Help Teachers #ClearTheList!

With back to school season upon us, thousands of teachers across the country are working to prepare their classrooms for the new school year and this typically means stocking up on school supplies.

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pocket? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and some school districts struggle, leaving many teachers to pay for school supplies on their own.

YOU can help by joining the #ClearTheList movement!

This movement was started by a school teacher earlier this month in the form of a Facebook group called “Support A Teacher – Teacher Gifting“. This group provides a place for school teachers and professionals to share their Classroom Wish Lists so that generous donors across the worlds can fulfill the item(s) on these lists.

Just choose a teacher in need, click on their wish list and start shopping!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list and then share their lists publicly. Even better, anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list and after making a donation, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your own classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top of any Amazon.com page. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Wish list and whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse Amazon for products and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

    Getting ready to start my 16th year as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Utica Schools. I work with students in pre-k thru 6th grade. Student needs range from articulation errors only to severely multiply impaired students. I typically have between 55-70 students on my caseload.

    Hi! I’m Nicole! I teach 6th grade science, social studies and ELA. I’m in love with Amazon Basics Felt Pens, baking and my kids (both my boys at home and my school kids!)

    My focus this year is helping students who struggle with task initiation, planning and organization. As a mom of a kid with ADHD and executive functioning deficits I’ve seen how hard it can be to “do school”. My goal is to help students gain skills to be successful.

    I’ve taught for several years, but this is my first year teaching 8th grade in a title 1 school. New school, new kids, new challenges!
    Any help would be deeply appreciated!
    My most NEEDED items are tension rods, and drawer dividers. The tension rods are for putting up the curtains I made, to block the direct glaring sunlight.
    My most WISHED FOR item is the mini flashlights, for an activity I have planned.

    🏀📒 I teach science and P.E., in a Title 1 school. Many of the students lack resources at home and are often hungry.
    The things I need the most are vaccum seal bags (for our first project) and some food items for the snack drawer. The hand sanitizer dispenser would be awesome, too.

    Hi! I am the sole 6th-8th grade math teacher in a very small, rural, Title 1 school district in Medina, TX. One campus of Arms of Hope (Medina Children’s Home) feeds into our district. We have an awesome school, with amazing teachers, administrators, and students. I love working there! Unfortunately, we have a very tight budget.     I am a special education teacher at a Title 1 rural school in Wisconsin. Every year I spend close to or more than $1000 on my classroom. It’s not big, elaborate things. It’s necessities, a book a student wants to read, or a learning tool that I know will benefit a student. Little by little, those expenses add up.
