There’s another produce recall in the news! 😱🥦🥕

The Mann Packaging Co. is voluntarily recalling more than 100 vegetable products sold in the United States and Canada for possible listeria contamination. This recall is in response to a notification by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency of potential contamination.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious illness in young children, elderly people, and anyone with weakened immune systems. Healthy people can also be affected, and it can be particularly dangerous for pregnant women and their unborn children. So far, there have been no reported illnesses associated with these products according to the company.

The products in question have a “Best If Enjoyed By” date of October 11, 2019, through November 16, 2019. The packaged vegetables were sold under a variety of brand names, including Del Monte, HEB, Hungryroot, Kroger Organic, Mann’s, Marketside, O Organics, Signature Farms, Sysco, and Trader Joe’s.

An extensive list of products recalled in the U.S. and their photos can be found here. There is a separate list of products recalled in Canada. If you discover that you have any of the affected products in your possession, you’re urged to dispose of them immediately.

Customers with any questions should call the company at 1-844-927-0707 or send an email to consumers@mannpacking.com.

That’s about what it comes down to! With the aldis frozen fruit recall and this!! I checked my frozen fruit and it wasn’t those dates but do I really want to take a chance? Nope. Probably gonna throw it all out. Like the dates for the recall were within a week of the bags I have in my freezer.

Is this just for the fresh packaged vegetables ?

  4. Joanna

    Oh great! This is ridiculous.

Welp, I’m dead. I’m immuno-compromised AND am a vegan (because I’m allergic to everything else, basically). So, yay.

Fresh apples in some areas recalled 2 weeks ago for listeria and ground beef in several states are contaminated with salmonella. They haven’t been able to link it to a specific brand yet and it has already killed 1 person. My state is one of the states (TX) that people have gotten sick or died.

    • JenniferS

Did the person die from the beef or apples being contaminated?

We had one of the veggie trays on Friday and all got sick on Sunday. Body aches. Nausea Fever. Horrible…much better today! Now we know what happened!

remember, if you do have a product that was recalled not only throw it away but disinfect your fridge as well! Or you are risking cross contaminating everything you put in it.
