I have shopped on the CP a lot on and off through this time frame. I can not say I noticed any deception. I base my purchase decisions on the final price. I have nmbeen happy as a customer. I will NOT be claiming anything.

    • Rae

I agree with you KR. They are also one of the most affordable places to buy children’s clothing!

    • SB

      I agree

    • Cheryl

Agreed, I would of had five kiddos age 12 to 2 and spent a bunch, as well as saved a bunch during that time. If I didnt like a price, I didnt buy. No claims for me either!

    • s

      Same here.

    • Amy F;)

      Same here! 🙂

      Same here.

    I agree with you KR

    • Michelle

I agree too – I will not be filing. I’ve gotten tons of great deals over the years. It’s a shame for these types of lawsuits.

      • Amy

I agree, seems odd to me. I have bought tons there over the years and always just look at the final price to decide if I’m going to make the purchase.

    • Sandra julie Klingler

Does anyone know the address to submit claim form for lawsuit for childrens place?

  3. Lo

I noticed online buys returned in store were not fully refunded. Came down to a difference in tax. The company still made a little money but with thousands of purchases, it adds up.
    Maybe just my store.

    • Snazzy

The tax is based on the zip code. If you bought online with your zip code and returned in a different zip code with a different tax rate, the refund could be slightly different. They aren’t making money off tax.

      • Lo

Never had this problem at other stores. I ship to home. Return at the mall ( diff. Zip) but always exactly the same refund as I paid online Except at Children’s place.

      • MrsGarfield

I buy and return at the same zip code. Tax is different. On top of head target and Costco. There were others but I don’t remember right now.

    • jenn

This happened to me all the time. I’ve actually never had this happen with any other store, just them

    • je

This happens to a lot of stores. Really just depends on where you return because tax rates can be different even if you are in the same state. You’d think they’d refund whatever it says on the receipt, but some systems are pre-programmed with the tax rate for that zip code.

  4. Lindsay

I have shopped here a lot but don’t see an email. Does anyone know who the email from?

  5. Melissa Rice

I did not notice any deception. If anything, my prices at the register were sometimes lower than I anticipated due to additional sales.

  6. Nena

Who on earth has proof of purchase from 2012? Receipts fade Hahaha

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Lol, I hear ya, Nena. You’d either have to be a really good record-keeper or have some online receipts that are buried in your email!

    • Lexy

      My email confirmations 😂

    • Ms. Frizzle

Me. I save all our receipts and bills. Come to think of it, maybe I could use this time to start throwing stuff away starting with the year 2001. LOL

    • Lillie

Check your credit card statements. Online, most only go back to 2013 but I found plenty of purchases.

  7. jenn

So is this how they one day have a sale with 50% off and the retail price item is say $20, then the next day have a 25% off sale but the retail item is now say $15 or something less? I’ve seen them doing that online.

  8. Rti

So all of the purchases should be more than $50 or singe purchase receipt should amount $50 ?

  9. Deborah

So sad! Everyone always wants to sue! This is why the prices are so high :’( either someone is stealing or sueing . Apparently it’s someone who hasn’t paid attention and gotten their amazing deals! I’ve literally paid under $3 for a pair of $30 boots. I don’t understand why Children’s place is settling.

    • Mae

I know. It’s like suing the dollar store.

    • Susie

From what I’ve heard, a lot of times it’s cheaper to settle than to go through court even if they’re not at fault. Maybe that’s why?

  10. Tricia

So this only if you shopped in store or is it for online too?

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

It is for online orders as well. From the settlement claim, “The Children’s Place will provide, for each Class Member… one or more Vouchers good for a purchase either in a The Children’s Place store in the United States or online at http://www.childrensplace.com.”

      • Tricia

Oh ok thank you. I’ve purchased a bunch of times online but never recieved any email about it.

  11. Tricia

One more question….Is this $50 from one purchase or total over time?

    • Stacy F (Hip2Save Sidekick)

You can submit multiple receipts to show purchases over $50.

  12. Ashley Smith

I actually had an issue with false advertising on their website. I signed up for their credit card based on a discount (40% off) that I would receive whether I was approved or not. I was approved and the discount never applied and never received a code either. When I had called, they offered me $25 any purchase any way I paid, never got that. This has been an ongoing thing with them… Last time I called to talk to them, they transferred me to Pier 1 Imports instead of who I was supposed to speak to. I would just file the claim to get on the fact that they are deceptive but I don’t want to ever purchase anything from them again. Who offers coupons for a settlement?!

  13. Jen

I knew about the deceptive pricing but it is what it is. What they would do is raise the original price of the item and then offer a discount. The discounted price was more than what that item would cost on sale on any other day. I knew to shop when they didn’t offer the big discount days.

    • Jeniffer

U r right. I have also noticed this. I have a constant watcher of their website. They adjust the price of a perticular item based on the offer they are offering. During CP cash redemption program, they raised the retail price itself of that item. I agree with the suer and he/she didnt do anything wrong. As someone told CP is like dollar shop…NO dear..I dont agree with this. The simple flip flop (which we can get in old navy, party city for $1 or 2, Sometimes CP quotes $5 , somedays $3 and if u r lucky then $2. Its like they alsways change the retail price, I dont like this. And i never do shopping with CP cash ($10 off on $20), its not worthy. I feel the same with Kohls too.

      • wtfcares

        th3n don’t buy there anymore

  14. Rti

This settlement reminded me of Gap settlement, we filled around june/july last year. Has any one got those $6/$12 gift certificates from gap??? They were supposed to come in January

  15. Tina

I get an error when I try to submit online claim form. Took me awhile to fill out( get all proofs of purchase). Ugh!
