My son and I left Shazam partway through. He is 13 and was sobbing. The gargoyles frightened him and when the very EVIL bad guy used one to MURDER his FATHER, we left. Additionally, the good guy was put into foster care because he was separated from his mom in a crowd.
It’s a great movie. Not sure why you had to post spoilers. 🤔

Maybe you and your son should have went and saw Dumbo instead. Shazam was a fun movie.

I agree Dumbo was ok for me but left feeling down didnt like it 🙁 but I do agree with everyone here. How odd my son is also 13 and this didnt scare him nor did he sad really good movie even my 10 and 8 year enjoyed it.
Yea..not a Dumbo fan. My 10 year old loved Shazam.
After tax I paid over $13.00 a ticket. I checked atom, fandango and amc for discounts. Couldn’t find any. Also, I don’t understand why I dont get e-mails about these promo deals.

We also left the movie as my 7 and 9 year olds were quite frightened early on. My 11 year old stayed and said it was the worst movie she had seen. The graphics are very intense. I had expected it to be more lighthearted from the previews and billboards. If your children are sensitive, you may want to wait on this one.

My family of 4 went too and we only paid $30 as well on amc app. We all loved it. My youngest is 12 and parts were scary but not any different than what you see on tv these days . It had a GREAT message about family! My hubby and I are in our 50s and it’s a lot different than the TV Shazam we grew up with and that’s Good!
