My soon to be kindergartener just picked out her backpack and lunch box! They had so many cute options. We bought the same ones (different designs) last year and they held up great- but at this price point she can pick a new design each year!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO true! Good to know they hold up well! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

  2. Amanda

How does the crofton brand hold up? Any experiences? I rarely shop at Aldi and all these deals have caught my eye.

    • Buckeyemom

Hi. I have owned 2 of expandable lunch/salad containers for over 5 years & my 2 youngest kiddos have used it daily for school. It has held up great over the years, being dropped, lost & ran through the dishwasher. Highly recommend!

      • Mary

Thank you, just bought the expansible lunch box!!

  3. Christa M

Bought a lunchbox and backpack for my son starting preschool! I was surprised at the selection cute options for boys and girls! Seems decent but for the price I don’t mind if it lasts a year! Thanks for sending me!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO awesome! Glad you found some great options, Lordy! You’re very welcome!

Does Alidi do online shipping ? I live in AZ no store close to me. I always love there stuff from the posts.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi there! I don’t find that they offer online shopping at the moment. Hoping your area has an ALDI soon!

  7. Paige

I got the plastic water bottle and lunch box and they seem great! We already had a book bag or would have bought that too.
I also picked up the sling bookcase, flexi hamper, and a couple kids activity books. So many great buys this week!!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SWEET! Thanks for letting us know your score, Paige!

    • Mary

I also found dry erase activity books for Phonics, Math and couple others.

  8. SK

They also had a great deal on sandwich bags and snack size bags, too. I don’t remember the price but the snack bags were packages of 90 and I think they were $3.49 and the sandwich bags were 120 and about $4.49. Please don’t quote me exactly but I was shopping with my sis-in-law and she said it was a great deal and bought a few packages of each.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the heads up! We’ll be sure to keep an eye out!

    • Christa M

. It was 200 count for 3.49. It was a good deal. I picked one up.

  10. subbu

Hi.. I was able to see Crofton vegetables dicer for $9.99. Any reviews on that?
    TIA

  11. Dee

Picked up the unicorn backpack and lunch bag for my kindergartner as well! I also was surprised at the available selection. The quality was better than I expected for the price.

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

Yes, I felt the quality was really great, Dee!

  12. sne3103

Are the insulated food containers good at keeping food hot?

  13. amy

I LOVE Aldi and shop there almost exclusively for my groceries.

As a heads up, we tried the Crofton insulated water bottles and were disappointed. The metal top quickly broke off from the pastic. I returned it with no problem but I do think you get what you pay for quality-wise with their line of products.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Darn! Thanks for letting us know about your experience, Amy!

  14. Rosanne

So glad I saw this before I shopped Aldi’s yesterday afternoon. I purchased a $3.99 lunch bag for me! I frequently bring my own food places, but needed an actual lunch bag, this one is roomy and very well made. And has the holder on the outside for water, it’s perfect!!☺️
    Thank you, Hip2Save!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

      Oh good! You’re welcome, Rosanne!

    • Chris

I bought lunch boxes for my grown sons 2 years ago in Gray/navy with zippers . Granted they are grownups but they still look almost new. I had spent lots more on them previously elsewhere but this brand is great .

  15. Melissa

My Aldi only had the large stainless steel water bottles, and I wanted the smaller ones to fit in the lunchbox, hoping they’ll have a restock next week before school starts

    • Jennifer (Hip Sidekick)

My ALDI has new stuff every few days it seems! I love going in just to see what else has been added, Melissa!

  16. Mallory

We bought the camo backpack and lunch bag last year. I used HTV to personalize the bag. It was for my 18 month old to use for school, but we also used it as a diaper bag during the evenings/weekends. I want to design a new bag for my son, but the camo one is still in too good of condition to justify it!

  17. Mary

Any reviews on the effectiveness of Aldi’s sunscreen brand? Is is not expensive and they have the cream and the aerosol.

    • Audra

We tried the sunscreen this summer and loved it. It was free of a lot of the nasty ingredients and way cheaper than the other name brand stuff. Plus, it rubs in easier. After spending a week at the beach, we all felt like the Aldi sunscreen was our favorite. No burns either!
