Help Teachers #ClearTheList!

With back to school season upon us, thousands of teachers across the country are working to prepare their classrooms for the new school year and this typically means stocking up on school supplies.

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pocket? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and some school districts struggle, leaving many teachers to pay for school supplies on their own.

YOU can help by joining the #ClearTheList movement!

This movement was started by a school teacher earlier this month in the form of a Facebook group called “Support A Teacher – Teacher Gifting“. This group provides a place for school teachers and professionals to share their Classroom Wish Lists so that generous donors across the worlds can fulfill the item(s) on these lists.

Just choose a teacher in need, click on their wish list and start shopping!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list and then share their lists publicly. Even better, anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list and after making a donation, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your own classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top of any Amazon.com page. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Wish list and whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse Amazon for products and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

Teachers do so much for our kids so let’s help them out in any way we can!

I am a biology and geometry high school teacher in a Title 1 school which means these kids come from low income families. Their main concern is usually food and not supplies so I try to supply them with everything from food to markers and to interactive activities to make learning fun. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

I’m Ms. Hall and I teach 2nd grade at Gladstone Elementary School, located in the KCPS district. My school helps educate a wide variety of children, several of whom are English as a Second Language learners. We have children from over 20 different countries in our building. Several of the children have come from refugee camps with literally the clothes on their backs. I’m starting Year #17 this year.

I’m starting a new year in a new job and new district and would love some new things to spruce up my new classroom! Thanks for any help you might provide! Happy school year!

I’m a transitional kindergarten/Kindergarten teacher in South Central Los Angeles, where most student come from low-income households. I have a donorschoose.org project and I’m trying to replace worn out seat storage sacks before school starts 8/19/2019. I also created a wish list on Amazon to get flexible seating for my transitional kindergarten/kindergarten students. My school is located in South Central, Los Angeles. Most of my students come from low-income families. The flexible seating will allow my young students to seat comfortable and freely, while they learn and work. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3J0H7CZNG8RXC/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_1?_encoding=UTF8&type=wishlist# #clearthelists

I am a 4th grade teacher. This will be my 15th year at a Title I school. Most of my students do not have the supplies they need for school. While some of the things on my wishlist are fun extras for my kiddos I do have many basic supplies like pencils, glue sticks, and scissors. My kids are the best and I do everything in my power to make sure they feel safe and loved in my classroom. There are many items in my list under $10. My kids and I would appreciate anything on the list!

I am a second grade teacher in a small title 1 school in TX. I am still working on my classroom and planning to do lots of fun interactive learning activities in class this year. I strive to make learning fun (& teaching for that matter) instead of focusing solely on test scores. Engagement in class at this level can set so many foundations for learners. Thank you for any donations no matter how small, they will be hugely impacted among our class.
