Help Teachers #ClearTheList!

With back to school season upon us, thousands of teachers across the country are working to prepare their classrooms for the new school year and this typically means stocking up on school supplies.

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pocket? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and some school districts struggle, leaving many teachers to pay for school supplies on their own.

YOU can help by joining the #ClearTheList movement!

This movement was started by a school teacher earlier this month in the form of a Facebook group called “Support A Teacher – Teacher Gifting“. This group provides a place for school teachers and professionals to share their Classroom Wish Lists so that generous donors across the worlds can fulfill the item(s) on these lists.

Just choose a teacher in need, click on their wish list and start shopping!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list and then share their lists publicly. Even better, anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list and after making a donation, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your own classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top of any Amazon.com page. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Wish list and whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse Amazon for products and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

Teachers do so much for our kids so let’s help them out in any way we can!

I am a 4th grade teacher in an urban area in Ohio. We know the research concerning students from low socioeconomic statuses and that attend schools in those same areas. I am trying to give my class a quality education with tools that will help keep them engaged and eager to come into the classroom everyday. Hoping to invoke your divine favor for my class this year. Thank you.

Thank you so much for allowing teachers to post their lists! My school adopted a new math program, and there are a lot of manipulative and papers that need to be organized, and easy for students to access. This will help greatly! #clearthelists #thankyou https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/TL697IEWDBGR?ref_=wl_share

#ClearTheList is such a great idea to help teachers who need to purchase items with money from their own pockets.

I teach 2nd grade in a very small elementary school in rural MN. I am the only 2nd grade teacher with a class of 23. Most of my students come from either diverse or low income households. I spend quite a bit of my own money–I’m more than happy to, but this would help out tremendously!

    Thank you in advance!

If I receive nothing, I don’t mind. To know that people are so generous and teachers are loved is remarkable.

Every year, our grade level budget is reduced; plus, when we go on field trips, the transportation costs come out of that small amount. Split four ways, we have enough for some markers, card stock, and little else.

I’m so glad that people understand how much teachers spend of their own money for their classrooms and students.

    Thank you so much!

My co-teacher and I teach first grade in Lawrence, MA. It is a very low income, high poverty community that needs help. Teachers are expected to buy lots of the materials for students and that is why we are reaching out! Anything helps! Thank you so much!

Just ordered the organizer for your classroom. I have been very fortunate to receive money each year from my district, so that I can provide those much needed items for my 7th. grade classroom.
      Have a wonderful year!

I am going into my second year of teaching Preschool 3s and 4s. I would love to be able to have a science center, sensory bin, and add some fun math manipulatives into my classroom.I added some materials to my list that I could use to help with their gross motor skills and imagination. I also created a separate list to build my classroom library. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I am a first year elementary art teacher in a struggling Title 1 school district. Along with a nonexistent budget, I have a limited amount of my own supplies and empty classroom walls and cabinets. Not everything on my wish list is essential but just that a wish. Other things I can’t do without. All contributions are greatly appreciated and will make a huge impact on the lives of my kiddos. Please considering helping me and my students. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1HREJLB1390DD?ref_=wl_share

Teachers work so hard, and it is hard to meet with them to ask more of them. I will be presenting a PD with them in 2 weeks, asking them to do more paperwork. The data they will manage needs to be color coded, so I am requesting Flair Pens for each teacher to keep after our workshop. I am an independent presenter with no budget for them. It is a small thing that might let them know they are appreciated. Thank you!
