’s a laziness. Some people who are disabled, or someone who’s car isn’t working or whatever it aren’t lazy. Maybe you can’t compare…the pizza delivery guy probably didn’t make the pizza.

Karen, I see Shipt shoppers at the store and you guys work hard! You have fo find things that are new, out of stock, and things that are all over the store while trying to please the person. I commend you on your hard work!

        • Karen

Yes we work hard 🙂 And we don’t get pay that much per base shop, so tips are very much appreciated!

Shipt is soooo convenient. I’m a shopper and I deliver to lots of different people. Most of them just love that they don’t have to take their kids to the store with them lol. Yes, the prices are a few cents more but it’s great because you have direct contact with your shopper the entire time. So you can text your shopper to add or remove things from your order. Some customers dont know the name of a specific item they want so i can easily send pictures of the shelf and they can tell me which item it is. Also, when you order online you can be super picky about your items and leave notes like “please get green bananas”, or “only choose dark strawberries”. It’s awesome. You can tip however you feel, but keep in mind, our earnings are majority tips.

Hip2Save Team — How long is this offer available? I get paid Friday and I really want to do it! I have two kids busy with after school things, I work and travel a bit for it. So much easier than spending an hour plus at the store when I can be with my family.
