To do the bowling one it says I have to sign up for a Family Pass of 29.95 to get the free kids. I entered everything and they wanted to charge me at the end. Am I missing something?

    • Kat

The kids will be free!! They offer a family pass for the adults to bowl free each time your kids go – up to 2 games a week, I think, and it’s worth it if you like to bowl! Most centers offer a fee for a shoe pass too – as a reminder, the kids bowl free coupons DONT cover the cost of renting shoes. This makes the shoe pass worth it too.

Honestly, I would WAIT to buy the family pass. Once you sign up your kids they send emails weekly and usually they will send you a promo code to use and get a discount on the cost of the family pass. Last year I think the most I saw a promo code was for 40% off the family pass cost. Most centers don’t start kids bowl free until May anyway. You have time!

    • Kat

If you want to buy the family pass now though, instead of waiting for a better promo code, you can use code WELCOME10 to get $3 off the cost.

      • Jessica (Hip' Sidekick)

Thank you for this promo code information Kat! I will be updating the post:)

    • Amani

The $29.95 family pass if for adults that want to join. It’s totally worth it. Pays for itself after a few visits. My family also bought shoe rental packages for $15 each. We spent about $75 total but it was so nice and easy to stop in sometimes twice a week for two games. We bought a promo gift card that gave us free arcade tokens. Then used the gift card for the shoe and family pass.

      • Jessica (Hip' Sidekick)

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing Amani and SCORE on the free arcade tokens!

    • melissastone

The kids bowl free, the family pass is optional if you want to bowl with your kids

    • Christina H

There is a small ‘No Thanks’ button that you need to click once you are redirected to the family pass page to complete your online registration.

  4. Momof7

That’s an add on option. You can just sign up the kids for free. Most bowling ally charge for shoe rental but the games are free.

  5. Boysmom

I’m seeing a fee of 9.95 for the kids is that correct?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hmm, are you just trying to sign them up for Free without the family pass? I don’t find a fee for that as I click through and register my kids. There is a Fee for the family pass. Hope that helps!

    • Anne Marie

Where do you see the registration link? I only see a video and a description of the program. There is nowhere to register.

  6. Tonya

I won’t buy it again!!! I purchased the bowling pass last year and I was very disappointed. Our bowling alley in NM advertised daily “free bowling” with the pass but only had times after 9 pm.on weekdays. It advertised it as times on Saturday but after calling they had bowling leagues all day and no “free” bowling times. I tried so hard to use it but instead a wasted $30.

    • Another Shelly

Yes, in our area the regular price for kids to bowl is $3 with free shoes. So, I got the pass for my daughter and the place has decided to offer “free” bowling with a $3 shoe fee. Seriously. So, this “free” blowing is exactly the same price as regular bowling.

I wrote this “charitable” organization regarding their offer and they deleted my post on Facebook. Personally, I don’t care about $3. But don’t mess with economically vulnerable kids who may be looking forward to this activity only to be disappointed by a bait and switch.

  7. Kaylee

Yay! Thanks so much! We finally live near a location and my kids will love doing this for a weekly activity! (We do themed days like “make something Mondays, take-a-trip Tuesdays, water Wednesdays, etc)

    • Cassandra (Hip Sidekick)

Love that, Kaylee! What a great idea!

  8. Nicole

We did this last year. I will sign the kids up again but not purchase the family pass again – my kids are small enough that 1 game is PLENTY so we didn’t make our money back on that deal.

  9. Kris

We didn’t use the family pass more than once- but we bought the shoe covers/bowling booties from bowling.com on sale- so we don’t pay for shoe rental either

    • Stacey

I had no idea they had such a thing. Thanks

  10. Ryan

hOT25 will save you 25% off the family pass which was almost $8

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, Ryan! That code won’t apply for me. Bummer!

  11. NurseMom

HOT31 will save 31%. It says it’s only good for 15 minutes, but who knows..

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing! That coupon is showing as invalid for me. DARN!

  12. Rebecca

When does this start? My kids are done with school now, and I’m already out of ideas to keep busy lol.

    • Stacey

      May 1st! Good luck!

      • Rebecca

        Thanks!!

  13. medz

I registered just today, and it already said a few hours ago that i missed the free kids bowl, and telling me to get other coupons like $10 for $25 restaurant.com? Is this legit? I just wanted the free bowling. Here’s what a part of I received on email:

It’s Darin from Kids Bowl Free and I want to first thank you for registering for the 2019 Kids Bowl Free program!

It looks like you missed the opportunity to get our Kids Bowl Free Super Saver. It’s an awesome deal.

Normally this is $24.95, but today you can have it for $9.95

  14. Kristen

The skating deal is a $4 administrative fee per kid… just so you know. Thanks for sharing!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

I do see that now! Thanks a ton for pointing that out! That detail has been added to the post!

    • je

I see the $4 fee per kid too for the skating program. This was in their FAQs (last sentence):

To register for kids skate free, you first have to find your local skating center’s page. To do this simply go to the Locations Page listed above in the navigation bar. You can also search for your local skating center by your zip code on the home page, above the map. Once you find the center, simply click on the green “Register for This Skating Center” banner. Once you have filled out the form, you will receive an email asking you to verify your email address. Once you have done that you will a registered member of Kids Skate Free. Please keep in mind your first set of passes will not be ready until Monday of the following week. Also there is $4 admin fee that is annual(once per year).

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re right! I am finding that detail now as well! Thanks so much for the heads up! I have updated the post!

  15. Kat L

The family pass by me is $39.95. Yikes. Not going to sign up for that just yet.

  16. Christina H.

Also check with your local bowling centers for other deals. Towards the end of the summer program, our center actually offered FREE bowling lessons for 6 weeks and discounted family bowling activities.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How fun! Thanks for the helpful tip! Good to know!

  17. Cheryl Nugent

I am very angry over this. I purchased the “Family Pass” as we really were looking forward to bowling with the kids. It is only AFTER you make the purchase that is tells you the hours of the program. You can only bowl M-F open to 6pm. It is not valid on the weekends or evenings. I don’t know about anyone else, but both my husband and I work and don’t get home until 6pm, so the pass we bought is COMPLETLY USELESS. I am so angry that no where in the ads or info did it state this information. It said 2 fee games per person, per day. Why would anyone think that weekends or evenings would not be included based on the promotional ads we received. I have emailed the promoters and asked for a refund. If they wont give I will contact my back. This is like bait and switch!!

Here is what the ad reads: “Each child will snag coupons for 2 free games of bowling daily throughout the summer” “This program also offers a great deal for parents and older siblings. The optional Family Pass allows up to 4 adults to bowl 2 free games right alongside the kids all Summer long. The Family Pass is just $29.95 (one-time payment) and is valid for the entire length of the Kids Bowl Free program at your local bowling center.”

Where does it say Monday-Friday daytime hours only??????

    • Cheryl Nugent

Even the confirmation email I received *after paying* says you can bowl any day, which isn’t true.
See below, it says: “The Family Pass is such a great deal that using your Family Pass just one time all summer may save you $$$ right away… but the Family Pass can be used every day all summer and has a value in excess of $1500.”

      Hello Cheryl!
Thank you for registering your family for the Kids Bowl Free Program! Kids Bowl Free is a great program for children and families. We’re glad to have your family as a member of Kids Bowl Free 2019.

If you haven’t done so already don’t forget to get your family pass that will allow adult family members to also join in the fun! You can get your family pass now by logging into your account at http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/login.php.
Family Passes are a limited time offer…
Each participating bowling center has a limited amount of family passes available and when they are gone, they are gone. We don’t want you to miss out.

The Family Pass is such a great deal that using your Family Pass just one time all summer may save you $$$ right away… but the Family Pass can be used every day all summer and has a value in excess of $1500.

    • Colleen

Each bowling center sets its own hours and days. When looking at the center you choose, on the right-hand side of the page, it has the hours and days listed before you sign up with start and end dates. It is highlighted in red on my computer. Ours is available all days, until 6 pm on weekdays and 8 pm weekends. The bowling alleys offer this during the slow time when it would not otherwise be occupied.

      • Cheryl Nugent

Unfortunately mine doesn’t show this. I had my coworker go in on her personal laptop computer and sign up herself and she wasn’t able to see this box either. May be a system glitch on the websites end, but if we had been able to see it then we would not have paid. And secondly, the email sent to me should not have also stated it was available every day.

If the scenario changes by venue then they need to notate that. The ad is misleading. They should be willing to refund the money due to the wrong info given. But at this point they have responded to everyone else on the page but me, (and they have not responded to the 3 emails I sent either) so I guess I will just contact my bank and file a complaint along with the documentation and screen prints I have.

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Have you been able to contact “Kids Bowl Free”? You can do that by clicking on their FAQ, then click on “contact” at the top right of the site. There you should find a form to pop up where you can submit a question or request. In addition, I did find this number 877-841-4590. Hoping you can grab a refund or switch to another nearby location.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

DARN! SO sorry to hear that. It seems that hours can vary by location. When you click on your location and look to the right of the screen, it will display the hours in a red box. Have you been able to contact them? I do find a contact option when clicking through the link above and then clicking on the FAQ at the top of the site. Next, you can click on “contact” at the top right of the page. There a form will pop up for you to fill out to request help. SO sorry for any confusion and thanks so much for pointing this out! A note has been added to the post. Hoping they get back to you soon!

  18. Jamie

The code WELCOME10 only gives 10% off not $3.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll be sure to add that detail to the post. Also, the Family Pass price can vary by region. If yours is $29.95, as listed above, the 10% discount for that will be $3. Hope that helps!

  19. rl

The skating charge $4 a kid to register

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for pointing that out, rl! I just spotted that now too! That detail has been added to the post!

  20. LaVeda

I’m trying to register for the kids to bowl free, however, when I check out it states $49.99 voice3 $29.99. What gives

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hmm, I still find the kids bowling to be Free. Are you grabbing the family pass? That does have a fee and it can vary by region. Hoping that helps!

  21. v

Does anyone know if you have to do shoe rentals or can you bring your own and still get the two games free?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Great question! In the past, at my location, we were able to bring our own OR rent them. You could always call in to your location to be sure on how that might work near you. Hoping that helps!

  22. LS

We purchased the family package for 2 summers. It was well worth the price! I don’t bowl due to back issues, but i was able to sign up my sister and her husband to take my kiddos bowling. We bought my sister her own bowling shoes at http://www.Academy.com. They were $29.99 and were white with pale pink stripes. They looked a lot like Reeboks!

  23. Jennifer

Family pass for me is showing $45! Yikes! Stockbridge, Ga location

  24. Erin

Hi 🙂 is this in canada as well?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Yes! It appears so! I do find Canada listed in the drop down options when clicking through the link above. Hoping that helps!

  25. Vera

Darn that’s an awesome deal. I wish they had it available near me.

  26. Brandi DeMartini

    Yay!

  27. Courtney

When i go to buy the family pass it says 49.95???? 🙁

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! It seems the family pass price can vary by region. Hope that helps!

  28. Holly

When I try this is shows me the cost is $39.95 and the hip30 discount works for the 30% off and brings the total to $27.97. Why would mine be $10 more?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! The cost of the family pass can vary by region. Hope that helps!
