What is this lawsuit about?

One lawsuit claims that although the packaging on the Freshmates wipes states that the wipes are “flushable,” “septic safe,” and “safe for sewer and septic systems,” the wipes are not suitable for disposal by flushing down a toilet, are not regarded as flushable by municipal sewage system operators, do not disperse upon flushing, and routinely damage or clog plumbing pipes, septic systems, and sewage lines and pumps.

If you haven’t already, take a look at http://www.topclassactions.com. It consolidates alot of class actions onto one website.

I’m not constantly on the lookout for class actions, but it is nice to easily see if there is something I qualify for. I don’t always get a notification even though I qualify.

Hi Sara, good to know to others. I’ve constantly check that website and recently got two happy mail. One of them was for false compare at prices for Tjmaxx stores (got $30 gift card), and another one was for some false ad for Johnson’s (got $16 check)
      This website is legit.

I’ve done these before and for some reason I have never ever been sent a payment or check. Not once!

Same thing. I’ve never received anything

I did the PS3 Other OS settlement. Each class member could get up to $65, depending on the number of claims. You could file a claim for each eligible PS3 that you owned.

April 2010 – lawsuit was originally filed
      December 2011 – lawsuit dismissed
      1/6/14 – lawsuit partially revived
      6/20/16 – settlement reached
February 2017 – final approval withheld due to overly burdensome required proof
December 2017 – proof requirements relaxed and settlement increased
      4/15/18 – claim deadline
      6/8/18 – final approval
7/6/18 – appeal filed that delayed distribution
      9/10/18 – appeal dismissed

I filed my claim for one PS3 on 3/12/18. I got a check for $10.07 on 11/14/18. I had forgotten about it.

Because it has to go through the court system, it can take yrs. Esp if the company decides to fight the allegations. HTH

If you ever watch the show Dirty Jobs, there is one episode in New York sewage where they show how they have to shovel these wipes every day and fill up dumpsters with them because they don’t break down. It was so gross I would never flush a wipe again!

Sorry, I was having problem with posting the comment and it went through this time.

Anyone got anything from cruise call settlement?

Oh mercy, my husband had UC, we bought these and paid many a plumbing bill. The last time a pipe exploded throwing these wipes all over our yard 💩🙈🚽.

    • Sara

Were you able to record that as it was happening? I would love to see that.

Hmmmmm…..never bought that brand, but have purchased Cottonelle..

These things stopped up the lines at my house. We had to snake out the main lines. I wish we had receipts for these wipes! Horrible!

I thought that it was widely understood that flushable wipes are not actually flushable lol. A bidet is the way to go though…wipes and toilet paper could never get you as clean as water can!

    • Maggie

Totally agree! You can get a simple DIY-install bidet from Amazon for about $30. Once people live with a bidet, they never want to go back to smearing poop on their rear end with TP again. Its SO nice not to have to keep a trash can full of used, poopy wipes next to the toilet either.

I read that none of the “flushable” wipes are actually flushable. They don’t disintegrate. So glad I never used them.

Anyone else try to fill this out and get an error message? I have tried several browsers and get the same Server Error message each time.
