Help Teachers #ClearTheList!

With back to school season upon us, thousands of teachers across the country are working to prepare their classrooms for the new school year and this typically means stocking up on school supplies.

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pocket? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and some school districts struggle, leaving many teachers to pay for school supplies on their own.

YOU can help by joining the #ClearTheList movement!

This movement was started by a school teacher earlier this month in the form of a Facebook group called “Support A Teacher – Teacher Gifting“. This group provides a place for school teachers and professionals to share their Classroom Wish Lists so that generous donors across the worlds can fulfill the item(s) on these lists.

Just choose a teacher in need, click on their wish list and start shopping!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list and then share their lists publicly. Even better, anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list and after making a donation, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your own classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top of any Amazon.com page. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Wish list and whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse Amazon for products and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

Teachers do so much for our kids so let’s help them out in any way we can!

Thank you! I teach Pre-K in a small private school. I buy pretty much all of my own supplies. I would love to add some books 📚 and center items. Pre-K students learn so much “playing” in centers: vocabulary skills, sharing, creative thinking, fine motor skills, etc. They are not just playing- they are learning!

I am switching grade levels this year and I teach in a Title I school. I always have since I started teaching, I would be very appreciative of any help!

My District is a Title 1 school district. I am working with middle school students this year who have difficulty staying on track and following the Student Expectation Code. A lot of my students experience issues such as homelessness and hunger, in addition to suffering from other traumatic events. I often find myself playing roles outside of educator with them (Parent, Counselor, Coach, Lawyer, Doctor, Mentor, etc). I spend a lot of money on them for their happiness at the expense of mine sometimes, but I wouldn’t change it. Any help you can give would be amazing. Thank you for your help. And my students are appreciative of all the help you can give them.

I teach in a Title 1 school with an 81% poverty rate. A lot of my fifth graders can’t afford to bring supplies in. I buy as much as I can, but I am a single mother and my check only goes so far. Any help would be greatly helpful and appreciated. Thank you❤

The support is truly amazing….. I am a first year teacher, in a school where all students are effected by poverty. I have been trying to continuously do what I can to get things so “school” and not having “what they need” is not a problem. If you feel inclined to help in ANY way…. here is my list.

Hi! As a 9th English teacher, I believe in the power of a classroom library to help high school students continue to read. I have started a classroom library through garage sales, donations, and thrift shopping, but the money just isn’t there to buy new books. My 150 high school students would appreciate any books you’d be willing to help me provide in my library. Thanks so much from Minnesota!

I am a K-3 special education teacher in a small Maine town. We are in need of some art supplies, math manipulatives and scoop chairs for our reading library. I greatly appreciate any help that is given to us in our classroom. My students would be ecstatic!

Would love to be blessed with anything from my list as this is only my 2nd year teaching so I don’t have much. I’ll be teaching 3rd grade Math and Science in Austin!

Fourth Grade Teacher from Memphis here! This is so awesome!!! I am hoping that my class will get a blessing from this too! My students need so much. I would love to have snacks in my classroom for them to eat. I would also like for them to have durable supplies and furniture for our classroom.

Thank you! I’m a preschool science teacher at a play-based school. In my class we explore our world through sensory, STEM, and creative play based activities. We’ve hatched chicks, built machines, made messes, and more. Thank you for your support. ❤️

Thank you for helping teachers! I know that it is very appreciated by all who have/will receive.

I teach 2nd/3rd grade Science/Social studies. I am going into my 10th year teaching. I teach at a small town, rural, Texas school of just under 500 students PK-12. I love teaching in such a small district because it is so easy to get to know all students and follow them as they go along the educational journey. Any help is very much appreciated and will go to help around 70ish students. 🙂
