Introducing Stetson, Hip2Save’s Newest 27-Year-Old Deal Tester
There’s a new face around here…
If you’ve been following Hip2Save recently, you may have noticed a bit more of a male presence, whether it’s the more burly looking hands in product photos or pictures of some dude chomping down on a burger. Well, that’s me! My name is Stetson Hunter, and I’m Collin’s brother-in-law. Given that association, you can probably guess how I got myself into this situation.
I’m the newest deal tester at Hip2Save, so my job consists of taking product photos, testing deal scenarios, and scoping out hot new bargains while I’m in the store. I’m also pretty handy with videography, so my position also has a big focus on bringing y’all more video content. Even though I have some strong suits in this position, let me just say that I am by no means a deal shopper, nor would I say I’m good at saving money. But my persistent sister-in-law (a.k.a. Collin) talked me into giving this whole “deal shopping” thing a try. 😬

I’m not going to lie. At first, I thought this job would be easy — boy, was I wrong. My co-workers (of which a majority are women) are constantly sending me all over the place to find every sort of product on the market. I’m walking into Target, Kohl’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Ulta… ULTA, PEOPLE! I do not belong in that store at all, especially when I’m asked to take pictures with a product called “NO-MO BUSH”. 😳Just as concerning, I never thought I’d see the day that I’d be in a beauty aisle fighting over the last tube of Lip Smackers or YES TO face masks.
Look, I’ll be honest — I have NO idea what I am doing out here. Ideally, I would just walk into a store, grab the one item I went in for, and book it outta there when I’m done. But nooooope! It doesn’t work that way with Collin. She and the rest of the team remind me regularly that in every store I go to, there is usually a deal to be found. So it’s a hard knock life for me as I spend my day trekking through aisles in search of the next hot deal.
Some days, I’m covering my ears to fight through the cries coming from the children’s toy section where kids are sobbing over their denial of the latest Lego set. Other days, I’m suffering defeat from the self-proclaimed beauty guru who snatched up the last makeup palette, when all I needed was to take a single picture of it. Every day, I’m constantly being reminded to wear my Santa glove in pictures to keep things festive. And then it’s usually at the end of each day when I’m asked to drive all the way back across town to check in on the latest deal discovery. 🙄
But, please forgive my banter as this job has been extremely entertaining so far. It’s only the beginning and I’m sure as I continue to learn, I’ll get the hang of it one of these days. Until then, I’ve got my camera in hand, so I’ll be keeping you all updated with my day-to-day life as a Hip2Save deal tester.

Just FYI, there are some awesome dudes on some of the other blogs I follow and those guys know how to MAKE money with coupons and rewards which I find SO awesome because not a lot of guys do it. Glad to see you here, Stetson. Guys love good deals, too–believe me, my husband was just an apprentice when we married, and now he is all about bragging over the deals he gets, coupons he finds, etc. Saving money is fun!! Enjoy the ride (don’t let your coworkers give you a hard time)!!
Lol I love it! This cracks me up because my husband and I are a young couple and my husband never uses a coupon, never goes into a store to browse or look for a good deal, or goes out of his way to save a few bucks. He just goes in to grab what he needs and pays full retail price.

I thought about starting a blog and I have a question. Is there a reason why you take photos at certain stores instead of using photos from the store’s website? Is it a legal issue?
Great question! It’s more so that we can verify that the deals are legit and available at the correct sale prices, and often we need to actually test the deals. We also like to photograph the products for the posts so you truly know what you’re buying. Hope that helps!
