I tried adding two and only get one $10 giftcard. Do you know if I can place two orders and get two giftcards?
I placed two separate orders & got 2 gift cards.
Thank you for this, Naomi!
How does this compare to CVS Black Friday deal 29.99 and 29.99 eb. I am assuming cvs kit does not include lab fee. How much is the lab fee.
I don’t have a CVS but walgreens had one for $9.99 after coupon this week. I searched all my local stores trying to find it, only to find there is a very high lab fee. I think it was $169. I would guess CVS is the same.
I clicked through the cvs one last night and there’s still a $69 fee you have to pay. It’s sneaky:/ also on the 23 website they say 2/$99, but I couldn’t figure if there would be a lab fee, so to play it safe I did the target deal 2x.
Maybe someone can confirm… this is just for the ancestry details? It doesn’t include the medical side that 23andme is usually known for?
Correct. However, I’ve read from others who have done this – they’ve purchased the regular ancestry kit and they were able to upload their results to various websites (can’t remember where but maybe somebody here knows, or Google or check out comments on their Facebook page!) and they can pretty much tell you the same thing. I plan to try it and see if that works because I’d love the health info too! The medical + ancestry kit is $199 regular price and they may do a black friday special but I would think the other way is a great deal if it works!
Thanks for the post, have been wanting to get one but didn’t want to pay $100 for two.
You’re so welcome, Casey! Glad you could score this deal today!
I looked at the comments on target.com and there is an additional fee for the medical info. This just includes ancestry info.
Hey Sarah! That is correct! I added a note to the post to help avoid any confusion. Thanks!
I’m disappointed I haven’t yet signed up to be a REDcard holder. I would love to secure this deal! Any chance one of you knows if this deal will be offered (with the gift card) to us without the card this Friday?
I placed 2 separate orders and got a $10 gift card with each order. This is a great deal and will make a great gift for my in-laws 😀
So if we wAnt the health part added does anyone know how much that is
I did the same – two orders, two gift cards. the 23andme website has two for $49 each and now free shipping so if you don’t have a red card, you can get a similar price there.
I think if you buy on the 23andme website you pay shipping though! $15 extra for the 2 kits.
How long does it take to get the gift card? I chose for it to be emailed and I don’t see it yet
It takes about 30 minutes after you pick up in store or once it ships. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the helpful comment!
I did this earlier and picked up in store. The gift card was then emailed to me. I could not understand why my total was higher and then realized your total does not include sales tax. Lol. Glad I figured it out.
Oh yes! Tax can vary. Thanks for sharing!
If you are tech savy, you can download your “raw” dna file and use Promethease to view your medical information for $12.
