Help Teachers #ClearTheList!

With back to school season upon us, thousands of teachers across the country are working to prepare their classrooms for the new school year and this typically means stocking up on school supplies.

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pocket? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and some school districts struggle, leaving many teachers to pay for school supplies on their own.

YOU can help by joining the #ClearTheList movement!

This movement was started by a school teacher earlier this month in the form of a Facebook group called “Support A Teacher – Teacher Gifting“. This group provides a place for school teachers and professionals to share their Classroom Wish Lists so that generous donors across the worlds can fulfill the item(s) on these lists.

Just choose a teacher in need, click on their wish list and start shopping!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list and then share their lists publicly. Even better, anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list and after making a donation, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your own classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top of any Amazon.com page. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose the Wish list and whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse Amazon for products and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

Teachers do so much for our kids so let’s help them out in any way we can!

I’ll be a first year 5th-8th special education teacher this year! I have spent so much on my students already, but there is more that is needed! Our school is without air conditioning and the cost of fans alone could break me. I appreciate anything!

5th year teaching in a low income school! I teach 5th grade science and social studies and I would greatly appreciate any help given! As a single mom I know how hard it can be to get all of the supplies our kids need, I just spent $180 on one of my two! I can’t imagine the stress it puts on the parents of my own students! Thank you in advance!

Any way to find teachers by state?

I am a third year special education teacher in Missouri. This school year I will have the functional special education classroom for my school. Most of my students will spend their school day with me. I am excited to teach them life and functional skills. I am hoping to teach them how to cook! My amazon wish list has several items that would be extremely helpful. I do not have a stove or oven so I will be getting creative with our recipes! If you are able, take a look at my list and gift. Thanks for all the support, it is truly amazing 🙂 https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/BFFVV6QAGKBH?ref_=wl_share

I teach 4th grade and due to maternity bedrest the last 2 months of the year, have to leave my 10 week old this week to head back to my classroom. So excited to meet my new kiddos but so sad to be leaving my own. We moved classrooms this year and I was not there to pack my classroom so any help would be amazing! https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1GJ1DILABG7OZ?ref_=wl_share

This movement warms my heart! Many times, the teachers are using their own paychecks to fund their classroom. Thank you for lending a helping hand!

I am entering my 12th year of teaching – however, I am starting all over with supplies as I am now going to be teaching 1st grade vs 4th/5th! Any help is appreciated!

I made my list and posted it! Thanks to the generous souls who have helped other teachers fulfill their lists. I work in a building where teachers no longer have a budget to buy much needed supplies. I put some flexible seating options on my list.

  16. Tiffany Benton

Any help would be greatly appreciated and such a blessing to me but more importantly, my incoming students. I’d love to #clearthelist and be able to provide my students with age appropriate flexible seating and books. Most of what I currently have is for 4-6 year olds and I was moved to 5th grade so I will have 10-12 year olds. Anything helps. Thanks and God bless.

I’ve been teaching a long time but every year new books come out or new supplies need to be purchased. I spend over $2000 of my own money each year. I squeak by and have two high school children of my own. I’d love any help that you feel led to provide! ❤️❤️
