Help Teachers #ClearTheList!

With back to school season upon us, thousands of teachers across the country are working to prepare their classrooms for the new school year and this typically means stocking up on school supplies.

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pocket? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and some school districts struggle, leaving many teachers to pay for school supplies on their own.

YOU can help by joining the #ClearTheList movement!

This movement was started by a school teacher earlier this month in the form of a Facebook group called “Support A Teacher – Teacher Gifting“. This group provides a place for school teachers and professionals to share their Classroom Wish Lists so that generous donors across the worlds can fulfill the item(s) on these lists.

Just choose a teacher in need, click on their wish list and start shopping!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list and then share their lists publicly. Even better, anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list and after making a donation, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your own classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top of any Amazon.com page. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Wish list and whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse Amazon for products and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

Teachers do so much for our kids so let’s help them out in any way we can!

I am returning to teaching after a 10 year break to be home with my kids. I will be teaching PreK/K at a private school and I am starting from scratch because I got rid of most of my teaching supplies over the last few years. I am very excited to be returning to the classroom!! 😊 https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3UH89HMIK47ME?ref_=wl_share

High school math teacher— I’m starting at a new school this year and gifted many of my supplies to students from my old school so they wouldn’t go without next year. I would appreciate any support!

This has been such a rewarding process. I have loved giving and I’m hoping to receive donations for my Title I school/classroom. We did not receive any donations this year, so every little bit helps! Please consider donating!

    Thank you for doing this!
I am a 3rd grade teacher at a Title I school in Michigan. 100% of our students qualify for free lunch.
I am hoping to get granola bars, crackers, and cereal for students who come to school hungry. For many of our students, they come to school in the morning not having eaten since the previous day’s lunch. It is hard to focus on learning with a rumbly tummy. For this reason, I keep snacks such as granola bars and cereal on hand for students to grab if they need something.
Thank you for checking out my list! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1RJPMKV0ELSMU?ref_=wl_share

I’m in Detroit, and I’m Title 1 as well. I’ll pray for you this year!

Thank you so much for those purchasing items on my wish list! I just changed schools and will have lots of kiddos in an un-air-conditioned classroom on the 3rd floor of our historical building. So excited to get started, (hopefully with some fans!) but definitely needing help getting supplies. I have a newborn and my funds just aren’t available for my classroom at the moment! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3LFZA0AR26SSN?ref_=wl_share

7th year teaching, new to Kindergarten this year! I want to make this first school experience for these kids one they will always remember. I teach at a Title 1 school and many of my incoming students haven’t had the opportunity of preschool. Many lack resources at home as well. I want to provide a rich learning environment that is fun, comfortable, and safe. Thank you so much for your support!

I teach lower elementary Montessori in South Carolina, and my classroom ideas have definitely been bigger than my budget. I spent my own money on my class, but with five kids of my own including one in college, I could really use the help!

My name is Jeremy Dillon and I am a Third Grade Teacher from Southern Ohio. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. I have several items that remain on my list, and these items will be used to enhance my students’ education. Your consideration is greatly needed and appreciated!
